Out of home

...out of the home. And here, I see a whole new world. Lands that I have never felt before, and colours that I never saw. It is a new feeling between excitement for adventure and fear from the unknown. I hurried and widened the hole, so more people could get out of it.  Everyone was astonished by the view. The people started to step a foot forward and two backwards. I looked back and up. I saw the wall of our home extending to the sky. The colour of the sky was of the raging fire, yet lighter.  I could not see the end of the wall, it vanished into a white light thing, in the sky.Which like others, I could not identify.  I started helping everyone to get out of that hole and more men started helping me.  I helped men, women, children, and elders. By every being, I got out. I know I saved them from a terrifying and absolute death.  Till at once, the one I was helping was a girl . Yet,  no ordinary girl. A girl that I have always dreamed of. I have always wanted to hold her, but she was not mine. Our names were not written on the wall together.  I always wanted to tell her “I love you Songerie daughter of Vulkan, and I want you to be mine till my dying day. You are the fire that I can not live without,  still scared to touch”.  Songerie is a girl in her youth. Her skin was bright brown, her eyes were of the raging fire. Some of her hair was brown and the rest was dark.  Her ears, eyes, and nose were small. Her face was alluring. She was the most beautiful woman in the village.  It has torn me apart every day that she is not beside me. At last, the moment passed. I helped her and moved onto the next person. Till everyone was out. Cleaning their clothes of the ashes and dust. Laying on the floor to rest. Some went back to the old home. Some out of fear, and some to get their families and friends.   I saw the fear in everyone's eyes. Then I looked at Hakeem. His eyes were at me. His message was clear yet not spoken.  “You are the leader and you have to take action. You have to secure and comfort all of us.”  I walked up the wall to be above everyone. I started speaking: “O my people,  What we will do is the following. And there will be no discussion upon my orders." I closed my eyes and took a deep breath  "We will divide ourselves into groups. There is whom that will find the food and who will find the water. These will be our women. And for the men, you will make sure that we are secure. By making sure the path is. We will not stay here. We have to be on the move. I know you are tired, I know you have walked. But we have no choice but to continue. We can not tell time as we did at home. That's why we need to stay in contact .” Everyone started moving. We were about a thousand and a half.  Three and half hundred of children: about one and a half hundred of girls, and the rest were boys.  About four and a half hundred women: sixty-something of which were elder. The rest were men, with whom under fifty elders. Counting all was a hard task to be done. But rather an important one. We have also counted the women who are soon to be expecting a child. Every head was a burden.  Jobs were not assigned to the elder and the children. Women were gathering food and water, unfortunately, they found none.  The men were sent with their Hadeed weapons to secure the path from any danger.  I was watching all We rely now on the food and water we brought from home. But soon they will end.   The journey to survival has begun.
