Chapter 2

2145 Words
After the brothers more or less gave Yui the go-ahead in nurturing for the abandoned child, she quickly brought the baby to her room to fully examine it to the best of her abilities. She unstraps the babbling whatever-month-old from their car seat and cradles the tiny human to her chest, tucking the child’s head under her chin as she began to rock it gently as she cleans out the car seat to inspect it’s contents that were wrapped miraculously in the blanket. Ten diapers, three onesies and bibs, not including the ones that the baby is currently wearing, three bottles, two pacifiers, and a full container of formula, along with the blanket. She already concludes that the diapers would not last to see tomorrow. And that the baby formula could last maybe two weeks depending on how much the child needed to be bottle fed daily. She quickly whips out her phone, a courtesy from Reiji so that they could reach her whenever needed, and did some research. She looks up articles from How to Change a Diaper to Crash course: Motherhood. When she told her vampire roommates that she wanted to keep the child she didn’t realize how much work it would be. The joys of motherhood, they say, but she wasn’t a mother, just a lonely girl in a house full of sadistic vampires. She realizes this is not the most suitable place to raise a child if it even manages to survive a week in this household. She honestly felt like breaking down and crying. What has she gotten herself into? She is putting an innocent life at risk! This baby doesn’t deserve that. Certainly not, but she couldn’t just abandon it on the side of the road or let the brothers have a chance to do worst. Yui looks down at her newly claimed child. “I don’t know how I’m going to do this.” She whispers, tears welling in her rosy pink eyes. “I can’t take care of you, I’m not your mommy.” The high school girl sighed. What was she going to do now? The child is beautiful, how could anyone give away such a wonderful little being that they, themselves, created? Yui herself was adopted and being so probably made her bias against those who put their children up for adoption, but she couldn’t help that. The baby has fair, but flushed skin, a pudgy little face, a button nose, golden tufts of hair, and large, round, sky blue eyes. Yui’s heart melts when the child pushes their head back to study her face, their tiny hands moving towards her cheeks, nose, and mouth. The sixteen-year-old girl found it to be absolutely precious. “You know what little one, it’s about time I gave you name. And the only way to do that is find out your gender.” Yui said, her mood lifting considerably. She felt the baby’s diaper, it didn’t feel full at all so she guesses whoever dropped her off did so after changing her. For this she was grateful, it’s about the small victories after all. She gently lays the sun-blonde haired infant down, being careful to cradle their head once they touched the plush mattress. “Now let’s see.” Yui undid the diaper, remembering what she read earlier and was pleasantly surprised. The infant is a girl. The little girl babbles and grins, showing off her two budding teeth that has yet to break the surface. From what she read online, the baby should be around seven months. Perfect. Yui closes back the diaper and begins to play with the child. The little girl coos and laughs joyously with the young woman who is now her adoptive mother. As the fun died down however, the blonde teenager begins to prep a bottle with formula and make a suitable bed out of the car seat using other blankets, and puts the original to wash. She also lays out the child’s onesies and bibs in one of her own empty personal drawers, and rests the other two bottles and formula container on top of the dresser for later. The car seat is placed on the daybed by the window surrounded by pillows and other soft things. The child that stays put in the center of the bed starts to fuss after not being able to eat for quite some time, and missing her new favorite playmate and nurturer. In one fell swoop, Yui picks up the baby and the formula bottle, and quietly makes her way to the kitchen to warm it. She desperately prays that none of the vampire sadists would be down there, but it was times like these that her prayers always seems to fall on deaf ears. Of course, Laito has to be there. Well, she supposed it was better than Kanato in that moment; again, it’s the small victories that count, she tells herself. Yui tries her best to ignore the flirtatious teen and shields the young child with her body, away from his piercing emerald green eyes. “Oh. Is the Mini b***h feeling hungry?” He sang. “Wow, now that I get a better look at it, it does look like you Little Bitch.” He compared the two. Yui, taking offense, corrects the vamp, “She’s not an ‘it’ Laito-Kun.” She defended the seventh-month-old. “Oh my. Did I strike a nerve, Little b***h?” Yui didn’t even dignify that with a response. She turns away to the stove and boils some water. After the water boiled, she places the baby bottle and left it for about 10 minutes. During this time, Yui bounces the baby on her hip, cooing and talking to the little girl completely forgetting Laito’s presence. This is a fact, he did not enjoy. Instead, Laito quickly snakes his arms around Yui’s waist and buries his face into her shoulder-length hair, enjoying her scent. “Y’know Little b***h, if you enjoy be a mother so much, then why don’t we try for a baby of our