EPISODE 3

1480 Words
When Samuel and Jack arrived, the chapel was half-full. Samuel noted that the auditorium could easily accommodate 1000 people and admired the structure of the building. Jack looked around desperately for a nice spot from where they could get a good view and discovered one that was exactly right. They both sat down, and Samuel had the impression that he was about to have a great time in God's presence. ************************************************************************************ SARAH POV: My mind started racing as the usher escorted me to my seat, asking so many questions: what if I fall down on the stage? What if my voice becomes shaky? What if...? I stood like the biblical pillar of salt, staring at the one person I thought I would never see with my own eyes. Adam was also standing there, appearing as if he was face to face with a ghost. I was curious if he believed I should be dead. He was ready to say something, but I think my looks warned him, and he swallowed his words. As I stood next to the usher, who had been staring at us, puzzled, I thought to myself, "Wise choice." I didn't notice the crowd as I followed her; all I saw was an opportunity to show Adam that I wasn't a piece of garbage. ***************************************************************************************** TONY POV: Because of the just purchased split air conditioner, the sitting room was extremely chilly, the led TV was on and playing cool music videos, but Tony could not relax. His buddy had been unconscious for two days and was still in the hospital. He had been there all night and was compelled to return home today to freshen up. Tony got up and walked to the bar to get a drink, but he hadn't tried it yet when his mind began to wander. He recalled his phone conversation with Harry about how he encouraged him to come over so they could both attend an event the following day. He drank a cup of wine at a time, and before he knew it, he'd emptied the bottle, but he couldn't get rid of the guilt that was weighing on his mind. He couldn't stop the tears from welling up in his eyes as he remembered how much he loved Harry. He moved over to a photo frame on the wall that said, 'Jesus is Lord.' As he glanced at it, he realized he just had one option. ******************************************************************************************** SARAH POV: I had to confess that the concert's title, "Opening Heaven's Gate," was not an exaggeration. The atmosphere seemed to be infused with God's might, and the singers seemed to have angelic voices  even though I had never heard an angel's voice before. “We would now like to welcome a young girl whom God truly took the time to design and package,” I heard as I was immersed in my own world. After molding her, he implanted an angelic voice in her throat that is unrivaled. Please join your hands as we meet .  Miss Sarah Marcus,  My heart began to beat 100 meters per second, and I remained seated for a few seconds until I mustered the confidence to rise up. I grinned as I approached the program coordinator to take the microphone. I stood in front of the assembly and immediately hoped I could vanish, but that did not happen. Then I realized Adam was among them, and everyone seemed to fade before my eyes. I had previously arranged for a piano to be placed on the altar, so I introduced myself and the song after taking a deep breath. Because I didn't have any backup, I decided to sing a song I'd composed myself, so I sat down at the piano and the show began. ********************************************************************************************** SAMUEL POV: Samuel knew his attendance was not a mistake as soon as the music began to play, but he felt he was looking for something more. His attention was immediately drawn to his phone when he received a text message. As he heard someone speak, his head snapped up, but his breath was sucked away as he peered at the thin figure on the altar. Her curves were highlighted brilliantly by the sky blue filmy gown she wore. She was the epitome of figure 8 in every way. leaving   the gown aside, the first thing that caught his attention was the hair; long and black, and oh-so-beautiful. He is compelled to touch it to feel the texture. All the words that came to him could not do justice to the work of art as his eyes traveled fully to the face. Her eyes appeared to be telling a tale. Her eyes shone with a bright glare after a brief period of doubt. He yearned to be near her in order to unravel the mysteries that lay behind her gaze. Her music, more than anything else, completely blew his head. As her delicate fingers touched the keyboard, he locked his gaze on her. She appeared to effortlessly lure everyone into her song, and it was over in seconds. Samuel found himself listening to the lyrics of the song as Jack had stepped out to take a phone call from Hannah, the damsel in distress who had captivated his heart and had been away throughout the program. Samuel wished he was closer to capture the lady in blue as she concluded her song, rose up, and curtsied with a gorgeous expression on her face. The applause was thunderous, and Samuel joined in. Samuel was glancing around like he was looking for something when Jack arrived 5 minutes after Sarah's presentation. “Are you on the lookout for me?” Jack enquired. “This outrageously long discussions you have with Hannah would soon get you in trouble,” Samuel said, as if he had sprouted horns. You've just missed the evening's best performance." "When you allow yourself to love again," Jack muttered, "you'll find yourself doing the same thing." So, who did the singing?” When Samuel opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out, he realized he was Africa's biggest fool. ***************************************************************************************** HANNAH POV: Hannah was standing on the porch of her father's house, thinking about her soul mate, "Jack." She reflected on the first time she saw him, despite the fact that it was not a good day. She had been dejectedly standing on the roadside. She was on the verge of crying, and she felt ridiculous. She had gone to see her lover, but she had to flee after he attempted to r**e her. Her parents expected her to be pure until marriage, and that fool thought he'd seen a fool. She was fortunate in having her bag close to the entrance, but after trekking a short distance, her bag was stolen from her, leaving her with only her shirt, trouser, and flat shoe. She stood by the side of the road, and no matter how much she despised it, she had no choice but to stop a private vehicle. The first car she got into happened to be Jack's, and as soon as he agreed to carry her, she got in and didn't even look at him for the rest of the ride. Jack wanted to say something because he wasn't used to being neglected, but as he looked at her, he discovered she was crying quietly, so he remained silent. Even though she insisted on coming down earlier, he dropped her off at her doorstep. Hannah was disappointed when he departed since she didn't appreciate his assistance, but after a few days, she had completely forgotten about him. Two weeks later, he showed up on her doorstep, and the rest is history. Hannah smiled as she walked inside from the balcony, because she had chosen to include another person in their excursion after seeing the image she had taken with Sarah. **************************************************************************************** TONY POV: It is said that you remember your creator only when you are in difficulties, but I would counsel you to remember your creator all of the time so that hardship will flee from you. Tony arrived at the Church to find it empty. He hadn't attended to church in over two months, so he was taken aback when he saw some changes. He walked towards the altar, looking like a prodigal son, and when he got there, he knee down and stared blankly. He glanced at the pulpit, recalling how the pastor had lectured about Faith before, but it had made little sense to him at the time. He clung to the pulpit and tried to speak to God, but nothing came out of his mouth, so he let his thoughts speak for him. After a few minutes, he lay down on the altar and felt at peace. All of his worries and thoughts appeared to fade away, and he was fast asleep.
