Chapter 18

I should've thought that Micheal would have a back up plan. Now he knows everything. We have to hurry and get to Connan's. Thankfully we are almost there. I can't stand another minute of this awkwardness.

Conner and Leon have just been sitting next to each other, not saying anything. They try to say something but stop themselves. Its getting annoying. I speed up and try to get to Connan's. He lives in the middle of nowhere, and its annoying to get to.

Its miles and miles of flat land. Its so flat you can see his house as a little dot in the distance. Not only that, getting into this place is hard. You have dirt roads in the forest that make a huge maze. Magic spells to keep people out.

I pull up to the house and leap out of the car. The other car with Josh and Ertha pull up. They both get out of the car and look at the house.

" This is where he lives. " Ertha asks.

I look at the house. It looks like its about to fall apart. The wood is all rotten and falling apart.

" Yes and no. "

" What does that mean. "

I sigh. " Lets just go in. "

I walk towards the house and once I walk past the barrier the house changes. All that stands is a small shack with a small door. I open the door and stairs led down from the door.

" Wait. He lives down there. " Ertha asks.

" Yep. Lets go. "

I walk through the door and head down the stairs. Everyone hesitatingly follows and the door closes by itself. I continue down the stairs and reach the bottom. I look down all the tunnels and sense Connan.

I head to wear he is and everyone but me and Conner are freaked out. I mean his house is weird. Looks like a cult lives down here, or a monster in human movies. Candles everywhere and there's nothing covering the dirt of the tunnels, so roots hang from the ceiling and poke out from the sides.

I can see why they are uneasy. Connan sucks at cleaning as well, so the place is pretty dirty. We reach a door and I open it. Connan is standing right behind the door with a smile. Every jump and Ertha lets out a scream.

His smile fades away. " Sorry, sorry. I could sense You coming and got excited. It has been so long Lilith. "

He smiles and hugs me. " So, so, so long. "

" Only been a year. "

He pulls away and gasps. " Oh no. I forgot your birthday. How rude of me. "

" Its okay. Another one is coming. "

" True, true. Hmm. " He looks at everyone behind me. " Who are these young ones. "

" Ertha and Leon. "

He looks at me. " Oh marvelous. More visitors. I think I will make a snack for all of us. "

He smiles and skips away into another room. I walk into the room and everyone follows. I sit down on the couch and so does everyone else. They all look nervous but Conner, he looks annoyed.

After a bit of more awkward silence Connan comes back with a platter. He places it down on the table and sits down beside Ertha, and she tenses up.

" There we go. I did not really have much since I have not went and gotten supplies. So dear Lily. " I cringe when he calls me that. " What is the meaning of this visit. "

" Micheal is planning on reviving the werekyns. "

" What. "

" He's also planning on making them nephalem hybrids. "

He clicks his tongue and shakes his head. " That fool. I always knew he was with that rotten bunch. "

I nod. " I'm hoping you know the spell hes gonna use. "

He chuckles and motions to all the books in the shelves. " Only way we are gonna find out. "

I groan. " Great. "

" It should not be hard. The spell is an ancient one, so it should be in one of my ancient books. I do not have many of those. Hmmm. " He gets up and looks through the books. " I think I know what spell who are talking about. I remembered something about it. Aha. "

He grabs a black book with red writing on it. I can't read the writing. He walks over and sits back down beside Ertha. He opens the book.

" It is in ancient writing, only I can read it. "

We all sit in silence and I eat a few pieces of his platter. Conner doesn't like Conan because all he does is warn him about not hibernating. Conan has a strong aura that he doesn't mask, so everyone is uneasy.

" Found the spell. " His finger trace over the page. " So he need four different species, and he needs one that contains a nephalem. It also says what relics he needs. The spell must be done on a bloodmoon, which is only a few days away. "

" A few days. " I say.

" Yes. In two days. "

" Dammit. "

" Why does he need a spell, when he can break the spell like you guys did. " Leon asks.

" The spell will release every nephalem at once. We were compatible with them. The issue is, not everyone is compatible with nephalem. The nephalem can devour the soul of the person, or fuse with them. Not all Nephalem are compatible with someone, those that aren't compatible with anyone, will devour someones soul. "

" Oh. I see. "

" Sylvie and Josh are compatible with one. "

Josh looks surprised. " Really. "

I nod. " Not sure which ones though. "

" Don't do it. " Conner says.

" Why. " Josh asks annoyed.

" Its annoying. Its like a voice that constantly speaks. "

" Really Conner. " I smirk. " What is yours saying. "

He glares at me. " You know what hes saying. "

" Just listen to him. "

He shakes his head. " Nope. I will wait. "

" So sweet. "

" Shut up! "

Conan sighs. " Like siblings you two. Now let me continue. I know how to stop Micheal. "
