Taking the lone wolf in
Stealthily she stalked her prey. Silently watching its every move until the time was right to attack. So she pounced, but unexpectedly got shoved to the ground while in mid air. Confused and nervous, she looked up to see a man approaching. Still she layed. He could clearly see her nervousness - baring teeth, pulled back ears and shivering. Realizing she doesn't trust humans at all, he showed her his eyes. He knelt down, slowly reached out to her and said, "I mean you no harm, I promise." She saw his bright red eyes and cautiously took a sniff of him. Could he really be like me, she thought. "I am like you. My whole pack is." he said. She finally stood up from where he shoved her. Keeping a comfortable distance, she asked, "If you mean me no harm, why interrupt my hunt and why shove me to the ground?" "When I heard of a series of animal attacks on the border of the Mistique forest, I asked some of my pack to investigate. When they returned telling me that it seems to be a lone wolf hybrid, I had to come here to make the attacks stop. It's not our way to attack innocent people. Also, the Marshall hybrid bloodline was seen as royalty amongst all hybrids and the Mistique forest was heir territory, although we have not seen a hybrid of the Marshall bloodline here in 8 years. Ever since he m******e on them took place." he replied. She rolled her eyes and started walking. "What made the Marshalls royal, might I ask?" she said. "When in hybrid shape they stood twice as tall as the average hybrid. Judging by your size, you are a Marshall. They were also stronger and faster than the average hybrid and often killed for that. So if word gets out you'll be in great danger. It is believed that if you kill a Marshall you'll come to poses its power. You'll have a better chance of survival in a pack." he answered. "I won't join your pack. I've done fine on my own for years. I don't need anyone now!" she said angrily. "Look, I'm just...". Her slight growl and sudden look to the right made him stop talking. There was a human jogging and before he could stop her, she bit the human and was sucking his blood out. "STOP!" he yelled as he touched her to get her attention. She territorially growled at him. Her white fur turning black. He had a choice - stand and watch her kill an innocent or stop her. Without a second thought he transformed and roared at her. Not only did it stop her, but it also turned her back human. Shocked she stared at herself. Meanwhile he turned back human, healed the injured with his blood and compeld him to forget everything that just happend. "What have you done!" she yelled. He offered her his jacket and said, "I merely stopped you from killing an innocent person.". "What must I do with this?" she asked. "Cover yourself." he replied. She took the jacket and covered herself. He could clearly see she had no human skills. "What's your name?" he asked, "I'm Klaus." "I'm Clarke Marshall and I haven't been human for a long time." she replied. "Look Clarke, it's clear that you need to learn the proper hybrid ways. You don't know how to control your hunger, how to compel, how to heal, take pain or even trust. Your lack of trust is causing fear and you turn that into uncontrolled aggression. Not all humans and hybrids are a threat." he said. "Fine, teach me, but it does not mean that I'm part of your pack. My past has made me what I am. All the humans I have crossed paths with have tried to kill me and I never met other hybrids." she said. He nodded greatfully. "I'll send someone with some clothes for you. I'll see you tomorrow." he said as he got up to leave. "Klaus wait!" Clarke called. He looked back. "I'll come with you." she said. She was very uncertain, but this was the first time ever that she had a chance to meet more of her kind. She kept a safe distance as they walked. A while later he told her that they were near. Smelling the air, she suddenly stoped. She nervously said, "Klaus, this was a mistake." Her teeth were chattering, she was licking her lips and drooling. "You have humans in your pack." she continued. He could clearly see the lust for blood as her eyes turned blue, but unlike before, she was trying to fight the urge. She turned around and ran until she could no longer smell them. He followed. "Clarke?" he asked. "I'll sleep out here where I can't smell them." she said. "Why didn't you attack them?" he asked. "Fear of what you might do to me, seeing as they are part of your pack." she replied. "I misunderstood your lust. My apologies." he said, "Let me go fetch some stuff for you to keep warm." He walked off. "Klaus, you're back." someone said. "Hay Ezra." Klaus replied. "Is she a Marshall? Will she join our pack?" Ezra asked. "Yes she is a Marshall. I found her, but she is out of control - hunting humans - thus it is not safe not safe to bring her here. She'll be spending the night just a few clicks north of here." Klaus answered. He got some stuff and left to take it to her. "Here you go." he said. She cautiously took the bag and said, "Thanks for everything." "It's a pleasure." he replied. "Will you stay, please?" she asked, " It's been years since I've had company." "Off coarse." he said. He did not know where to look as she got dressed in front of him. "Why do you look so uncomfortable?" she asked. "Uhm, you're not shy about your body at all." he replied. "Should I be?" she asked. "Yes, no, I mean, you can't just dress infront of whom ever you like. Humans do that in private." he answered. "Oh, I'm sorry. I've been hybrid and alone for a long time, this will be an adjustment." she said. "How old are you?" he asked. "16" she replied. "You're young and vulnerable. We need to start training soon. Should anyone decide to come after you." he said. Suddenly he was awkwardly quiet. "Is something wrong?" she asked. "No, just wondering, where were you the night of the m******e and ever since?" he said. "Well about a week before I transformed my parents said they had some business to attend to and took me miles away to my aunt Carol. They said they'd return in 2 days, but never did. All I wanted was my family again. So I ran away. I got attacked and transformed to protect myself. I just stayed hybrid on my journey home. I had no idea about the m******e until you told me. About 2 weeks ago I ended up at Raven's Rock. They use to take me there as a kid. That's when I knew I was finally in a familiar place and decided to stay." she explained. She started crying, "I didn't want to believe you earlier. I didn't want to believe thay my family was gone." she said weeping. "Might I hug you?" he asked. By her silent stare he knew that she was afraid of physical contact. Understandably, since she hasn't had any for a long time and since they met have kept her distance. "It's okay. You know I won't hurt you." he said while slowly walking up to her and wrapping his arms around her. After a while he felt her relax and hug back. "I'm going to sleep now." she said while walking off. "Goodnight." he wispered to himself.
