The morning was bright with cloudless blue skies and the ray of the sun shined into the room through the glass windows, Dami lay on the white sofa covered in white thick sheets, the morning looked warm but the breeze that blew into the room was chilly. The loud tone from her phone had made her restless trying to find it. And pushing her hand under her pillow, Dami eye's were still closed but her lips had a bright smile on. "Hello?" She said, picking it up. If anyone was calling, it would be June, who else would call? She had no friends, and June's family reached out to her through June. "Damilola?" A voice called with a strong African accent, her eyes opened wide at the realization of the voice. Unable to reply, Dami remained silent staring at the ceiling. "Are you happy, Damilola?" The voice asked, she quickly looked at her phone, but the number wasn't saved. Her breath seized and she immediately hung up, sitting up. Scanning the room, Jason wasn't with her, was he in the shower? She got up and grabbed the sheets covering her nakedness. Dami pushed the bathroom door open, but it was empty, she then heard a loud noise that seemed to be coming from the kitchen. The room door opened, and Peach barked as she stepped out of the room. "Hey, girl!" She whispered, slowly reaching down for her and picking her up. Her eyes suddenly caught Jason in the kitchen, this was something June had never even done, cooked for her. Her heart skipped and relaxed at the same time. He was shiny like a god who the people adored. "You're up? You were sound asleep and I didn't want to wake you" he said, not even taking a look at her. "What are you doing?" Dami's voice echoed in her kitchen, and she stared at Jason who cooked shirtless but had an apron over him. He smiled at her and lowered his head as he continued cutting the tomatoes on the table. "You have enough groceries, I wanted to make you something," he said, raising his head at her with a smile, Jason's smile disappeared seeing she wasn't returning the smile. Last night was perfect, he wouldn't ask for much and just wanted her to lay peacefully in his arms, and also craved to prepare something for her. He looked good, Jason had always looked good but seeing those gracious smiles on his face and his fair tough skin yet shiny made her realize something. She was happy and so was he. "Leave," she said, the knife stopped at the sound of her voice. "What?" He asked with his brows raised at her unbelievable words but Dami didn't move an inch. "Leave," she repeated, dropping peach to the floor while she covered her nakedness well enough. "Dam, I don't understand," he said, grabbing a napkin and wiping his hand. "Did I do something wrong? I'm sorry," he said. "You didn't do anything, I am not hungry, I don't cook at home," She said, never meeting his eyes. A loud sigh covered the room, and Damilola turned to him, he nodded and hurriedly took off the apron. "If you say so," he said, tossing the apron on the table, and walking past her. Suddenly, he stopped and looked at her. "Last night-" "It doesn't mean anything, you wanted three dates, I-" she breathed, unable to look at his eyes. "That's enough, I don't want to do this anymore" she replied. "Doesn't mean anything? You've got to be kidding me, Dami we-" "You should leave, Jason, I'm tired," she said rolling her eyes and walking to the bedroom. "Right? Let me shower then" He said, his voice softened, and he breathed out. "I can right?" He asked. "Oh," her eyes wandered to the floor, "Sure, you can," she said. "Thanks," Jason said managing a smile, taking steps closer to her, his hands craned the back of her neck as he pulled her closer to his body. A soft kiss landed on her forehead, and he breathed her scent. "Jason" Dami whispered, not moving away. He moved backwards and smiled at her. Jason walked into the room, shutting the door after him. Bark! Damilola looked at peach, and sighed heavily, leaning to the wall, and slowly fell to her knees, breathing heavily. "My phone, peach" she sighed, placing her hand on her forehead, frustratedly. Minutes later, Dami slowly opened the door, and Jason wasn't still out of the shower. Her cellphone, she found it laying on the edge of the bed, she hurriedly rushed to get it and in a twinkle of an eye, she paused and turned to her side. Jason walked out with a white towel wrapped around his waist, Dami quickly looked away blinking severally. "I just wanted to get my phone," she said, and grabbed it but it slipped, falling to the floor. "Oh!" She screamed at her two thousand dollars Samsung. "I'm sorry," she said, grabbing it, and getting off the bed. "When you act like this, Dam" his voice caused her to stop. He had a silly smile, and his brows raised. "I can't help but find you cute," he said. Their eyes met with each other. Slowly her heartbeat increased, and her eyes continued blinking ten times faster, secretly she scanned and praised how good he looks. "Don't Jason" she swallowed, pulling herself together. "Why?" He asked, Dami looked at him, she had no reason or she couldn't say anything to him. Jason turned in her direction moving closer to her. His cold eyes fixed on Dami's. Unconsciously she took steps backwards until she reached the edge of the bed, she dropped to the bed. "Don't make me come after you," "Haven't you been after me?" She asked with brows raised, and a smug smile gracing his lips. "Do you want to stalk me now?" "What?" He chuckled. "You're pretty when you act tough," he said. "I've always been pretty" she replied, "Yeah, you have, extremely beautiful when you try to resist me like you are now... Playing hard to get?" he whispered against her ears, and his breath fanned her skin causing goosebumps. "I like that, makes me feel like I already have you, Damilola," he said and pulled himself backwards.
