Arrival
It took all of 6 months for them to defeat us. We tried to put up a fight, but there was never any chance. When they first arrived, it was under the guise of explorers that saw potential in our race and wanted to help us reach our full potential. That of course, was a load of crap but human hubris knows no bounds. “Oh look at us, the aliens think we’re so cool and want to be our friends”. We should’ve tried to capture them then and there. Maybe that would’ve sped up our downfall, but at least we would’ve gone down on our terms, not with shocked expressions of their deceit. On March 29th, they landed in Turkey, which they later explained was the most central point of Earth, which is somewhere near the Hirfanli Dam, who knew. They reasoned that since that was our planet’s most central location that would be the perfect place for them to reach the whole population, they were half right. They scared the living s**t out of some Turkish villagers in the process, but most of the world leaders were there in record time. They explained that they had monitored us for a while now, one president asked if they had sent out scouting parties, but their explanation was more mundane. A few years ago, they had a ship pass by and noticed the planet and wanted to have a closer look, not to raise suspicion about our systems. It appeared as an asteroid passing. While doing so they "hacked" a few of our satellites and retreated to a safer distance and began their observations. When asked if they had visited before, they replied with a negative and that they were unaware of their allies coming either. They were interested in knowing if we had prior visitors, but with some deliberation, were told little, doubt that did anything. And so a year-long lesson in lying by two-timing rat s**t aliens began. Initially, things were going pretty good, they showed us some pretty cool tech, like they advanced our space travel by at least 50 years, medicine by 30, and general science by 35. Get this, when we ask them about military technology they said that they were past the need for such things, which if we were smart would've called bullshit on the spot, alas we're only human. The second strike should've been when they said that we could keep working on military tech on our own time, that wasn't a concern to them, but it would make future talks with the rest of their allies a little tougher. Then, almost a year to the day, they showed their true colors. I guess they were either getting bored or the operation timer they set went off but it was go-time. By the time we noticed something was wrong, a third of their armada had encircled the Earth. To our credit, we tried to fight back almost immediately, but the sly asses had the ability to disable our big bad nukes and the rest of our arsenal was close to useless. The combined might of all the world powers was nothing to them. Imagine trying to fight with muskets versus state-of-the-art assault weapons. Honestly, I am surprised we managed to drag it out as long as we did.  After the fall, somehow some of us managed to evade them and create resistance movements. Still, we're far too few and scattered all over the planet without a reliable source of communication. The only thing that we found that is working is homing pigeons. But I doubt that it will still be working for too much longer. They have all of our database and history, it's just a matter of time until they come for us. I sincerely doubt that we'll be able to achieve something, but even the thought of being a thorn in their side gives me a boost of serotonin. The scariest thing is we still don't know why this happened. Do they need us as slaves, doubt it, they have robots to build their s**t for them, or maybe they want to use us as fertilizer? Who knows, but that s**t keeps me up at night.
