P.
I walked further in, leaving my original position as it wouldn't do me any good just standing there and watching students going in while i stood like a robot. To say the school was big would be an understatement. It is magnificent. The gate had an embroidery sign of BVH written in a cursive form as the logo of the school, and through the outside, one could see the length and extension as to where the school branched to and guessing by the amount of cars that parked outside, they don't allow cars to go into the school. Being nervous didn't do me any good as I got stares from different students going in, probably because I screamed 'the new girl', which my attitude didn't do any much better. I got past the school gate as I showed my ID, after the security scanned for verification. My eyes wondered as I was in awe. Everything about this place screamed 'stinking damn rich money'.
I held onto my blazer tightly, as it hugged my body tighter making me remember the day when my dad had gone to take my uniform from my new school and how I wore it.
"Look at you!" Dad exclaimed, as i came out of the room where mom and dad were both sitting on my bed waiting, after minutes of waiting for me to get out from trying the new material.
"How do I look?" I ask them, twirling around for them to get a better view.
"You look prestigious!" Mom said as my cheeks went up in happiness, that I did look good in my first uniform that I ever tried. I ran straight to my full length mirror as mom and dad laughed at my behavior and what I saw in the mirror amazed me also.
The white shirt with the logo of a cursive BVH embroidered on the right side of my chest, as the deep blue blazer whose sleeves came down my wrist fit my exact body figure. Not to talk of the deep blue plated flay skirt that reaches just above my knee, and the bow tie that hung around my neck in perfection. Even I felt prestigious.
"Wow." I muttered, as I saw myself in the mirror.
"Yes wow, you look beautiful." Dad said from afar.
"I do."
I kept on walking to get to the entrance of the school which I spotted, as I saw students going in . Glancing from side to side as I walked, I took in my surroundings. Two water fountains stood at the middle of the school's compound, both at limited distance from each other, the floor covered in carpet grass as it made the environment look more like a plant reserve. The paintings of the surrounding was a mixture of blue and magenta with some little bits of red.
Upon reaching the entrance, I saw students being lined in the hallways, which once more brought fear to my chest, for 1) I was indeed the new kid, so I guess it was normal. 2) every glance I took of them showed what money was all about. That very first appearance. Knowing that if I take that step into the hallway, I was going to be officially noticed by most of them scared me, yet, I couldn't just stand there.
Could I?
No I couldn't.
Stepping into the hallway, the noises that filled in there literally showed typical high school kids, as one would think if I wasn't one. The noises erupted the air as almost everyone moved their lips, while I glanced from side to side. Fortunately no one had exactly noticed me and I was thankful for that. I wasn't ready to be the Centre of attention. Dad said all I had to do was be confident, so that's what I'm doing. He also said once I get to school, I just had to go to the principal's office to get my schedule, everything else was already processed.
"Isn't that the new girl?" I heard someone say opposite from where I walked to get my schedule. "The one who lives at the Grace mansion," and that was when I knew it was me they spoke about. All my anxiety rushed back in, as my body was now in a sympathetic position all because all eyes were on me as I stood still.
I raised my head upward trying to get a quick glance at the girl who spoke, to see if I knew her or how she knew me. Unfortunately I couldn't get to see her clearly as someone else spoke. "Damn she's hot!" I heard them speak from behind me. My legs started to feel wobbly as I couldn't move, I practically could not make sense of my environment anymore, as anything they said wasn't even passing through. I could have walked past them, but for some unknown reason, all their gaze were sticking me in.
Whispers began to flow as all who noticed me to be the girl who lives at the Grace's mansion kept on insisting it was me, while others who said things that I couldn't really pay attention to. I took another glance seeing everyone in there with their uniforms on. Some in groups of 2, 5, 7, 3 and some just in singles. Turning left my gaze, I brushed some of the guys who were in groups also, Some with the girls and some just alone.
Certainly there was this group which caught my eye.
They weren't exactly a stand by group as they didn't just stand there watching me, because I hadn't even noticed them at first. That's because they weren't there. Their appearance were different, as all of them had their blazer a color of deep blue and red collar, different from ours. They were quite a bunch of them that I couldn't even bother counting because I couldn't see them all. They stole the gaze of everyone as they walked in, even I would say I was mesmerized. Not only of how they dressed, but damn their looks were something that you only see in those movies packed with hot and handsome looking guys.
Basically, I'm saying they are hot and handsome. All of them that I could see.
"Miss Stone?" I heard someone say from behind me as I turned to look at a middled aged man, probably around his early forties, dressed in an ash suit with a black tie.
"Yes that me." I responded turning fully to face him.
"Principal Kane," He held out his hand for me to take while pronouncing his name.
"Oh, nice to meet you." I returned the gesture. "I was just coming to you.”
"Oh well that's good. Right this way then,” He gestured with his hand, as I followed him. The attention which I had just received some minutes ago, was just taken off me within seconds by the guys that came in. Well at least, I didn't have to feel their gaze on me anymore.
We walked through the hallways as students were still to be seen, which made me wonder just how many the students are. I raised my head up looking around to know my environment, as the floor didn't just stop at a one floor. It had floors. If I'm not wrong it would be going to about 5 floors.
Wow. Just wow!
I adjusted my bag which seemed to be slipping off when the principal spoke. "Right here.” He gestured for me to go in, as he held out his door for me that I didn't even know we had reached. Thank goodness he spoke, if not I think I would have hit my head with all the staring I was doing lately.
"Thank you,” I muttered to him.
"So, I'll just get your schedule and you should be on your way to your first class." He spoke closing the door, before going by his drawers. His office was really spacious for an office. It looked more like a room, and I mean a big room which it could have been mistook if not for the table at the end of the wall, the brown couch opposite it, drawers of different kinds and color, wheeled chairs and a door enclosing I think what is the bathroom.
"How did you know I was the one?" I questioned, as it seemed to have lingered in my mind.
"Well I saw your details the day you came in for your registration, I would have met you at the entrance, but I was a bit busy with some things and when I was done you were already gone. I knew you were coming in today as said by your father, so all I had to do was wait till you got here, when you did I spotted your notification when your ID was scanned. Sorry it took me a bit of time to meet you.” He spoke.
"Ohh. Its okay." I managed to say. There is so much I need to know about this place. From their validity checkpoint, to this notification stuff. Who knows what's next.
"Here we go." He spoke, bringing out a sheet of printed A4 which was my schedule.
"Thank you." I smiled at him.
"Your first class is history." Principal Kane spoke.
"Yeah. So.....um.... How do I get there?" I asked.
"Sorry my bad," He responded, which makes me smile quite a bit at his usage of words. Just like a teenager. I thought to myself. "This is a map to basically everywhere in the school. Always take it with you till you can get the hang of it, even I know it can be really confusing.” He chuckled. “Your history class is just straight ahead, take the stairs then take a left. The 3rd class by your left." He explained to me, before handing me the map.
"Thank you." I said to him, after giving it a quick glance and ready to leave.
"Miss stone?" He called from behind me, while I turned back when almost reaching the door. "Don't loose the map." He said, with a smile on his face.
"I won't." I assured him. "And principal Kane. Purple is fine." I said to him, while having a smirk on my face. His expression held that of shock and amazement as I almost burst out in laughter.
"I don't understand, you like purple?" He asked me, more like a statement than a question that even I, had no choice but to burst out in laughter.
"I guess my mom was obsessed about the color that she decided to name her only daughter the name of a color" I said to him, as he watched me with amazement in his eyes and chuckled lightly, definitely hearing something he has never heard before.
"So your name's purple?" He asks for clarification once more.
"Yes principal Kane. My name is purple."
