Bullet Knight: A Mercenary's Journey to Another World

Over the mountain ranges where chaos and destruction fight day and night. Warriors from across the country battle one another , as I watch the situation at the top of the mountain ranges. A mysterious entity suddenly appeared before me. Glaring at me with cold eyes as she pointed her sword towards me. Just as I reacted to it, I immediately held my weapon like I was about to strike. Showing a huge grin on my face. I swear to you, I will survive in this world. I will protect who I hold dear. Whoever tries to take them away from me will be killed. Even if they declare me an Enemy of Humanity. “Ahh, what a strange dream.” My name is Fujioka Kazuki. I am a 3rd year high school student. Well, I’m more of a nerd in my class. I recently started playing video games. During my time as a third year high school student I didn't make that many friends. Well, I’m not really a total shut-in- I just don’t like talking with people who don't have an interest in any of my hobbies or anyone in common. But I do make friends who have the same hobbies as me. I always wanted to do something thrilling in life, where I would go for a journey or travel to any country I wanted to go. I don’t want to live this bland and boring life. I felt stuck in this life of mine. I recently discovered the world of Anime and started to love it. My family forced me to move out of the house to find opportunities; they sent me my allowance every month to pay for necessities in my new place. I recently discovered a popular game that has become trendy online, so I tried to play it for myself. It was a dating simulator, a game where you could date cute girls. It is a dream of every otaku like me. One of my friends suggested playing a dating simulator game, the same game that I saw online. Well, let’s try playing it for myself then. “Hey, check this out” “What’re you doing?” “It’s an eroge, do you know about it?” “Uhh… No” “Kinda nice if you play it though.” “Yeah, I’ll check it out later.” As days passed by, Kazuki started playing the game his friends recommended to him; as time went by, he continued playing until dawn. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “I’m tired. Wait, what time is it?” “Ah s**t I’m late.” He jumped out of bed at an extreme pace, then dashed out of the house until he reached his destination. After the bell rang, he continuously ran all the way to his room. As he entered his classroom, Kazuki was met with an unwelcoming aura; his days would be more troublesome when these three idiots confront him. Kazuki ignored them like they weren’t there as he walked towards his own seat. However, there would be a nosy and teasing person sitting next to him. “Man, you sleep like a rock, what did you do last night?” “I bet you’ve been playing. That’s why you’re always tired in class.” “Ew, you played those erogenous games every night? That’s disappointing.” Kazuki tried to reason with them, as they made fun of him like it’s their everyday schedule. What did they find so entertaining, bursting into laughter like that? The one who kept meddling with him, his name is Hayate Nakamura, was the one who kept teasing Kazuki every day. The other two students who were with him were Nakamura Ichiro, and Tanaka Kazuko. Overall, it was these three idiots who frequently harassed Kazuki. Kazuki was an otaku, and even though he’s been called nasty, that doesn’t mean his actions and appearances were terrible to be seen. His hair is trimmed and always dressed properly. He doesn’t get involved in problematic behaviour; his honesty and polite appearance doesn’t strike a sense of disgust. He’s just into Anime, Games, Movies, and Manga. On the same day, a female student was walking towards his desk glaring at Kazuki with a sweet smile as she went towards him. “Good morning, Kazuki-kun. Late as usual, I see!” One female student smiled happily as she walked past Kazuki’s desk. In this school, those who were on friendly terms with Kazuki were a minority of people who had the same hobbies as him. The girl was called Fujikawa Akari. Her reputation is very popular among our classmates. She's one of the goddesses of this classroom. Regarding her personality, she’s popular because of her beauty and appearance; she also participates in various club events, making her even more recognizable. Many students like her, most of the boys in her class, gain interest in her. So why would Akari care about me? Due to the influence of staying up all night playing video games, Kazuki dozed off in class. Because of his unreasonable behaviour, Kazuki becomes inattentive in class. Akari still cares for him even though she’s very popular and many people admire her. As for Kazuki, he chooses his hobbies. “Thanks for worrying about me, Akari-san. ” “No problem, by the way, you’re kinda interesting to talk to, Kazuki-kun.” Why are they glaring at me with a murderous aura? Under the silent gaze of everyone, Kazuki could only bitterly smile as he replied to Akari. Following that, Akari