Prologue
It all started when I was eighteen.
"Mom!" I shouted. Seeking my mom's attention.
Where the f**k is that jumper? It was only in the cabinet the last time I checked it.
Today is just a simple Tuesday morning. I'm already hungry but I just can't eat without taking a bath yet so I would probably eat lunch immediately after bathing.
I was in the middle of frustration when mom's sudden appearance surprised me, holding a bouquet of tulips in her hands.
"Who gave you those?" I asked.
"Your Dad, obviously!" she replied as her nose touches the petals of the tulips and breathes the scent. "What is it, by the way, darling?" she asked.
"I was looking for my jumper and I can't find it. Can you help me out?" I asked her.
Not responding to my question, her eyes shifted to my clavicle. "Wait..."
She moved closer and touched it. I gasped; it stings!
"Baby, where did you get these?" she calmly asked, pointing at my clavicle with concern obvious in her eyes.
"Get what?" I confusedly asked.
"Your bruise," she replied.
I thought she was joking or bluffing so I laughed.
"Mom? Stop fooling around."
She looked more serious then. Making me laugh out loud. Gosh, my mom got great acting skills!
"Hey, mom, stop!" While I’m wiping the tears in my eyes.
"Babe, can you turn around?" she lowered her eyebrows.
Confused, I sighed and turned around.
I gasped when she suddenly removed my shirt.
"Oh my god! Did you get hurt on the way here?" she asked; with a tone so, worried which made me scared.
I faced her and answered. "I hit my leg. I was about to lie down and I suddenly bumped into a box. It's not hard so it doesn't hurt anyway...." I replied.
Her face looked calm and relieved. "Be careful, Darling."
Days passed by quickly. Sunday came and so we went to the church as we usually do.
I was standing in between my mom and Dad. The mass ended and all the people in our row are standing, readying themselves to go.
My Mom turned around. And when her sight reached me, she looked pale like she saw a ghost. "Luna, your nose is bleeding!" she sounds calm but actually worried.
I thought it's just one of her jokes, but to be sure, I put my index finger on my nostril.
I was about to look at my finger when all my surroundings blacked out.
