Chapter 24: Talfryn
He would have to be even more careful than when he practiced alone in the woods. While Talfryn knew he could patch up a few burns, he didn’t care to, nor did he care to seriously injure Akton by accident. While Akton circled the small clearing behind the shelter, Talfryn stood in the middle, eyes closed, getting a feel for his fire magic. The sun was descending, but there was still enough light for now.
“You’re going to have no feel for the lay of the land,” said Akton from somewhere behind him. Talfryn shrugged without opening an eye.
“I probably won’t get a chance to scout it when we next run into them.”
“If,” said Akton, sounding annoyed. Talfryn could hear him taking off his boots and figured Akton must have the heightened ability to sense while barefoot, too. H
