Epilogue June 26th 18 years ago
There was only one street light at the entrance to the church on this night. It was unusually dark outside. Like the powers that be knew something was going on and they wanted to warn the world to stay away from this location. The lone figure that was standing in the street could barely be seen by anyone that may happen to be walking by, not that anyone was going to be walking around at 2:30 am on a night that was dark as tonight. The church doors had a measly light that was doing its best to light up the front door. It barely cast light to the bottom of the massive wood door. The carvings in the door were that of majestic beings that looked as if they were protecting whoever entered. The figure was holding a child that was born less than an hour ago. She was small, only weighed 5 pounds but was long for being just born. This child had golden blonde curls and piercing blue eyes that seemed as if it could see into the soul of the person she was looking at. She was wrapped in a bright pink blanket that had horses running across it. The person kept replaying the events of the last hour in their head. How this child's mother was in labor for 18 hours until this beautiful little girl was born. As this child took her first drink of milk provided from her mother everyone heard the loud bang that echoed through the castle. Next thing anyone knew there was over 1000 men dressed in red robes with blood dripping down their faces all trying to flood into the room at once and all screaming "KILL THE CHILD" The witch knew that this child must live so she did the only thing that she knew to do. She grabbed the child and threw down her green smoke to vanish into the night. Just as she was watching the last scene she noticed that the child's father had his heart ripped out and her mother was getting dragged through the door. The witch appeared in the middle of an unknown street. She looked around to make sure that her magic worked. It always had in the past, but this was different, she was scared and stressed out and had never had to work under that kind of circumstances, plus she was carrying another magical being that in the long run would be more powerful than her. She walked up to the doors of the church not noticing the other figure watching her and the child from the shadows of the oak trees across the street. This figure didn't know why they were watching this unfold but for some reason felt they needed to make sure this child was safe from any kind of harm. Right then they dedicated themselves to making sure this child was well cared for and taught the ways of their world. All this figure could smell all around them was the scent of apple pie mixed with strawberry and they couldn't help but be drawn to that smell because it was the most amazing smell they had ever crossed since they had been made at the beginning of time. They weren't sure if it was coming from the witch or the child though they were guessing the child because no witch ever smelled that good to this figure, in fact they couldn't stand the smell of witches. The witch cracked open the huge wooden doors of the church making sure that they did not make a sound, she wanted to be out of there before anyone seen her. The witch set the child down in the bassinet that she brought with then took out a vial of bright blue liquid out of her pocket. She then started pouring this liquid over the child while muttering words that were said so low that only she could hear them. The liquid did not make the child wet, but went into the child as if it was apart of her now. The lone figure across the street started to notice that the wonderful smell of apple pie and strawberries started to fade. They did not know what this liquid was but they did not like it at all. The witch had tears in her eye, not wanting to let go. This child was said to be the one that would free the damned, as they were called. But she knew the Red Robes wouldn't allow that to happen. The witch took one last look at the child " Kiya, you will do amazing things in this world, but until your 18th birthday you will not have any clue as to who you really are. You will have to struggle and fight for everything that you receive, every bit of knowledge that will come your way, and fight for every ounce of love that you deserve. But we cannot let anyone know the glorious things you are destined for, so I must shield them from every eye. I am so sorry little one " The child stared into her eyes and started to smile. Like she knew she was safe at that moment. At that moment, the witch knew that Kyia was destined for great things. She could feel it in her bones that one day, this small child would be an amazing woman and do amazing things. The witch then stood up after placing a letter on the child blanket and ran off into the night. The lone figure started to walk across the street with the plan of taking the child with them. Just as they got to the edge of the street, before crossing, there was a vehicle that started speeding down the street. Just as it got in line with the lone figure, the figure could see the driver and it was the witch that was just with the child, then there was a massive explosion that blew the lone figure back knocking them unconscious and a million miles away into a different realm, which had only happened once before in their life. The lone figure woke up and took in their surroundings. They cursed their bad luck and started to walk down the only path that wasn't overgrown with vines from the unknown forest hoping that they could get back to the savior before anything happened to the sweet child.
