Chapter 17

Connan Morelli is a vampire/werewolf hybrid. Hes been alive long before the council started. People get his age mixed up because of the hibernation that vampires have to go through. All vampires have to go through hibernation from time to time.

If not they can lose their minds. They are immortal creatures and sometimes it sucks. Every few hundred years or so they go into a hibernation. It helps keep their minds intact and the madness out. Connan missed one of his hibernation's, a lot of vampires did.

It was when the council first started, a huge war broke out against another region. A lot of vampires missed their hibernation's and went crazy. Its not like the hibernation comes and you miss it. They feel it and know they have to sleep.

They can hold if off, but they can fall asleep whenever they want. By missed I mean they went past the maximum amount of time they could hold off. Connan went to sleep as fast as he could afterward, but it still messed with his head.

The council rewarded him for fighting for them and gave him protection. Lots of creatures did not like hybrids, and thought they should be eradicated. Connan is the first hybrid to ever be on a council. This region is slowly warming up to hybrids.

" Why do you want me to come. " Leon asks.

I sit down on Leon's bed " Don't you want to be with your mate. "

" I don't know what you mean. " He stammers slightly.

" Sylvie is staying here with her mate, so a spot is open. "

" Conner filled it. "

" Nah his spot is different. Why don't you want to be around him. "

" He'll reject me. "

" Why. "

" Who wants another guy as his mate. He had the look of shock on his face when our eyes met, I don't think he was expecting his mate to be a guy. "

" Conner doesn't care that you're a guy. Hes been with men before. "

" What?! " He says shocked and a bit angry.

" Yes. Don't get jealous now. "

He huffs. " I'm gonna be right back. "

He leaves the room and closes the door. I lay back onto the bed. This is nice. I can feel my old self coming back. Ever since we got the third relic, I feel my old self creeping in. The one before the academy, not the one that was treated badly by her siblings and parents, but the one I am with them.

I never thought I would miss that one. I smile. All three of us miss it. I stretch out and relax. The door slowly creaks and I lift my head up and look. A little girl pops her head in and looks at me. She looks taken back and closes the door.

I hear her little feet as she runs away. I get up and open the door. I look in the direction I heard her run. Shes trying to open a door but its locked. She huffs and notices me. She turns around and starts to head down the stairs fast.

I quickly follow her and grab her as she misses the step, and almost falls down the stairs. She wiggles and tries to get out my grasp.

" Careful now. You don't want to fall do ya. "

She stops wiggling and goes stiff. I carry her down the stairs and put her down. As soon as I let go she bolts away.

My aunt giggle. " That's Larissa. "

" Larissa? "

She nods. " The newest of your cousins. Shes only 3 years old, but extremely shy. "

" Shes mute also. "

My aunt looks sad. " She is. "

" Yea I could tell when I picked her up. "

" The doctor thought she might be. "

" Shes got a good future though. "

She sighs. " It will take me awhile to get used to your powers. "

" I can borrow a fraction of others abilities. I got a bit of Celdo's. "

She smiles. " As long as shes happy, that's all I care about. A good future huh. "

" Yep. "

" I wish all my children happiness. " She looks at me. " Even you. "

She walks over and puts her hand on my cheek. " I just wish you weren't this tall. "

I chuckle. " Max is never gonna get over it. "

" How tall are you. "

" 6'1. "

She snorts. " Poor boy. " She starts laughing. " He's 5'9 and keeps saying this imaginary growth spurt is coming. "

" Poor guy. "

She looks sad again. " Will you come back. "

I smile. " Yes. When this is all over, I will come back. "

She smiles.

" Lilith. " Josh says running towards me. " We have a problem. "

" What. "

" The relics are gone. "

" What! "

" Who took them. "

" Fynn. We also checked the dungeon and the guards said that he tried to talk to Kendra. They didn't let him in so he left. "

" We need to hurry and get to Connan. Hopefully he knows the spell they are trying to use. Get everything ready. "

He nods and walks away. I look at my aunt and she has a worried look on her face. " Everything will be alright. "

" I hope so. " She says.
