His Interest

Daisy met with David Sonda to discuss work for three days, and her excellent performance made David see her in a new light. "It's no wonder Miss Knight was appointed as the project manager by Mr. Nilesh. You are hardworking and creative," David complimented her, impressed by her appearance and unique ability to work. "I would love to come and see you one day." "Mr. Sonda, you are welcome to visit me and give me advice," Daisy responded respectfully, shaking hands with him. "Miss Knight may not have relaxed for three days since coming to the city. I received an invitation to a party tonight and was looking for a female companion. How about Miss Knight joining me to give me the pleasure of hosting you?" David smiled charmingly; his eyes radiated sincerity. Daisy hesitated for just a second, then nodded. "Thank you, Mr. Sonda." She wasn't one to enjoy participating in such festivities, but if she declined David's invitation right after agreeing, it might raise suspicions about using him for her benefit. She could only accept his offer. "It's my pleasure," David said with grace, glancing at his wristwatch. "We still have three hours before the party. Why don't we get ready first?" "Then I'll do as you say." Daisy chuckled slightly, her beautifully groomed eyebrows arching slightly. Later, they arrived at the venue – Blackwood Garden Hotel – before seven o'clock. The Blackwood Group had a great reputation. As soon as the deputy director, David Sonda arrived at the scene, everyone greeted him and engaged in small talk. Daisy's presence alongside him made many people curious. Daisy had never been fond of these kinds of parties where authorities and businessmen sought to build connections and business deals. She stood quietly by Sonda's side, offering a small smile. After David dealt with people who came to acknowledge him, he led her to a table. "Are you okay, Everything great so far?" David asked. Daisy also relaxed as she sat away from the crowd. "It's okay." "Maybe you're hungry, aren't you? Have some food first." David took several appetizers in a plate and handed them towards Daisy. "I'll serve myself, Mr. Sonda." Daisy said thoughtfully, "Or do you prefer this?" David insisted "Mr. Sonda, I can do it myself," Daisy was a little overwhelmed and reached for the plate. "Miss Knight, You can also call me David." David smiled a little, his eyes blinking gently. Daisy nodded in response, unable to refuse him. "Just give me the chance to serve you today. It will be my pleasure." David also took some fruits before handing Daisy the plate. "Thank you." Daisy took the plate and watched him take a glass of red wine while also handing her a glass of champagne. They talked for a while before there was a commotion near the door. Kingsley Blackwood had arrived. He was still wearing a simple white shirt and a black suit. His eyes raised slightly. His deep eyes were black and sharp, calm like a mirror but deep like the sea. Daisy was a few meters away from him, but she couldn't ignore his magnetic force. She folded her face lightly. All she wanted to do was hide. But David's lazy voice rang in her ears. "He's the CEO of Blackwood Group, Kingsley Blackwood. I'll introduce you to him later." "No... it's okay." Daisy lowered her long eyelashes as much as possible to hide her feelings. "Are you afraid of him?" David raised his face gently. Daisy smiled and shook her head, taking a bite of the appetizer before answering slowly. "I met Mr. Blackwood this morning." "Well... he's just pretending to be as cold as an iceberg. He thinks he's very handsome, but he doesn't know a lot of people in the company love me more than him." David was very proud. As they spoke, Kingsley had already walked slowly towards them. He appeared confident and elegant. Daisy watched him as he approached. Her eyes avoided him, and her heart resisted him in every way. "Miss Knight, we meet again." Kingsley's voice was sweet, with a calm charm. "Mr. Blackwood, hello." Even if Daisy avoided looking at him, she could still feel his gaze, which made her very uncomfortable. As soon as he came towards them, Daisy felt breathless. So she made an excuse to leave. "Mr. Sonda, let me leave you to continue your conversation with Blackwood. I'll step outside to get some air." After she had finished speaking, her mobile phone rang, and the only person who would call her at this time was her daughter, Doris. And as soon as the call came in, Daisy sighed. "Sorry, I have to take this call." "Wait, Daisy." David stopped her. "You have some oil on the corner of your lips." He took a tissue and tried to wipe it off, but Daisy stretched out her hand and grabbed the tissue. "No, it's okay, I'll do it myself. Thank you." David let go, and Daisy quickly wiped her lips, responding with a smile before turning away. Daisy was wearing a very loose dress, with shimmering gold threads. Under the warm light, she was as beautiful as a mermaid. David was wearing a stylish, confident white suit, matching Daisy perfectly. "You brought her to this party... Are you trying to seduce her?" Kingsley slowly turned his eyes from Daisy's back, his eyes resting on David's face. "Men usually pursue beautiful women. You know, my old man has been insisting that I find a girlfriend and get married. There's no harm in trying." David drank his wine, showing signs of helplessness. "Aren't you afraid she has a boyfriend or is already married?" Kingsley elegantly slipped one hand into his trouser pocket as he asked casually. "She's too young and cares too much about work. I don't think she has a boyfriend or a husband." David believed he was right in his head. "A woman with a boyfriend or husband wouldn't work so hard. Besides, she didn't receive any calls the whole time I was with her. Isn't that a clear sign of being single?" "Good luck, then." Kingsley straightened up and tapped him on the shoulder. He smiled but with a hint of mockery. "Cheers!" David raised his glass towards Kingsley. Kingsley then turned and walked away. He pursed his lips as he walked. He ignored how Daisy, his wife in name only, looked beautiful, but rather, he was intrigued by David's romantic interest. Was she single? That would happen after they divorced two months later. Until then, she was his legitimate wife – the wife of Kingsley Blackwood. Since she hinted to David that she was single, was she considering finding someone else after the divorce? This woman seemed innocent, but her true nature was hard to grasp. Should he act on his role as her husband and remind her that she was married?
