Suddenly, his phone began to ring, and Jason gasped at the caller.
The driver signified that they had finally gotten there
"Mr Lee, you've arri-"
"Dam?" He laid back, blinking fast as he picked up the call.
"Oh? Jason? You're J-guy?" June said.
"You must be, June?" He asked, and looked at his phone to be sure she hadn't called him instead, he didn't have her or she didn't have his number.
"Have you seen Dami? She rushed out, I thought she might be with the owner of this number, it turned out to be you" June said as her time turned to whispers.
"I don't understand, rushed out? What do you mean?" Jason asked, pulling himself away from the leather chair.
"She's been gone for a while, we don't know exactly when, we've been to the hotel she books there's no sign of her," June said, worriedly, she held on to her chest while she spoke.
Jason fell silent, staring at his driver, confused, "June? Dami rushed out? What's going on?" He questioned.
"Well, the thing is, Dami suffers mentally and emotionally, she is easily affected when something happens... Uhh, my sister went..." June stated but instead, Jason's mind had wandered off to memories.
_Dami came to Singapore as a little depressed young lady, I had her at the orphanage for months,_
"The Care orphanage! Quick" he ordered, hanging up, and shutting the door back.
"Yes, Sir!" The driver said and turned the car, continuing at quite a speed.
By the time they arrived at the orphanage, the rain was pouring hard, and the clouds had darkened, the large field was empty and the lights of the orphanage home were turned on. The children played in the passage.
"Sir, I'm sorry, I didn't bring an umbrella," the driver spoke.
"Don't worry about it! Wait here, I need to find someone!" He said and pushed the door open, the rain continued even hard, pouring on his expensive suits.
Jason rushed into the entrance, and every child playing stopped and turned in his direction.
"Mr Lee?" A small voice came from a corner, Jason turned to the sound, and Kyra sat with her hands folding her knees. "What are you doing here?" She asked.
"Oh, Krya?" He breathed, soaked in the rain, while his eyes scanned around the room.
"Did you bring something for me?" She asked.
"Have you seen Dami?" He asked, Krya's eyes popped and she blinked cluelessly.
"Dami? You mean Damilola?" She asked while the other kids stared at her.
"Yes, Damilola" he replied.
"Oh, I haven't, has she gone missing again?" She asked.
"That's enough!" Mrs Valentine's voice sounded the passage, and everyone turned in her direction.
"Mrs Valentine," Jason cleared his throat, shaking from the heavy wind that blew through the open door.
"What are you doing here, Jason? A busy man like you shouldn't be here by this time." Mrs Valentine said softly as she approached him.
"Oh-" he started shuttering, he had no idea why he had run down here without informing them.
"Everyone to your room right now, it's almost bedtime" Mrs Valentine interrupted, holding her hands above her abdomen while she managed a smile, Jason could read.
"Yes! Mrs V!" They chorused as they rushed upstairs.
"Let's go to my office" Mrs Valentine offered.
"I'm sorry, I can't do that, I am not here as a sponsor," He said, looking at her.
"Mr Lee"
"I have to find her as soon as possible," He explained, Mrs Valentine's smile widened and she lowered her head.
"Do you love her?" She asked, Jason's eyes opened wide and his lips sealed. "I think Dami likes you a lot, you know she does come here whenever she is troubled, seeing she isn't here today, where do you think she would be?"
"Do you have an idea?" He asked in a low tone.
"Not really, but you should get going, please let me know when you find her, I would love to see her right away, I believe she can get some help" Mrs Valentine stated.
"Right," He replied, and looked at his phone that had been vibrating in his hands, June had kept on calling. "If you excuse me"
"_You know, the first time I got on a plane, it felt as if I should keep travelling the world and not stop, watching the clouds when I could, it felt heavenly, that at times I wished to be part of it, peaceful sort of, calm and quiet_"
"Have you seen her yet? I searched the orphanage," Jason said, holding his phone to his ear, and sighing heavily on the chair.
"The orphanage why?" June asked.
"I thought she would be there, I guess I was mistaken, how often does she disappear?" Jason asked, June went silent and he sighed again at her silence, she must have done it quite often and still, they weren't able to dictate her every move. "I will have my men search the city, she would be fine, I assure you," he said, June remained silent and he stared through the windows until they had arrived in his
"Thank you, Mr Lee, I don't know how to thank you" she replied.
"It's no problem, let me know when she returns" he replied.
"Mr Lee, we arrived," the driver said, Jason looked out the window, he had arrived at his house again.
"Thank you, that would be all, you can leave," He said, and slowly got down, the rain wasn't pouring so much anymore, and quickly a guard rushed over to him with an umbrella as soon as he got down.
"Mr Lee, you've got a visitor" He stated, Jason looked at him with his brows raised.
"By this time? Who is it?" He questioned, and pushed his hands into this pocket, walking towards the door.
"She didn't say, she looked down and barely had a coat on" He explained, "She said she knew you and insisted she did know you, but she didn't have a phone to call, so we let her wait outside..."
