When I was two my mother Athena took me to her temple. She showed me all the offerings given and the priest and priestesses kneeling before her statue giving prayer. Mom had said that is how her power works as long as they pray and the people believe in the gods. Mom also had said when I turn 18 I would get my own temple, people would start worshiping me and believing me. After she was done telling me about all the offerings and prayers I wiggled to get down and explore little did I know that same day I would become like my mom a goddess and a powerful one at that. I remember I had turned a corner and I heard my mother scream. I remember the pitter patter of my feet when I went to go see what was wrong. I remember crying because I saw my mother on the floor in a puddle of her own blood.. That day I became the next goddess and I became the next future queen. I stare out at the waves lapping at the cliff side foaming as it recedes back into the ocean. I was lost in the memory of my mothers death hearing nothing but the screams and the howling wind in my head. I was jerked from my thoughts as a rough hand clamped down on my shoulder making me jump and automatically call to the lightning running through my body. I turned ready to use it but calmed down instantly when I realized it was my father Zeus. “ You really shouldn't sneak up on me like that.” I stated. “ What are you doing out here? You should be getting ready for your coronation, Aeliana.” He says ignoring my statement. “ Why would you do this to her funeral dad? this is messed up.” “ I figured that it would make you feel like she was here if you became queen on the day you lost her.” As he spoke my anger towards him grew.Why would he do this to me why would he make my day to become queen the same day she died sixteen years ago. In my eyes it didnt make me feel like she was watching or make me feel closer to her it make me feel dark and sad inside because my dad was a sick f**k and decided to make me queen on my mothers death day. My father Zeus didn't care about anymore but himself he's been wrapped up in his own grief for the past sixteen years to notice the chaos in Olympia. “Lets just get this over with dad i know you don't want to be here anymore than you have .” The last few years he's been in another universe away from here, away from family. I walk ahead of him towards the palace, the gold pillars peeking through the clouds making it easy to spot from miles away, the creamy white stone making the outside look elegant. As I walked through the palace doors maids swarmed me hurrying me to my chambers to get dressed and ready for the coronation. When I turned around to look in the mirror I had smokey gold and black eyeshadow, slightly tinted cheeks and lips gloss. “My lady, your dress has arrived.” my head maid called as she walked through the door, shoulders dropping as she carried the dress. “By the way you are walking Analeese the dress looks heavy.” I say with dread. She nods, laying the dress onto the bed. She unzips the zipper of the bag the dress is in and I gasp from the sheer beauty of it. The dress looked like fire itself, the gold intricate embroidery on the corset the flowing fabric of the tool. As I put on the dress I felt regal like a queen, the crimson red clashing with my white hair and silver eyes beautifully, the dress was paired with a white and gold cloak and golden embroidered red silk gloves. I looked in the mirror one last time to make sure everything was in place. My world was about to change. I was about to become queen of Olympia, a position I never wanted in the first place but my father refused my pleas to give me more time and forced me to become the person I am today, a cold hearted person who does not give mercy to those who betray her. There are three people I trust in this world,my best friend Leelee, short for Lillian. My head maid Analeese and my guard outside my door Jerry. They have been with me my whole life, protecting me, caring for me and being there when I need them. Now I am queen. I can take care of them as they did me. I walk out my room gliding down the hallway towards the coronation hall with my maid behind me. Massive black doors lined in gold framing loomed ahead of me. I stopped short of nervously wracking my body. I took a deep breath then another as I prepared myself to face the crowd ahead of me. The doors opened revealing the grand hall before me, white pillars with gold vines stood on the raised stage by the thrones, the creamy white walls had black and gold ribbon across them, the stage stood in the middle with tool bows around it. The benches that the guest sat in had been replaced with white stone seat with gold bows lining the sides of the aisle and the aisle was padded with a red rug. As I walked down the red carpet I couldn't shake the feeling this was like a wedding and I guess I was right because the next thing I saw made me stop in my tracks. I turned and looked at my dad with narrowed eyes.
