Chapter 1

Komori Yui. Ever since the minute she entered this place, she knew there would be no way out. She felt trapped in the Sakamaki manor with the six vampiric brothers as her captors. Everyday, they would come or summon Yui to drink from her. Their sharp fangs piercing through her soft, delicate flesh to lap at the dark red fluid coursing through her body. It was the only reason she was alive, if not, they would have killed her on the spot after having their fill of toying with her body and withered the remains of her sanity to dust. Even so, she didn’t fight it. How could she? She was merely a powerless, idiotic human girl with no home to call her own. Over the past few months of living with the vampire brothers, she learned that not all their traits were bad, yet still purely sadistic in nature. Their shared living was simply that. Cohabitation of predator and prey. Nothing more. Nothing less. She guesses that it was better this way since it could be worse. Other than that, nothing was truly out of the ordinary with her new home, though old. The blonde girl sighs, she only wishes that she could have someone to talk to about her problems. However, when at home the brothers did not let her leave the manor except to walk around the grounds only to be brought back in immediately after. Yui could only wish for a change, either in scenery or pray to whatever god that was listening that the Sakamakis would leave her in peace. At least for awhile so that she wouldn’t die from dehydration and excessive blood loss. All the resident vampires were busy at the moment. Shuu, the eldest, laid about somewhere. Reiji made habit of staying in his room, knowing it was the one place Shuu wouldn’t enter. The triplets usually were separated, but the last time Yui saw them, they were all playing a round of darts in the game room. She quickly left the scene with trepidation that they might use her as the dart board. The youngest out of the bunch is Subaru. Even though the white headed vampire had a temper, Yui felt closer to him, maybe it was because they were the same age, at least physically. Yui found herself walking towards the foyer, in her hand is a book she just recently borrowed from Reiji with him promising to punish her harshly if anything were to happen to it. Yui shivered. Reiji always did good to keeping his promises. Nonetheless, the sixteen year old girl sat down on the love seat in front of a large window and began to read one of her favorite western classics, Romeo and Juliet. Whenever she read, it felt like an escape from her prison, and for that she was grateful not to be disturbed by the brothers with their insatiable hunger. A few minutes passed, however, before the clouds turned thunderous. No matter, Yui quite enjoyed the rain. It made the room seem a lot more cozier in comparison to when it didn’t rain. With each clap of thunder and spark of lightning, Yui continued to read. Until she heard a loud knock at the door. She would’ve mistook it to be the thunder until she heard it again, though louder this time. Thoroughly confused, and rightfully so, the blonde placed down her book and went to answer the door. They never received visitors, unless a new sacrificial bride had arrived? Is her time here running out? Even if it was, Yui felt compelled not to let any other girl end up prisoner here. She wanted to warn whoever was here to run and never look back. She cautiously unlocked the large manor door, surprised none of the others appeared just yet. The second she pulled the handle back, there was no one there, just the loud pouring rain. Thinking that it was simply a prank, Yui was about to close the door until a wail quickly grabbed her attention. She looked down, and there, at her feet, is an infant. The child looked no older than six, maybe seven months old at best. Shocked, the high school girl bent down to inspect the small child. They were in a car seat covered by a thick blanket, crying their little heart out. There were bottles and formula, as well as a couple of diapers tucked at the side. Who on earth would leave such a poor thing out here? Yui could only scold the person responsible and bring the child inside before they got a cold. She didn’t know what the others would think. They would probably tell her to get rid of it or do it themselves if given the chance. She could already tell that she didn’t want that, but who would listen to her? “What. Is. That?” A deep voice boomed throughout the front of the house. By the tone and knife like edge, Yui instantly knew it was Reiji. He is displeased, very displeased. The infernal knocking at the door caused him to lose focus, only to find his prey bringing in what resembled human trash. Yui remained silent as she looked around to see that all the brothers were now present. Even Shuu came to see what all the fuss was about which is a rare sight. Yui is terrified, yes, but not for herself. She is completely petrified for the tiny child that continued to cry in their car seat. “Is that a baby?” Laito is the first to ask, strolling on up and bending down to look at the crying, tiny, human creature. Without even realizing, Yui moves the infant from Laito’s view. He saw this movement, as well as his brothers, and smirks slyly. “Don’t tell me. Are you already attached to this abomination, Little b***h? Why?” He questions with a hum. Yui swallows a lump as Laito threw an arm over her shoulder and drew his face closer to hers. “How cute.” “No, it’s repulsive. Get rid of it.” Reiji interjected. “...No.” She didn’t even hear herself say it. If the vampires were shocked then they didn’t show it. They were all silent except for Kanato who broke the silence to converse with his favorite teddy bear. “Yui-San is going to get in big trouble now, right, Teddy?” He asked his favorite companion, his soft voice holding a darker connotation behind his words. “What? Do repeat yourself, livestock.” Reiji demands, he approaches her with calm even steps and glared at the young woman who dared to defy him. At this point, Laito whispered in her ear, “This doesn’t look good for you Little b***h. I would just hand it over if I were you.” Yui quickly shook her head. None of them were getting near this baby, but Reiji still approaches with his glare hardening, making her feel even smaller than she already is. “Let her keep it, Reiji.” Another voice rose above the tension. Reiji turned to face the source. “And why should I, Subaru?” The second eldest inquired, glancing at his youngest sibling. The white haired vampire stepped up, and took position in front of Yui almost defensively. “The kid is cold, wet, and probably starving. Let her take care of it since she obviously won’t give it up. And I don’t know about you, but I’d rather not lose a good meal over something this trivial.” The youngest argues, making his point. Reiji glares at Subaru, one that he returns, and then glances at Yui clutching the car seat. The look in her eyes held a fire, one that his sadistic side wanted to see burn out, but instead he sighs, readjusts his glasses, and turns away. “If that infant disturbs me in any way, I won’t hesitate to experiment with it, or you, Komori.” He warns, but after that he disappears in favor of returning to his domain. By this time, Shuu got up and left mumbling to himself about how noisy it was going to be around here from now on, and something else that Yui couldn’t quite catch, but that didn’t matter right now. “Thank you, Subaru-Kun.” She bows as low as she could with Laito still coiled around her, but still gave her thanks regardless. A light blush dusts Subaru’s cheeks, but the teenage boy quickly turns away to save face. “I only did that so that damn four-eyes wouldn’t kill you on the spot. You’re on your own now.” With that Subaru also vanished, leaving the triplets to their own devices. “Hey, Pancake, don’t think that this child will be your saving grace.” Ayato smirks seeing the fear paint Yui’s face, just how he liked it. “He’s right Little b***h, what are you going to do now?” Laito asks, partially from genuine curiosity of what his little b***h had to say. “Teddy and I find the crying very annoying so please try to keep it to a minimum.” Kanato comments from his place by the stair. All three of them look towards Yui, waiting for her to say something. The girl, however, still couldn’t believe that she was allowed to actually keep and care for the child. “I-I’m just gonna do my best, and raise this child as if it were my own.” Yui glances down to the now slightly calmer infant, and reaches down to let it grasp her finger. Yeah, everything would be just fine.
