“ What do you mean I can’t tell her? “ Damon asked as he kept struggling. “ You aren’t getting out of this Damon. I have you subdued with magic right now. You can’t tell her because she isn’t ready yet. She has to learn to defend herself as a wolf otherwise everything I have prepared for will be useless. “ Just as Alayna stood up off Damon he bucked his hips and she flew over his head. He rolled on top of her and used his body weight to hold her down. He pulled out a green powder from his pocket and blew it in her face. “ Now your magic is disabled for a couple of hours. No more of that s**t on me. “ Damon growled at her. “ Well that’s not fair, now is it? Big bad wolf against little ole me? “ Alayna looked up at him while rising her hips to his groin. Damon groaned, he didn’t know why, he didn’t know this woman. As Damon got up he said “ Why did you show me all that? “ “ Because I want to help you understand what my purpose in life is. What needs to happen for me to reunite with my sister and become one, as it was always supposed to be. “ Alayna said to him. “ Were you not paying attention at all? “
“ I was yes, but what does this have to do with me? “ Damon side-eyed her. “ Can’t you feel it, even a little? We are your mate but she, and apparently you, can’t feel the pull because we are not whole. We can’t be whole until Alayna has achieved her full ability of her wolf. Which also means knowing how to defend herself. Until then I can’t help her. “ Alayna replied sadly. “ I can feel the pull, just not like it is supposed to be. I think she can feel something as well but I am not sure. “ Damon replied. “ Yes, she is attracted to you but does not feel the pull. You need to be careful and let her find herself. “
“ I can do that, but what about you? What are you going to do? “ Damon asked her. “ I am going to go as far away as possible from her. We can not risk someone using me to track her, or her finding out about me. And you will let me go, because you know what I am saying is true. “ Alayna stated with power behind her words. Damon could feel her power returning. It shouldn’t be returning this quickly. “ What is happening? “ Damon asked with a steady voice. “ What I didn’t show you was how powerful I am or what we will be when we join. You have a very little idea of what you are dealing with Damon. But you shall see. “ With that there was a puff of green smoke and that Alayna vanished.
Damon heard the alarms going off around the pack house. He ran out the door and up the stairs. As he passed his guards they yelled at him asking him what was going on. “ She escaped! She is a witch, search on the edges of the boarders for her! “ Damon mind linked all his warriors. He took the stairs 2 at a time going to Alayna’s room. He pounded on the door when he got there and there was no answer. He mind linked his beta “ Do you know where she is? “ “ No Alpha, I am out at the borders trying to track the female but no luck. “ he replied. “ You all can stand down, she is long gone, I need to find Alayna. If you find her send her to me. “ “ Yes Alpha “
Damon kept looking for her but came up empty handed, he decided to check her room again. As he neared the door he could smell a very faint scent of the ocean mixed with strawberries. As he came closer to her door it got just a little stronger and so he knocked, still no answer. He tried the door and it was unlocked. He pushed it open and saw her laying down on the bed sleeping. The scent didn’t get any stronger but he knew this must be the mate bond being pushed away with magic. He went up to her to wake her and she didn’t wake. He gently shook her shoulders and she didn’t stir at all. Damon immediately mind linked the pack doctor to come and check on her.
When the doctor arrived and looked her over he turned to Damon, “ There is nothing wrong with her Sir. “ “ Then why isn’t she waking up? “ Damon demanded. “ There is no explanation of why, just watch her and we will do testing if needed. “ With that the doctor walked out of the room. Damon stayed and stared at her for a little bit before deciding to go to his room for a much needed shower and rest. He felt as if he had just run a marathon five times over.
