Chapter 11

We had gotten into his apartment with everywhere looking almost done, the living room had been painted in all white, a bar at the corner of the living room filled with drinks, chairs still covered up in wraps, and a fluorescent light. The room wasn’t yet arranged totally but a lot has been done within the short time.

I laid Jessie down on one of the chairs because she was already asleep by the time we got upstairs.

“When did you get all of this done, There was nothing here yesterday,” Micheal asked looking around

“It was done today, I paid an interior decor and they have just a maximum of three days to get this place fixed”

“You are full of surprises Nick,” I said going into the other rooms while Angela followed with Felicia leaving the guys in the living room”

“Unbelievable they did all of this today,” Angela said in awe

“I love this lamp and have been wanting to get it, I saw it online,” Felicia said touching the lamp beside the bed

“This room is practically set, am sure he is not going back to the hotel tonight,” I said

“I think so too, he didn’t bring his luggage with him he will have to go back for it tomorrow,” Angela said sitting on the bed

“Felicia have been wanting to talk to you for a while now, I know have behaved badly to you, am sorry from the depth of my heart”

“Am not angry Bridgett, if I was, I wouldn’t be here. I am also sorry because my pet keeps messing up your place and I didn’t realize it,” she said

“Ay you ladies need to hug it out,” Angela said

“Yea we should,” Felicia said opening her arms for me

“Thank you dear,” I said holding her so tight to myself

“This is so nice to watch,” she said clapping her hands

“And it feels so good relieving myself of the baggage I was carrying in my heart, am never taking that man’s fight no more,” I said waving my hands

“She must be the neighbor you talked about”

“Yea she is, you really do not forget”

“Not for too long ma’am” We both laughed

“I see you guys have really talked about this issue very much”

“Not really my dear, it's complicated,” Angela said and Felicia nodded

“Okay let's go back into the living room with all sorted out, we just left the guys there. They must be wondering what we are doing in here” Angela said

I felt a lot better talking to Felicia, have been looking for an opportunity to talk to her but I was too ashamed of myself to do that.

When we got into the living room, we met the guys sitting on the couch, drinking wine and chatting.

“So you guys are having fun without us,” Felicia said from behind me

“You guys left us and decided not to come back, but however we are sorry,” Micheal said standing up to bring us our cups, while the other ladies sat beside their partners

“I wonder what you guys have been talking about,” Angela said

“We aren’t asking what you guys have been up to inside there so why do you care my love,” Nicholas said removing her hair from her face

“Alright, I don’t even wanna know

“It's nothing serious ladies just some random talks, and getting to know me,” James said

“Okay here you go,” Micheal said handing the cups over to us while he poured the drink into it

“Thank you,” Felicia and Angela both said

“It's my wife’s birthday next weekend guys” Micheal announced

“Wow! I have seriously forgotten it's your birthday soon” Nicholas said looking at me

“And you will say you love me,” I said while he covered his face

“Happy birthday in advance Mrs. Macaulay,” James said

“Thank you, James”

“Happy birthday in advance Bridget” Felicia also said

I replied mouthing, thank you

“So what plans do you have in mind, how do you intend to celebrate it,” Angela said

“I really don’t know, most of my birthdays I just do picnicking nothing much, but I love to do something entirely different this year”

“I have an idea, we could start with an early birthday treat like coming to my Spa,” Felicia said sipping her wine

“Oh my God! You seriously own a spa” I asked surprised

“Yes I do,” she said nodding her head

“You could take it as an early birthday present”

“Are you for real?” I asked with so much excitement in my voice

“Yes for sure, we would have it as girls' day out, all three of us”

“I thought I was exempted, that so kind of you Felicia”

“You are far too kind” I stood up leaving my drink on the table to hug her. “Thank you, it has been so long since I got a gift from anyone apart from my husband”

“You are welcome my darling”

“Ohh! am jealous it has been like forever since I got a gift from anyone,” Nicholas said in a puerile manner

Everyone laughed
