The halls are quiet, the waiting area is almost empty. The doors open and the doctor walks over to my mom. "Ms. I'm really sorry, we've tried everything that we could do for your sister, but unfortunately she is brain dead and the only thing that is keeping her heart beating and her breathing is that machine. She won't wake up from the coma that she is in. Someone will have to make the decision to pull the plug, if you decide to keep her alive she will only be a "vegetable". The doctor told my mom with a very worried, but sad look her face. This must be hard on the doctors to come out here and tell multiple families in the ICU that their loved one won't make it. My mom didn't say a word but nodded at the doctor, I know she wanted to cry. It was her sister, she took care of my siblings and I while my mom was working all the time. Doctor: "We will give you guys some time to call family members to come up and say their goodbyes" Mom: "Thank you. We would like some time to ourselves before we call anyone at the moment." Doctor: "Of course take as long as you need." My heart sank, it broke into millions of pieces. I couldn't think of anything to say to my mom, tears started running down my face and I couldn't stop my sister and I go over to my mom and we just hugged each other and cried. My mother called family members so that they could come up and I called a family friend that she was close to as well. I went in the back to see her I held her hand and wanted all this to be some twisted dream. I went out of the hospital to get some fresh air my mind was filled with a lot thoughts and depression started to kick in. I'm going to miss her a lot. Angeline you will be missed by everyone.