wore a very joyful expression. Why is she revealing such an expression?!Even people around Kazuki gazed at him more violently, which caused him to tremble and break a cold sweat. Kazuki always felt this was impossible. Why would the most beautiful girl in class care so much about him? Kazuki already knew about Akari to treat him so well other than her nature. I think there is a reason for that. “Kazuki-kun good morning, isn't it hard getting teased every day?” “Well, is Akari looking after him again? Seriously, you're too kind.” “That uninteresting guy is hopeless no matter how much you say to him.” The only one who greeted him among the four was Akari’s best friend. She was called Takahashi Aiya. The long and silky hair was her trademark. Her gorgeous appearance and her sharp eyes were her charm, and her sharp and cool personality made her very popular among her classmates. She’s also athletic and participated in every school event; she also participated in the Kendo tournament and proved unbeatable. It would be better to say she was elegant. She was considered tall among the other girls. Next, the one who is beside Aiya is called Adachihara Daichi. He is an enthusiastic person. His grades are good and he always encourages his classmates to go forward and gives them motivation. His grades are higher than average despite having an astonishing reputation in the school. He kinda doesn't like unmotivated people like Kazuki; he rather gives him a harsh gaze and ignores him. But until that morning when me and Akari were chatting, he had no choice but to show a cold smile at Kazuki and attempt to make things good. Aiya had already noticed Akari’s feelings for Kazuki, but she hesitated to act normal between the two of them. Aiya also wanted to defend Kazuki from meddling and let him do what he wanted to do. As they returned to their seats, Akari left a good glance at Him. Kazuki felt confused, but then, since it’s all over, he dozed off in class until the bell rang. The third person in the group was a male student called Ito Katashi. Under that cold look, he is cheerful and sometimes helpful to his friends, not to mention he is pretty athletic. He’s 189 cm tall and his body is purely muscle. He prioritises his classmates in terms of a helping hand. Same with Daichi, Katashi doesn’t like people like Kazuki. He finds them disgusting and hopeless, but Kazuki doesn’t care since he doesn’t find any problems with him. The last one of the group is called Ichinose Kaito; he’s one of the most intelligent and more of a nerd among the Three. Fortunately, he has no negative opinion towards Kazuki; he also has these sorts of hobbies but doesn’t want them to be revealed. Kaito has an average height and an average body mass; he is a nerd but not too much of a nerd; he spends his time with Daichi along with the three students. “Good morning Adachihara-san, Takahashi-kun, Ito-san and Ichinose-san. Haha, this is uhh, an awkward situation, but please consider what you saw right now” Kazuki laughed bitterly as he returned to their greetings ‘Do you have the right to talk to Takahashi-san? Huh!?’ After the greetings, he could feel the line of spikes around him. Aiya holds more popularity than Akari. Together they were a living goddess. “Since you understand your own conduct, why don’t you fix it? Until when are you going to stop taking advantage of Akari's kindness? She won’t protect you forever, you know?” Daichi gave Kazuki a word of advice. From his perspective, Akari’s intentions were wasted on a dishonourable student like Kazuki. “Daichi-kun, I like talking to Kazuki-kun against my own will.” Akari replied to Daichi’s cold advice to Kazuki, but then again, Akari still refused to let him go. Many people encourage Kazuki to change, but this doesn’t have any effect because of his hobbies. He loves his hobbies more than anything else. Back when he was living with his parents, his father was a business manager and his mother was a shounen mangaka author. His parents have successful jobs. Even his parents signed him up for a part-time job. But he rather wanted to live a peaceful school life. If only I hadn't been so concerned about myself, then i would have lived a perfect school life. During his days he was also concerned about his future self. He sometimes dreamed about his future career. But I don't think he could do it in his current state. “No way, uh haha… I’ll think about it.” Aiya resolved the situation and secretly apologised to Kazuki. On the other hand, Kazuki acted like nothing had happened and smiled. As Daichi and the others went back to their respective seats, Akari left a good glance at Kazuki. He was curious as to why she made a hasty impression. Minutes before the bell rings, he prepares his desk for today’s session. “Oh no, the teacher is here, go back to your place.” “Hey guys! The bell already rang, didn't you hear?” Kazuki suddenly woke up from his classmates, and in this situation everyone in the classroom, as he restored consciousness. He immediately prepared himself