She looked at me with her big brown eyes. After feeding her, I know she is feeling sleepy. If there is something that have learnt about her, is that after having her lunch, she wants to nap.

she rubbed the back of her hand on her eyes. I quickly picked her up to clean her body.

I carried her into her bathtub, and as soon as I sprinkled the water on her head she giggled. I smiled back at her while I washed her body.

Marilyn is everything have ever wanted. She is so peaceful and soft, I’d not been taught that raising a child would be this smooth. I think she made it so easy.

When I told Micheal about my intention of adopting a child. He gave his consent unchallenging. He looked through the resources and options available for adopting a child. He contacted a licensed adoption agency, then our home was inspected.

The process of adopting Marilyn was super easy, within three months we were done. The instants we met, we connected. Her big bright eyes caught me, as soon as I set my eyes on her, and I fell in love with her. It was as if she was there waiting for me, and we were matched.

We brought her home, and she had the room that we’ve always wanted our child to have. Even though she is not my biological child, from the moment I brought her into our home, she is ours now and forever. I would love her unconditionally and care for her with all my being.

Micheal has been very supportive and warm extraordinarily. He loves Marilyn as much as I do. He shows her a lot of gifts and attention. When I watch them together I feel fulfilled, this made me wonder why I haven’t thought of adoption, until recently

The words of the woman I met in the ladies sow positivity in my life. When she told me, she adopted her child, at first I thought her statement was unnecessary. But later when I recalled her statements, I knew at once that I was supposed to have a child either legally or biologically.

The park was so immersive and full of magic.

“Look at your tiny body,” I said lifting Marilyn, I rubbed my nose on hers and she giggled

I lay her on the bed, and she picked up her teddy toy. I wiped her body with a towel, wore her a sleeveless blue gown, and packed her black hair up with a pink ribbon

“You guys are here”

“Oh my God,” I said startled “How did you get in here Felicia”

“Sorry, your door wasn’t locked” She laughed so hard and fell on the bed, she put her head on Marilyn’s stomach tinkling her

“I can’t believe I didn’t lock the door, lord help me”

“Yes, you didn’t, have been knocking and you didn’t respond, then I let myself in”

“It must be when I went to the grocery store, before feeding Marilyn”

“Marilyn keeps you very busy,” she said carrying her on her lap

“Yes she does,” I said rubbing my forehead

“You do this so well”

“It not been that easy but Marilyn makes child upbringing effortless and with the help of Angela, we were prepared emotionally and physically”

“Good for you, my dear,” she said patting my shoulder

“Thank you,” I said smiling “I think she is asleep” let lay her on the bed”

“Okay,” she said putting her down

“Let's go into the sitting room, so we won’t disturb her with our talk,” I said standing up while she followed me.

“Angela called me earlier today,” Felicia said sitting on the couch

“Her schedule must be very tight,” I said sitting next to her

“Baby girl is so booked”

“Yeah, she is, I hope she is not overworking herself”

“I trust her, she wouldn’t dare, Nicholas won’t allow her to do much work, even if she wants to”

Angela's assistance boosted and enriched Micheal and me mentally during the process of the adoption. She gave us counseling before and after the adoption. We had parenting classes and support groups and discussed parenting styles, attachment, and a child’s development needs.

She was a major push although the others too coddled Marilyn so much. Nicholas and James wouldn’t stop showering her gifts whenever they come visiting.

“Bridget, so what's your plan for the party”

“I just want something with family and friends, just a mini party”

“You know am so good at things like this,” she said winking

“Yeah you do, I don’t know if you would like to eat or drink anything”

“Don’t worry, you know if I want something I would have requested it”

“Okay, so what would you suggest”

“As soon as you texted me about it, I drafted some things out in my phone,” she said unlocking her phone while I sat back

“just like you’ve said something small in the house, decorations with balloons and streamers. She would have Jessie and a few other kids to play with and prepare her favorite meal. We could just do it like a birthday party since you said she had her third birthday a few weeks before the adoption process was finalized.

“Okay let's get it,” I said clapping my hands, excitedly “I know you wouldn’t disappoint me, you’re such a genius,” I said rubbing her head

“Oh God! Don’t mess my hair,” she said arranging her hair back “Nevertheless thank you”

“You would get it done at the spa, that's no big deal”

“I can’t believe we have another party to plan again, isn’t it just two months ago, we planned Angela’s wedding”

“We are unbelievable,” I said adjusting my shirt

“It's just as if, our friendship is just all about the good kinds of stuff and celebration,” she said beaming “I love it”

“I love it too,” I said whispering and grinning while she laughed
