I was staying in Mia's home because my mom was in the hospital to take care of father. After couple of days, father was discharged from the hospital and was back home.
What happened to daddy I asked, and my mother said your father had seizures (epilepsy). Well Frankly, I did not what that was at that time, only thing I knew was it was scary to see my father like that.
Don't worry he will be fine soon, said my mother. As she said my dad became better after a week and things seemed normal. Heart of the story which I did not knew at that time is, the seizures are caused due to my father's addiction.
My dad wanted to stop his alcohol addiction and infact stopped drinking, which is his body which was addicted to alcohol could not get accostomed to the sudden change and as result his brain could not function normally. That is why he started having seizures
It was very sad, even though my dad wanted to stop he could not. Though doctors gave him medication to stop his seizures and his addiction, it did not work. My father's addiction went beyond his controll so bad that even if he knew that his liver is getting effected he could do nothing except surrendering himself before his addiction.
* Two years later*
Time passed and my father's health was getting worst. Due to his health conditions he could not go to his office anymore, he was hardly going few days in a month. His income become low, and with increasing expenses we were becoming unstable financially, but I never knew this as my father never wanted his kids to know that their father was struggling to meet the ends.
In the past two years, my father was admitted in the hospital every alternative months and was discharged after three or four days. Although doctors strictly warned my father from drinking he could not. My father damaged his liver completely which was called as Liver cirrhosis, anymore alcohol can be fatal to him but he could not stop himself from drinking.
After few months, my father quit drinking and we were so happy about that especially my mom. After all our prayers were heard and my father will be fine now.
