The Contract

1016 Words
In a luxurious mansion, Kingsley Blackwood changed his clothes and stepped outside. His assistant, Charles, waited respectfully for his orders, bowing his head. He sat at the dining table and enjoyed the food in a delightful manner, pleasing to the eyes. But his beautiful face was not apparent, and the atmosphere around him was very calm. "Charles, it's been a few months, and you still couldn't find that woman. Do you have the capability of finding her or not?" Kingsley rubbed the rim of the cup filled with milk with his elegant fingers. At this moment, Kingsley's magnetic voice sounded like a magical charm in Charles's ears, causing him to feel a chill. "Boss, that woman used a fake ID to work at the hotel for a while. She wasn't employed by the hotel. She's always been alone. I heard she's a foreigner, and she changed the surveillance videos that night, so..." Charles didn't dare to say more and waited silently for Kingsley's punishment. Kingsley didn't speak, and there was neither joy nor anger on his stern face. He just drank the milk slowly. The memory of his encounter with Daisy easily lingered in his mind like a dream. After coming out of the shower that day, he felt completely relaxed, and the woman he had been with for one night had disappeared along with the money. But the black-red flowers blooming on the white sheets after that act were very captivating, reminding him that it wasn't a dream. Her youth and beauty made him lose his mind and control. He was tempted, and he wanted to indulge in her body. He couldn't resist missing the beauty of that night. Because the lights were dim, he couldn't remember her attractive face well to identify her. Kingsley shook his head. What had come over him? He was attracted to someone he didn't know, a woman who dared to involve him in her scheme! He chuckled somewhat arrogantly. It was just that this woman who dared to plot against him... would pay the price. Kingsley narrowed his eyes slightly, and his animosity grew heavier... Charles felt like he was about to faint because of that pressure. "Boss... Boss, if I don't find this woman... I'll go back to my home town." Charles clenched his fist, determined to achieve his goal. He couldn't let the woman ruin his track record of competence; it would only be shameful for him. Listening to him, Kingsley looked up slowly, and his cold eyes fell on Charles. His gaze was as cold and sharp as cutting ice. He gently placed the cup of milk down and said softly, "No need." Charles was surprised and looked at his wise boss... Had he just had a dream? Or did the boss find him unworthy? "Boss, give me another chance. If I can't complete this task, I'll accept any kind of punishment." Charles was resolute. Kingsley gave him a cold look. "I said no. Leave and get ready. We'll leave for the company in five minutes." By then, Charles finally felt relieved and let out a sigh of relief. Indeed, there was another reason for finding the woman from that night. He needed a loyal wife. Since he had money, problems could be solved with money. He didn't need emotions in a relationship; emotions could be tough. A contractual marriage based on mutual benefits wouldn't be a burden once they separated. And so when he was looking for candidates, he first thought of that mysterious woman. *****”****”*********************** Daisy left the city after being expelled by the Knight family.