own, hmm?” The young vampire hums. Yui could only blush, and fail to form a coherent thought at that moment while Laito saw this as an opportunity to help himself to a little snack. Moving the girl’s golden locks out of his way, his tongue laps at the juncture of her neck and shoulder. Yui shivers at the sensation and the horny teen enjoys the sight. His Little b***h is enjoying this as much as he is. Soon, his sharp canines grazes across her alabaster flesh lightly, tauntingly, before tearing through her skin as if it were paper. Laito moans at the thick, sweet cocktail that is Yui’s blood. It’s so intoxicating, so heady, that it drove all the brothers into a spiral of madness and possession. The victim on the other hand held in her strangled cries and shallow moans to not scare the baby girl still in her arms. The child could only look up in blissful ignorance to what is happening in front of her, and because of that Yui is grateful once again. “L-Laito-Kun, please, stop!” She begs breathlessly. Laito glances at the expression on Yui’s hoping to see fear and lust mixed in her eyes as per usual, instead what he witnesses is complete embarrassment and worry over some human baby. Why? Her attention should be on him. He’s the one making her feel good; he is the one driving her mad with desire. This sort of feeling is a first for Laito. And it wasn’t an enjoyable one. He removes himself from Yui after making sure not a single drop of blood goes to waste. “Little b***h, why do you care so much?” Yui is honestly taken back. She didn’t expect Laito to care enough to ask such a question. She is honestly lost for words, but Laito seems like he expects an answer and looks willing to wait for one. “W-Well, I just do. You can call it maternal instincts or something like that, but,” Yui thought for a moment and breathes a sigh before turning to fully face Laito, looking squarely in his eyes with new found confidence; her pink irises didn’t waver looking into his green ones that widen, surprised to see Yui make such a face, “I know what it feels like to be abandoned, Laito-Kun,” she claims, “I don’t want her to go through that pain.” Yui felt tears begin to brim, but ignores them in favor of retrieving the bottle from the warm water and left without another word, heading back to her room. Laito stood there, alone in the kitchen. He processes everything that just happened in that moment and the one thing that stood out to him was Yui’s tears. In any other situation, he would’ve found the sight delectable. However, it only made him feel much more than he meant too. He presses a hand to his slowly beating heart, only to feel it pound a beat faster than usual. He gave a pitiful smirk, disgusted and embarrassed with himself, “Damn.” ... Yui stays in her room, it’s late and the baby is fed and changed, having prepared herself for bed as well, Yui realizes that she still hasn’t given the child a proper name. She looks over to the babbling babe who is crawling over to the young Komori from the other side of the bed. “What should I call you, hmm?” The baby simply blew a raspberry which Yui returns in kind. She laughs and the child giggles alongside her. Yui kisses the baby’s nose. “How about...Ema?” Yui suggests, for no particular reason. It was just something off the top of her head and completely random, similar to this entire day she guesses. The baby gave a large smile showing off her budding teeth. Which made Yui smile as well. “Ema it is then.” “So you finally named her, Little Bitch.” Yui quickly jumps up, surprised to see Laito standing over her. However he didn’t appear to be looking for a late night snack. Instead, he sits down at the edge of the bed staring intently at Ema. Yui instinctively moves her body closer to the newly named girl and watches for any sudden movement. However, she is even more surprised at Laito’s next choice of words, “I’ll take you shopping tomorrow, be ready by nine.” What? She couldn’t have heard him correctly. Maybe she’s gone deaf? Just to make sure that she heard him she questions him, “Y-You’re taking us out?” Laito nods with a playful grin knowing he dumbfounded his Little b***h. “Why?” She asks, genuinely confused as to why he would offer. Laito put a hand under his chin and glances to the ceiling to stare off into space in contemplation. Why is he doing this? He didn’t know any more than Yui did in that regard but answers her question nonetheless. “Well, you won’t get by with just the things you have now, right? Those diapers and other things of the like will be finished before you know it.” Yui admits that he did have a point, but never in her wildest dreams would she even entertain the idea of one of the brothers accompanying, much less offer, to take her shopping for anything of the sort. Before he changes his mind, Yui quickly agrees and thanks Laito profusely. Laito simply rolls his eyes telling her there were other ways she could show her thanks, but promptly left it at that before vanishing to his own part of the manor. Yui is left blinking at the spot where Laito just occupied. Is he really doing this? For her? For Ema? She didn’t know but decides not to dwell on it for too long, instead she set the baby down to sleep who was already growing fussy since she had a pretty eventful night. After putting Ema down to sleep, Yui climbed into bed mentally preparing herself for whatever challenges she would face tomorrow. She is going shopping with Laito Sakamaki after all.