as he deeply apologized to the teacher for sleeping in class. The teacher let that one slide in, as she got the attendance record from her drawer, Kazuki gave a sigh of relief. He was off the hook for now. “All right students, it’s time to check your attendance” “Hey, Kazuki, wake up. Class is about to start.” “Huh? Ahh Good Morning Ichika-sensei” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All the students ran towards their seats as the bell rang for the first session this morning as teachers entered their scheduled class. Perhaps the teacher is already used to this kind of noisy environment. She didn’t say anything nor scold anyone, she walked through the teacher’s desk and started checking the student’s attendance. Kazuki raised his face from the desk, and took seconds to look around the classroom, realising most of the students dashed all the way to the canteen to buy their lunch. The number of students has decreased a lot. The majority of the students went to the canteen or somewhere to have their lunch. Minutes passed, class was dismissed early, and now it was time for lunch. Kazuki walked his way to the canteen and suddenly Akari walked towards him. Kazuki was surprised when she saw her in front of his desk again. “Kazuki-kun, do you want to go to the canteen together?” “Hmm sure why not?” “Alright let’s go~!” She suddenly grabbed my hand and ran with a cute smile on her face. As they arrive at the school canteen, they quickly occupy a vacant seat, as the two of them have a conversation and also enjoy their lunch. People around Kazuki were furious and jealous. Some of the students are plotting to beat him up, but under Akari’s protection, that will never happen. “Kazuki-kun, here say ahh” “Wha- no Akari-san I can’t” Akari raised a spoon in front of my mouth as she tried to feed Kazuki, but he hesitated, trying not to make a romance scene. But she doesn't mind having a romantic scene, even if they are surrounded by people glaring menacingly at him. “Relax, it’s just the two of us here. There is no need to worry” “Yeah, but they are watching us right now.” Akari’s best friend Aiya suddenly arrives at the canteen. As she looked at the atmosphere, she immediately encountered Kazuki and Akari sitting next to each other. She decided to join them as she made her way to Kazuki and Akari’s table. She is greeted by male students along the way. She then replies back to them, and she continues to move to their table. “Kazuki-kun, It’s a rare scene for you to eat with Akari” “Can I join you two?” “Sure, go ahead Aiya-chan.” Aiya joined Kazuki’s table. He felt uncomfortable with these two. However, the tension inside the canteen got hotter and hotter as they saw their favourite goddess sitting besides Kazuki. (Why does it feel like I've been antagonised? Man, just give me a break) More and more students feel jealous of Kazuki. He tried to act like they weren't there as he sorted his daily business. He felt uneasy when people tried to antagonise him for spending time with Akari and Aiya. If people respected him for what he was, he would never have to go through all this. Lunch was over and it was time for them to go back to their classroom. “Hey Kazuki-kun, let’s go walk together” “Umm… let’s see, okay why not?” As tensions decreased at the time that they slowly left the canteen, they walked their way to their classroom. As he entered the classroom, he returned to his seat and waited for the next class to start. Before classes started, the students were doing whatever they wanted to do, having discussions, forming groups. Kazuki was also invited by Aiya herself to their group. Akari is also one of their groups. Kazuki had no choice but to join them. Some of them have neutral intentions towards him, but most of them have hostile intentions. He had no option but let their glares be ignored as he approached their place. A subject teacher has entered the classroom as she looks at the classroom. Everyone is busy talking with each other as she gives them a mouthful of words. The teacher’s name is Saitou Ichika. “Hey! Don’t you know that class is already starting? Go return to your seats” At the same moment, a strange purple light appeared from the floor, it then spread from person to person. All the students are alarmed about the mysterious light, even Kazuki himself is curious about it. They attempted to run from it as they desperately from the strange light, all of them suddenly vanished into thin air. “GUYS! QUICK GET OUT!” All twenty-four students, including Kazuki, vanished out of existence, many of their belongings were still inside, the classroom was like a ghost town. Students from the other rooms were shocked after they found out that an entire class vanished into thin air. The authorities arrived and investigated the scene. They confirmed that all twenty-four students, including the teacher, had disappeared. As the authorities had no clear evidence nor any options to continue the search, they gave up and closed the case. But that is a story for another time.
