Chapter 1 New Life
Smoke billowed upward, obscuring the sky with its thick mixture of gray and red hues, casting an eternal shroud upon this world. The air shimmered with countless crimson particles, a display of the fire element's formidable power, unleashed without restraint. All the inhabitants of this island sought refuge in their shelters, knowing all too well that the time for a volcanic eruption had arrived. Molten lava surged forth like a mighty spring, unleashing nature's most violent fury from the depths of the earth. Destruction was its aspect, yet it also symbolized new life. The island's inhabitants referred to this period as the eruption season. A slow-moving river of red magma wound its way across the land. Along the path, some sections of the molten rock gradually cooled, solidifying into dark-colored stones. At the same time, some rocks on the sides of the river couldn't bear the scorch, then eventually dissolve and merge with the flow. Amidst this spectacle, a spherical creature emerged from the lava river. Its entire form consisted of crimson liquid, lacking limbs and a stable shape. This being serves as a central character in our story. Among the most common creatures in this fiery realm, it constantly experiences birth and death, made of a cycle in the Fire Elemental world. "Thomas, Thomas Ash. That is my name -- I am Thomas Ash!" A voice suddenly appears to his mind, and he reads it out loud without thinking, proclaiming his existence to the world. There are some other fire elements nearby doing the same things as well. Every creature in the world has their real name, it isn't only just a nickname for a call, but also a sign for themselves. These intelligent beings possess a spiritual light in their eyes, a gleam absent in mere beasts. "This feels so soothing." Thomas submerged half his body in the lava, a serene expression adorning his face. Born from the magma, the fire element thrived in this environment, finding solace within its fiery embrace. The ground continued to tremble, and debris sporadically cascaded down the mountainside—an enduring aftermath of the volcanic eruption. However, the island's inhabitants had grown accustomed to such occurrences, seeking refuge in their secure caverns. A wolf with fiery red fur even closed its eyes, relishing the tranquility of the temporary ceasefire. Only the exuberant slimes displayed their unbridled excitement, bounding about without care. Amidst the apparent calm, Thomas and the other newly formed fire elementals remained unaware of the immense challenge that lay ahead. As we gaze upon the island from above, it has an irregular shape. It looks like a trapezoid and forms part of a cluster of neighboring islands. Dominating the island's core stands a colossal volcano, its undulating terrain branching out across the land. It can be said that the island is a volcano, and the volcano is the island. The lava river continues its relentless journey, ultimately leading to a vast basin as its final destination. However, an imposing obstacle lies ahead—a towering cliff, several hundred meters high, forcing the lava river to cascade down, creating a magnificent waterfall. Lava mixed with a large amount of solid rock from the height of hundreds of meters, the huge impact caused by the sound of the loudest background sound of the island at the moment. Previously, fallen magma had been at the bottom of the basin and converged into a small lake. At first, Thomas was unfazed by the noise, and like the other fire elementals, he was moving slowly forward, swept along by the flowing lava. Along the way, Thomas witnessed many wonderful things. He saw a rabbit capable of spewing fireballs, spewing fiery flames from its mouth in a stunning display of power. Gaining off a stone the size of Thomas' head. And there was a bear covered with a layer of hard rock armor on the surface. Some faint black smoke emitted from the c***k of armor. When they saw the newborn fire elementals flowing with the waves in the lava river, they all had a mysterious smile on their faces. The smile with some gloating , along with a hint of reminiscence. The newborn fire elementals looked like curious babies as they frolicked and played while trying to leave the lava and walk to the riverbank. One of the fire elementals near the edge of the lava decided to try to leave the lava. However, as soon as he left the lava, half of his body quickly melted like ice cream in the middle of summer, leaving only a large orange ball of light that hastily re-hid in the lava. The color of orange became much lighter. Thomas gets horrible from deep heat and realizes that the orange core is an important part of his body. This scene made the other fire elementals feel frightened and not daring to act at will, including Thomas. In this way, the fire elementals were wrapped in the rapids of magma and gradually approached the tall cliffs.
