"Oh, my God!" She said, June sighed and shook her head. She moved closer to her, and smiled, "you slept with him right?" Damilola choked. "you lying would be the truth," June said. "June, we have to go down, you know that right? They would come looking for us" She looked at her. "You were with Jason," She said with a silly smile. "Yes, I was" Dami replied and looked at her phone again, Jason hasn't left a message. June raised her brows and leaned back. She looked away surprised, and her reaction confused Dami "Hold up, you're telling me, you spent the whole night with Jason?" She asked. Damilola nodded. "You were at his place when I called?" Dami nodded yet again. "Wow, I didn't think you would fall this deep, and oh, besides-" "You like someone too!" Dami interrupted. "Actually, yes I do but yours is different, I haven't seen you this happy, does he make you happy?" June asked. "Happy? He makes me feel divine" Damilola replied. "It feels surreal, and I can't believe it's happening," she stated, June breaks down making her sigh. "My nightmares are back" Dami swallowed June looked at her, "Are you okay? You mean at his place?" June asked. "At his place? Yes and he watched it, I felt so embarrassed." She said. Her eyes opened wide and she slowly dropped her bag, getting up. "Oh, I am sorry about that, what did he say? Did you tell him?" June asked, making hand gestures. "Oh, no, I didn't but… I need to talk to him, right?" She asked. "You can probably, but not today besides, it's late now," June said, trying to calm her down. "Oh, god… I thought he was going to freak out, but he handed it differently," Dami explained, June laughed and nudged her. "Hey! To be honest, not everyone is rude and heartless, you know!" She said. Dami looked at her and then smiled, "Yeah, true" The Adetola family were proof, they had her like her own family. "But! You don't get to tell anyone!" Dami warned, June looked away. "No! I told Emma you're seeing someone," June spat, Dami's face fell. "But I think she figured out, you know the visit at your place?" dad knows, also the mom but I don't think Folarin knows, well that's if Emma hasn't spilt" June swallowed. "I bet they are all happy and waiting for you to tell them yourself, I mean we all want to see you happy" June stated and opened her arms to her. Dami breathed in, yeah, Mrs Valentine had said the same, they all wanted to see her happy, and she was more excited to see herself happy. June pulled her in when she hadn't responded. "Thank you!" Dami said, and hugged her tighter, suddenly a message came in. "That's it, no more behind my backs okay? Tell me, what does he know about you yet?" Dami looked at her phone and blushed, she raised her head and shook them. "Know about me? Am I some kind of celebrity?" She laughed, "We better head downstairs, they would be waiting," Dami said and got up. "Dami?" June called, the door opened and she hurriedly rushed downstairs, while June called, Damilola looked back at her, glaring. Suddenly she missed a step and fell into the arms of a black tall man. "Okay, are you okay?" Folarin asked, Dami pulled away from him, avoiding his gaze. "Yeah, I am" she broke off Folarin's hold, his gaze fell to her hand, and a small smile tugged his lips, reading her body language, he could tell she didn't want him around her. "Dam, I'm sorry… I won't press," she said, "Are you okay, though?" June's voice continued ringing. Damilola looked around and rolled her eyes She looked at Folarin, "Thank you, why are you here though?" She asked as she brushed her hair back, avoiding his gaze. "Mom asked me to call you guys since you wasted time," his calm voice sounded in her ears. "Thank you!" June walked past Dami and tapped Folarin on his shoulders. "Exactly! We were already coming down…" Dami said, and followed June. They all sat in the dining, while Mrs Adetola made the prayers and once she was done, they began to feast, the dining table was quiet until Mrs Adetola broke the silence. "Who's he?" She asked and looked at Dami. "Hmm? Who's he? Who's that?" Damilola said, in a low deceitful tone, she darted at Folarin and June, who sat opposite her. She laughed, Damilola turned around and continued with her food, "The young man that asked for three dates, tell us, how many dates are left" "Two!" June interrupted, she seemed more excited than her, but someone wasn't. "Oh, I can see you are flowing well, and I bet he treats you well," Mrs Adetola asked. "You're seeing someone?" Folarin asked. "What?" She froze, Folarin's voice was so soft to her ears, that they pleased her whenever he spoke. "Oh, yeah," she said at the same time, as Emma. "Oh, really? You are? What's he like?" Folarin asked, Dami blinked speechlessly, unable to meet his gaze. "He's a nice guy, I like him a lot but I like him more with Dami" Emma kept talking, and Damilola smiled and continued with her food. Mr and Mrs Adetola looked at Folarin who kept staring at her like she had betrayed him and looked at June, who glanced at Dami confused. "Okay, that's enough about Dami!" Mrs Adetola interrupted. "Yeah, who knew June had a boyfriend too?" Mr Adetola asked, June looked at him. "Oh, Dad stop it," she blushed, Dami continued silently on her food. Dinner was over and, Damilola had escaped to the small garden in their backyard, she held in her hand a glass of champagne, and gazed at the star, suddenly she felt a presence behind her and turned. Folarin stood smiling at her, "I don't think you still watch the sky" He commented. "It's the sky, everyone does," she replied, her tone and reply had ripped the small smile away from his lips. He chuckled anyway and walked towards, "Have you been fine?" He asked. "Yeah, obviously" Damilola looked at him and their eyes met, he giggled and nodded at the same time. They both fell silent after the reply, and Damilola continued sipping her wine until she heard him. "I missed you, Dam…" she stopped, and lowered her gaze to the ground, she didn't think he would say such. "I guess you didn't," he replied. "Folarin-" she turned and sighed. After a long pause, staring at him, she proceeded to leave, but he caught her wrist. "Dam, please!" He stepped closer. "No, don't do this, what happened three years ago is over now, please, huh?" She pleaded. "Dami!" He raised her head, looking at her. Damilola narrowed her gaze at her with a smile. "Tell me, you didn't miss me, not even once, you never thought of me," He asked, Damilola's eyes wandered around unable to meet his gaze. "Why should I?" She asked, "I didn't, and you need to also let it go" She replied. Folarin smiled, and looked at her, "You've always been heartless" he said with a smile, and his gaze lowered. "I am not, I only letting you know," she said, Folarin tightened his grip around her wrist, and pulled her closer to his body. Her breath seized. "I know when you lie, Dam, you always act so tough, tell me, you don't miss my touch?" He asked. She had lied, Jason wasn't the only one who made her feel heaven, Folarin also had that effect on her. "Stop it," she said in a low voice, wanting to fight his touch, and let him instead. He leaned forward, and her eyes closed, briefly. As much as she tried to let go, his grip around her waist made her weak. "Tell me again, Dam, did you miss me?" He asked, whispering against her ears. Damilola swallowed and looked at him. "Yes," she murmured, "I missed you" she spat, leaving a smile on his face, but the smile didn't last for long when she dodged his kiss. "I did miss you, but I am seeing someone else," she moved away from him, "You should too" she swallowed, and handed the glass to him. "And you're fine with that? With me seeing someone?" He chuckled. "It's none of my business, and I should leave, it's getting late," she said, excusing herself. As soon as she got to the living room, Dami grabbed her bag and paid her respect before leaving.
