Time passed, and five years went by.
In the Five star Hotel back at Daisy's family city, she woke up at seven in the morning and did a final check of the equipment and documents she would use during the day.
At the same time, her phone rang, and Daisy answered the video call. A beautiful, fair-skinned girl appeared on the screen. With her thick, curved eyelashes and rose-colored lips, the young girl was as lovely as a doll.
"Mom, good morning." The young girl greeted Daisy with a sweet smile.
"Good morning, sweetheart. Mom will leave for work in ten minutes. Make sure to eat and rest well. I'll come to pick you up when I get back. Remember to listen to Aunty Jane." Daisy spoke gently and lovingly.
Due to her frequent business trips, Daisy entrusted her daughter to her friend Jane, who was a teacher at her daughter's kindergarten. It was convenient for Jane to provide transportation for her daughter.
"Mom can be work hard, and Doris will behave well not to make mom worry.“
“Don't work too hard, Mom; Doris will worry." The Five-year-old Doris shaped a small heart with her hands. "I think of you every day, Mom."
"Mom thinks of you too, my precious." Daisy felt warmth, and her eyes became teary.
After being expelled from the Knight family by her parents five years ago, Daisy had to work very hard to make sure her daughter was well taken care of. Mother and daughter relied on each other and started a new life.
However, Doris was very sensible and knew it was difficult for Daisy to work and raise her alone, so she didn't cry but instead comforted and encouraged her mother. Daisy never regretted having Doris; at least she still had a family and a home, so her daughter was her little angel.
At 8:20, Daisy left the hotel and went to the offices of Blackwood Group with her assistant. She worked for the Indian company Universal Machines, the largest company selling and installing various industrial machinery. Competition was fierce within the company, but Daisy managed to grab top positions.
Daisy dared not slack off during the four years she worked at Universal Group. She always worked harder than others. With her skill and talent, she was awarded the best employee for three consecutive years. She was promoted and given a raise.
The biggest project at the beginning of the year was the construction of a gold processing plant, invested in and built by the Blackwood Group in her home city. Kingsley Blackwood had bought gold mines and established a subsidiary company, Blackwood Gold, under the umbrella of the Blackwood Group, so he hired Universal Machines for the installation of the machinery. Naturally, Universal Machines wouldn't miss this excellent opportunity to collaborate with Black Gold in selling and installing the plant's equipment.
Daisy was selected by the design director, Nilesh Kumar, to participate in the project as the project manager. The amount of trust and encouragement placed in her made others envious.
This time, Nilesh was supposed to go with her to discuss their collaboration, but before leaving, he had a car accident and was hospitalized, so Daisy could only go with her assistant. It was also a time to prove her capabilities, aside from the expectations and care of Director Nilesh.
Standing in front of the large office building of the Nyanza Group, Daisy felt uneasy. She had been hiding for five years, but now she was going to present herself in front of Kingsley. She only hoped she wouldn't meet Kingsley. She remembered him, but she wasn't sure if he remembered her too. Fortunately, Kingsley's deputy, David Sonda, was in charge of the Blackwood Gold project.
Later, she heard that Kingsley Blackwood had left on a business trip and wouldn't be back for a few days. This news was even better for her.
On the third day, the receptionist of the Blackwood Group took Daisy and her assistant to the top floor. As soon as the elevator door opened, she stepped out. Walking towards the meeting room, unexpectedly, she met Kingsley, who was walking towards her. Daisy nearly stumbled right then and there.
This was completely contrary to her expectations! Tall and handsome Kingsley walked ahead and was a natural source of attraction. With deep-set eyes, as if there was ink flowing inside, his gaze alone captivated people.
He was at least six feet tall. A stylish black suit paired with a plain white shirt accentuated his figure perfectly. As he walked, his gentlemanly demeanor shone through, and with his long, straight legs, he was the epitome of the word captivating.
Daisy and her assistant followed the Blackwood Group receptionist and moved aside.
"Hello, Director Blackwood." The receptionist called out. Kingsley responded with a nod but didn't stop.
Daisy was filled with so much fear that she bumped into the wall as she passed, not even daring to breathe. She looked down, afraid of Kingsley recognizing her. Fortunately, he didn't see her and left quickly.
As Kingsley glanced at her, Daisy secretly breathed a sigh of relief and continued following the receptionist.
"Stop!" After Daisy took no more than two steps, a familiar voice came from behind her.
The voice sounded just as it did five years ago, authoritative and commanding. It made Daisy tremble, her palms sweating.
"You, turn around." Kingsley's eyes landed on Daisy's rigid back.
Daisy's face contorted with fear. She didn't move.
"Miss Knight, Director Blackwood is calling you." The receptionist reminded Daisy.
Daisy screamed inwardly, "I'm done for!" Then she turned slowly, facing Kingsley, but still looking down at the floor. She didn't dare to look directly at him. She felt so afraid and guilty that her legs were weak.
"Lift your head up." Kingsley fixed his gaze on Daisy, but his voice was gentle yet commanding. Daisy looked up, but Kingsley was elsewhere. As long as she didn't meet his bewitching gaze, she could calm her fear.
Daisy had a beautiful and fresh face, her eyes shining and captivating, and her lips like cherry blossoms. Her silky hair was tied in on toap of her head, without a hair out of place.
Her modified black women's suit, pencil trousers that accentuated her shapely legs, and tall white heels... This woman looked elegant from head to toe.
"Mr. Blackwood, what is it?" Daisy tried to compose herself and act normal.
"Who are you?" Kingsley's eyes narrowed slightly. As he passed her, he felt the familiar sensations leaving his body.
