Chapter 19 - Progress?

Logan’s POV

After Leah’s fun experiment this morning Luke joined us for breakfast.  I was feeling a little jealous over Leah’s interest in Luke, I hadn’t seen her this animated before.  I could tell from Lukes body language though that he saw Leah more as a sister which calmed me, plus Leah would brush against my hand which helped.  I had really discussed many of Leah’s interests with her before but obvious agriculture and community was really important to her.  Maybe this would be a great place for her to start as future Luna of the pack.  

After breakfast Leah suggested I train, feeling comfortable with Luke presents I made my way out to the training field.  Just after arriving I got a mind link from Luke “Hey bro, can I take Leah for a tour of the pack lands”.  “Luke I’m not sure it's still pretty risky, members don’t really know she’s a white wolf yet” I replied back.  “Duke you can’t keep her locked up forever, she might resent you” “Fine I growled but I’m sending two guards to stay with you in there wolf form”, “Whatever bro” he responded before ending the link.  I love him, he’s my brother but I will hurt him if anything happens to her.

Leah’s POV

After racing through the forest Luke led us to a wide open space, I mean wide!  The ground was flat like there had been farmer's fields previously there and a beautiful river ran along the edge.  Luke went behind the guards and shifted putting on a robe so I went behind the other guard and did the same.  “Wow, this looks like the perfect place for a farm,” I said excited to Luke.  “Exactly!  When my great great grandfather was Alpha this was the pack farm.  Unfortunately it was destroyed during an attack and the pack was so dwindled down they did rebuild.  I’ve been thinking about this land since my Father showed me.  I used this area as part of a project in school. I just don’t know how to approach Logan about it” Luke said.  “What do you mean?” I asked.  “Logan has never taken me that seriously” he said looking at the ground.  “What don’t you tell me about your plan?” Luke's eyes lit up.  “Okay, well first I would excavate the entire area for the field, but build an underground greenhouse under the field that way we can plant year round.  The fields would have a cement base from the underground greenhouse which would help with keeping the soil perfect.  We would have a farming community here with an area for livestock”.  “That sounds really smart Luke, do you have a plan with you at the pack house?” I asked.  “Yes of course”, “Okay let's go over it together then we can present it to Logan together” Luke smiled.  “Let's go back. I have ideas for a community around the pack house” I said as I walked behind the guard and shifted back into Crystal and let her lead me back.

Once back at the pack house I shifted and dressed and Luke followed me.  “I was thinking we could build a community with stores, houses, school, daycare, and a pack hospital” I told Luke.  “Wow that's ambitious” Luke said “But totally awesome, what were you thinking?”.  “I want to build on to the packhouse, there would be a wing for the school and daycare, and another wing for the hospital.  If we moved all the ranking and mated wolves out of the packhouse into houses we could make room for more unmated and possible students from other packs to go to school here too.  If there still isn’t enough room for everyone we could build apartments too” Luke's eyes lit up “I love it” he said.  “Love what?” I heard from behind me as I turned to see Logan approaching.  “Your mate is full of great ideas bro” Luke said.  “Well I can’t wait to hear them” Logan replied putting an arm around me.  Luke hadn’t really shown a lot of PDA so I was a little confused.  “Well I’ll leave you two” Luke said, turning and heading back to the packhouse.  “Do you want to tell me your ideas?” Logan asked me.  “Sure, let's go for a walk and I grabbed his hand so I could guide him through my idea.

After explaining to Logan the idea we walked back behind the pack house.  I hadn’t noticed the vegetable garden out there before mind you hadn’t really explored this much past Logan’s office and room.  Logan sat on the grass pulling me down with him.  I layed down with my head in his lap.  This was the most physical interaction we had had besides cuddling in bed.  “Logan, how old are you?” I’m 26 Love, why?” “Does it upset you that I’m 10 years younger than you?” I asked.  “No why would you think that?”, “This is the most physical interaction we have had so I was starting to wonder if you saw me more of a sister than Mate”.  Logan sighed and paused for a moment, “Leah everything inside me wants to mark you and make you mine, I know doing it would also protect you from whoever is after you, but it’s not just my choice, you need to be ready and coming into your powers are important.  I have to hold myself back until the time is right for both of us” Logan finally said.  “Logan, can I try something?” I said sitting up.  “Anything Love”.  I leaned in to Logan and planted a soft kiss on his lips “Mmhm, I love the taste” I said pulling back.  “I Love you my love” Logan said pulling me up and hugging me as we walked. back to the pack house. 

Logan’s POV

Leah really amazed me today, Luke's presents have really brought her out of her shell and she really seems to enjoy being around him.  Luke is 20 years old so maybe it’s because they're closer in age, but they really seem to share some interests.  Maybe I won’t try to find something for Luke to do too quickly as she seems to love having Luke around.  Leah took the day of training her magic today which I think she really needed.  I have asked the pack Omega’s to prepare the private dining room tonight for dinner for the King, Queen, Angela, Luke, Dean, Chris and their mates, Leah and myself.  It will be nice just to have a fun dinner and good conversations.

During dinner, Charles asked Luke a lot of questions about school.  Luke looked so excited explaining everything he had learned.  “Luke, what don’t you tell us about the farm project you did for school?” Leah spoke up.  Luke's eyes lit up as he told everyone about the project.  I hadn’t spent any time with Luke when he went away to school, but it was obvious he had grown a lot and was passionate about what he studied.  I really needed to spend more time with my brother.  Dinner lasted late into the night as the conversation flowed.  Leah and I were the first to retire to our room.  After we changed for bed Leah snuggled into me and instantly fell asleep.  I brushed her hair from her face and planted a kiss on her forehead before I closed my eyes and fell asleep too.
