FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL
Ella was a very happy girl back in the countryside, always the life of the party and there was never a time where she wasn't happy. She had friends from school, church and anywhere she could find a friend. Everyone loved her and she loved everyone. But her Parents came up with the idea of her having a better life and education in the city, so they moved, her consent wasn't sought for, her wish and will was trampled upon, her friends left behind, her dreams of growing old in the countryside shattered. Now her best friend is her diary and she needs to find a way to adapt to life in the city. Ella's pov I don't think I'll fit into city life cause I know it's not for me, but if it's what my parents want, then I'll do it won't I. I presume they have a reason behind what they did so I'll put up with it. I think the city will be great and maybe I'll have a lot of friends like I did back in the country, or maybe not but at least it's worth trying. We're going to the school where I'll be enrolled tomorrow and maybe they'll be just as nice as everyone in the country. GOING TO J.D. RICARDO ONFROY HIGH SCHOOL My thoughts weren't actually accurate, the girls in the school aren't nice, or maybe it's cause I'm new and they don't know me yet. But I think things will be off to a good start on my first day which is tomorrow. I have no idea what I'm going to wear, and I hope the girls in my class are nicer than the ones I met when coming out of the principal's office. I hope that tomorrow will be one of the best Wednesdays of my life. *Wednesday Morning* Breakfast was as usual, no arguments except when mum insisted that I wear a purple shirt and a yellow pair of pants, the colour combination was off, like really off but we resolved it and now I'm off to school with a black mini dress and a pair of grey snickers. Getting to the principal's office so that I could be taken to my class was kinda hard cause everyone kept staring at me while I was walking in the hallway but it's okay, it's like that on every first day. I've been introduced to the class and sadly the girls I saw yesterday are in my class, but it's okay all I have to do is stay out of their way till the semester is over and also till we all graduate high school which is in a year, I think I can do it. Indy was assigned to show me around the school, she's a really nice girl and the first friend I made, she showed me around the library, the cafeteria and everywhere that I needed to see and that was the beginning of my journey in my new school in the city. Every other person in the school seemed nice apart from those girls, apparently they call them the OMG girls and being in their clique meant the world to some girls, but to other girls the thought of them spelt trouble. And as for the boys, some of them were weird, some were bookworms and others were just boys, but there was this clique that stood out and not because they had anything good to them they were just known for being the most annoying, stubborn and mischievous boys in school and they were not to be toyed with, they never let anything go, they were always going to have revenge if anyone offended them and trust me, you didn't want to get in their way. They were just like a biker g**g but in high school, the guys in sophomore year that just joined them were pretty fast in understanding their ways and becoming just as annoying and disrespectful. Math class was going well until someone decided that they'd humiliate me by throwing a spit ball in my hair at first it was funny to them but then it became annoying to me and I yelled out "Whoever it is throwing spit balls at my hair, you better not let me catch you else that spit ball will be the last thing you throw, and I'll make sure of that" Back in the country, I hated bullies so I always stood up for those who were getting bullied and trust me you didn't want to mess with me when I was trying to defend someone. The whole class went silent and then, a clap, not too loud, not too quiet, but just audible enough for the whole class to hear, then a voice followed, calm and cool but you could sense the mischief in it, he said " Look what we have here, the new girl isn't a pushover like we thought" Then he walked up to me with his hand held out. "I'm Jake and you" Staring at him with anger in my veins I couldn't bring myself to take his hand, just then Mr. Sanchez, the math teacher asked him to please return to his seat, then he withdrew his hand, smiled and went back to his seat, Mr. Sanchez then said that anybody caught throwing spit balls would face detention after school, and that was how it began, Jake eventually became one of the most important people to me in high school, but not before making life a living hell for me, and that tiny gesture of offering me a handshake which I refused to reciprocate was the starting point of t*****e and frustration that I didn't know was coming for me. Back home, dad just came back from work, he's working over at the V.C.I Law firm and mum just finished preparing dinner and we were all eating quietly when mum broke the silence with news that put tears of joy in dad's eyes, a smile on his face that stretched from ear to ear, what was it you ask, she's pregnant, yes I was going to have a baby brother or sister, she wasn't sure of the gender yet, but she was sure that she was pregnant and in nine months we were expecting a baby, this was the best thing that I'd heard today and it made me go to bed with a smile on my face and a lot of imaginations, but after laying down in my bed for a sometime while staring at my ceiling I remembered everything that had played out in school today and I couldn't get Jake's mischievous but cute smile out of my mind and the thought of the fact that he was with the high school biker g**g made things even more frightening, but I wasn't going to let that weigh me down or make me scared, I was a girl who knew where she stood and wasn't afraid of anyone as long as they're within my age grade and I could defend myself really well, five years Taekwondo wasn't for nothing
