Prologue
It was a cold night, the moon was shining bright, the street was silent. Eric was walking to the book cafe he usually go to, carrying a bag containing books.
He was wearing a white shirt, a blue jacket, and a white jean. Although it was night, he wanted to go to that cafe and return the book he have borrowed.
He entered the cafe and was greeted by a girl mopping the floor. The girl turned to him and smiled, “Hey! What are you doing here so late at night?”
“I'm here to return the book i borrowed. I was o my way home anyway so i came by to return it,” Eric replied using his barely audible voice. He was tired because of the long day at school and the papers he have to finish before going back home.
“Oh, you can just put them on the counter," the petite girl stated, pointing at the counter.
”Alright."
The dark haired boy placed his bag of books on the counter and sat on the chair.
“Can i have a blueberry cupcake?” the boy asked the girl who were now approaching the counter.
“Sure, just wait. I think we still have them in the pantry.” the girl head to the kitchen and left Eric alone.
“Thank you,” the boy mumbled resting his head on the counter table, still feeling exhausted.
A moment later, the bell rang that indicates someone came in to the store. Eric remained on his sit, not bothering to look at who came in.
“You're in luck! This is the last blueberry cupcake and the last pastry for the day!” the girl came out of the kitchen and place the said cupcake infront of Eric.
“That's the last one?” someone suddenly said from behind Eric, the man's deep voice making the darked haired boy curious of who he is.
“Oh, Leo. Yes, it is.” the small girl smiled at the two boys and told them she would be at the kitchen.
Eric look at the man standing behind him. The man have a long brown hair that was tied on a low ponytail, He was wearing glasses, and he was tall.
“I'll have this. Thank you very much,” the brunette man said and reached out for the cupcake.
“Hey! That's mine!” the short boy tried to take the cupcake from the tall beanpole but failed to do so as the man, or rather say boy cause he looks young despite his height, was 6 feet and he was just a small 5'4.
“You're super short!” the tall brunette chimed, laughing at how Eric was tiny.
“Stop it! Give it back!” the short boy still tried to get the cupcake from the laughing brunette.
“Oi. The two of you need to get home,” the girl suddenly popped out of nowhere, “It's getting late. You kids need to get out, I'm closing.”
The two boys stopped what they were doing and followed the walking older female out of the cafe, as she close.
“Here, shorty.” the brunette suddenly pushed the cupcake inside Eric's mouth when it opened and chuckled as the dark haired boy choked.
“See ya', shorty!” the brunette teasingly said, as he walked away.
Eric looked at the retreating brunette, hating the way the brunette teased him.
