Part 10: Reuniting with Jason

363 Words
Ava stood outside Jason’s apartment, her heart racing as she raised her hand to knock on the door. She hadn’t seen him since the day they parted ways, and now, standing here, she wondered if he had moved on. What if he didn’t feel the same anymore? What if she was too late? Before she could knock, the door opened, and there he was—Jason, standing in the doorway, his intense blue eyes locking onto hers the moment he saw her. "Ava?" His voice was filled with surprise, but there was an unmistakable warmth in it as well. Ava took a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest. "Jason, I... I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. About us. About what I want." Jason stepped closer, his gaze never leaving hers. "And what do you want, Ava?" Ava’s chest tightened with emotion, but she didn’t hesitate. "I want you. I’ve been running from my feelings, trying to convince myself that I wasn’t ready for something this intense, but the truth is... I’ve never felt more alive than when I’m with you. I’m scared, but I don’t want to run anymore." Jason’s eyes softened, and for the first time in weeks, a smile tugged at his lips. "You have no idea how long I’ve waited to hear you say that." Before Ava could respond, Jason pulled her into his arms, his lips crashing against hers in a kiss that took her breath away. It was everything she had been missing—the passion, the fire, the undeniable chemistry that had always existed between them. When they finally pulled apart, both of them breathless, Jason rested his forehead against hers. "I’m not going to lie, Ava. This isn’t going to be easy. I’m not an easy person to love." Ava smiled, her heart swelling with warmth. "I know that. But I’m willing to try." Jason’s arms tightened around her, and for the first time in what felt like forever, Ava felt at peace. She had made her choice, and even though the road ahead might be uncertain, she knew one thing for sure—she was exactly where she was meant to be.
