COMPLICATIONS

1015 Words
Ella was back to school the next day as though nothing ever happened, even the OMG girls were surprised at how calm she was. She saw Indy and walked up to her but Indy ignored her and walked past her like she wasn't even there, Ella felt confused and at the same time remorseful, she didn't know why Indy was angry at her, she couldn't remember them having a fight and that was what bothered her the most. Indy didn't talk to her in class, she even went as far as changing seats so that she wouldn't sit close to Ella. It was lunch time and Ella was at their usual table, she waited for Indy, but Indy never came. Going home after school, she was gloomy until she heard a very familiar voice call her from behind "Feisty", she knew who it was instantly and that gave her a little feeling of relief. ELLA'S POV My name isn't Feisty, it's Ella, I remember telling you this Mr. Biker Boy, but it seems that you have a foggy memory. We both started laughing so hard, Jake was laughing even harder than me at that moment, but then my laughter seized. I saw Indy staring at us from a distance not to far, I tried to run up to her but she started running too, what made me sad the most was the look in her eyes, she looked like she was sad and felt betrayed, I couldn't catch up to her and I was so out of breath when Jake caught up to me on his bike, he offered to take me home on his bike. I was sad and didn't want to talk he didn't ask questions either, but he noticed I was sad, so he took me to the garden to clear my head, when we got there, we sat on the bench and that was when he asked What happened between you and Indy? If I'm allowed to ask. I don't know what exactly it was I did, I got to school this morning and I tried talking to her, but she completely ignored me and walked away, she even changed her seat during English class, she only sat with me in Biology lab when were about to present the project we did together last week and she didn't even talk to me during that time. I didn't do anything wrong, at least nothing I know of, but she doesn't want to talk to me, at the very least I deserve an explanation, I should know what I did wrong. I said while sobbing. Jake patted my back and told me not to worry, he said he'd take the liberty of talking to Indy and asking what exactly was the problem and why she wasn't talking to Indy. Jake made a few jokes and we both laughed, I was now happier than when we first got here and so he decided to take me home. On getting home, more bad news awaited. Jake had bid me goodbye at the gate and I went in alone, I got into the house and saw my mum pacing around the house, when I asked her what the matter was, she said; Your dad and I were on the phone went suddenly I heard a crash, he didn't respond after then and the line disconnected, I don't know what to do right now. I tried calming my mum down, but she wasn't listening to me, I reminded her of her condition and told her that it wasn't good for the health of the baby for her to get herself worked up in this manner. On hearing this she calmed herself down and we decided to wait for a call from my dad's office. Ten minutes later, mu mum's phone rang, it was a call from my dad's office, I decided to take the call, just in case the outcome of the call wasn't a good one. Hello, the voice from the other side of the phone said. Hello, I answered. Am I unto the wife of Mr. Timothy Daniels? the voice at the the other end of the phone asked. No, you're unto his daughter, I replied. There was silence for a bit, then he replied Well in that case, this call is to inform the family of Mr. Daniels that he was involved in an on site accident, he's been admitted in Seraph Hospital and is still in a coma, he sustained a fatal blow to the head and is in critical condition, he'll be needing a surgery and also a blood donation. The presence of your mum is needed here in the hospital, her signature is needed for the surgery to commence and also for the blood donation. Shivers ran down my spine as I replied, Understood, we'll be there as quick as possible, thank you. My mum could sense something was wrong seeing that the countenance on my face had changed, with teary eyes I turned to her and told her that we needed to go to the hospital and that I'd explain everything on the way, but for now getting to the hospital was our main priority. On the way to the hospital, I explained everything to my mom, she was devastated and couldn't think properly, all she wanted at that moment was too see her husband and all I wanted at that moment was to see my father. We got to the hospital and a blood test was done, to conclude on who would be donating blood to my dad, I was compatible, so I was led to a ward while my mum stayed to sign the permission form for the surgery. The night was slow and cold, the surgery lasted for four whole hours, then he was wheeled out of the theatre, my mum wasn't herself anymore, not that I was also in the mood for thinking but all we could do was pray. I couldn't go to school the next day, I didn't want to leave my dad's side.
