Moonlit Secrets

CHAPTER 4

SELENE’S POV

I woke up the next morning back in my bedroom with the bright light of day hitting my face. I touch my stomach to see if I was injured but there was no injury. “It was just a nightmare “ I said, thankfully heaving a sigh. It was only a bad dream but it felt so real . I ruffle my hair then proceed to get up to start my day. It’s my second lesson with Olcan and he’s coming over soon.

I hop into the bathroom and take a quick bath, then after I get dressed . I put on my black leggings with my beige wrap top which I strapped a little above my waist. Then I put on my brown boots and tie my hair in a messy bun. I apply my cherry essence on my lips and my scented oils on my palms and behind my ears . I take one last look in the mirror before heading out for breakfast.

I get to the dining room and see my parents' seats empty with left overs on plates indicating they’ve probably had their breakfast before I came in. I sit to eat my food but I can’t help but think about my night mare. I wanted to tell Rue about it but I have my lessons with Olcan in a few minutes. Maybe I’ll tell her about it when I get back.

The doors to the dining room open and Phelan (Leidolfs son ) enters . “ Miss Selene, your trainer has arrived”, he says . Phelan used to have a crush on me when we were younger, but I never felt the same. When we grew older we stopped being friends and he just became so stiff after he became a guard wolf for the pack. I tried to get back my childhood friend in him but he just never came back so I’m used to this Phelan now. “Alright thanks”, I reply coldly and walk out the door and head to the training fields at the back since dad said we wouldn’t be using The Everglade fields anymore. I see Olcan looking as charming as ever eating an apple. He doesn’t see me yet but I’m still observing how he moves his mouth while chewing. “Well I don’t think we can get started today if you just keep staring at me eating my breakfast, “ he says with a grin. I’m quickly snapped out of my staring “ I wasn’t staring, I was just taking a good look at the training space” I lie . “Alright Selene let’s begin” he says as he finishes the apple. I walk toward him and he instructs me to sit on the grass while he explains what we will be learning today.

“We tried to improve your wolf's hearing senses in the last lesson and I suppose it worked . For today we will be working on your keen sight. I’ll illustrate by throwing something small like this pebble toward the lake and I’ll find it without searching.” I know what keen sight is but I never knew it was this complicated. I watch as Olcan throws the blue pebble toward the lake . His midnight blue eyes change to warm red and shortly after he says “follow me to get the pebble”, we both walk toward the lake at the other end and Olcan picks up the blue pebble. I’m actually quite impressed and I say “wow that’s so cool , let me suppose my turn right?. He nods “ yes Selene, here use this purple pebble.” I take the pebble and swing it as hard as I can . “ now try to feel the pebble and let that energy surge through you. Feel where the pebble is” he says as he walks me from where we were at the lake to the middle of the field. I concentrate while feeling the brush of the little wind.. I try to block out all the noise and then it feels like I’m traveling all through the fields without moving an inch . And I can see it the purple pebble in the grass near the trees. “ I see it !!” I screamed excitedly to Olcan and he smiles at me. Olcan’s smile is really warm . It brings out his eyes. I break away from my weird stare, then take Olcan along to retrieve the pebble. I pick up the pebble then hand it to him. “Hmmm Fast learner” he says . I smile “Learning from the best”, I reply . We start walking toward the middle of the field I don’t notice a tree branch in front of me and I trip completely, losing balance and expecting to fall completely, but I feel Olcan’s strong arms holding me from behind and my waist “Careful love” he says with his deep enchanting voice and I can feel my face turning red . We are staring at each other dead in the eyes then I hear my throat clearing and I quickly help myself up . I look up to see Father .” Selene dearest”, he says “ Father”. I greet him. “ Alpha Edmund “ Olcan greets my dad but I notice the way he has a stern look while greeting. “ you must be the trainer…Duncan?” My father says. “It’s Olcan sir” Olcan corrects my dad, almost sounding upset to me. “Well then my daughter is a great learner and I suppose you have what it takes to teach her . I’ll leave you too to the rest of your training. Have a great day” father says formally before he turned to leave us.

Olcan nods and turns back to look at me. His stern look was suddenly gone. I swear with the way He looked at father someone would think they had met before . “So anymore lessons for the day?” I ask “well i just want you to keep practicing your keen sight using these items” he gives me a little arrow, a ring and two other pebbles. He goes to stand under the tree while observing as I find all the items using keen sight. The day soon approaches evening by the time I completely found all the items . “ that was a great lesson I feel so powerful already “ I smile telling Olcan “ you’ve always been powerful you just need to learn how to use your power Love” he says in a gentle voice. “ I guess I’ll see you tomorrow then” I say to Olcan clearly not hiding how red I’m turning from just his look alone. “ i look forward to that Selene” he says and gives me a warm smile before turning to leave.

I also leave the fields to find Rue so I can tell her about the nightmare. I headed straight to Rues place after training. I knock on the door and she greets “ Hey girl ! What’s up with the surprise visit? “ she pulls me into the house . “Well, I would have come earlier but I had training with Olcan” I say trying to hide my blushing face “Ouuuuh Olcan the trainer and potential mate ouuuh” Selene says in a sing song voice “ Rue not kow please I actually came to tell you about the nightmare I had last night and it felt so real” I say to rue watching her expression change.
