Lachlan’s pov
“Goddess f**k!” Lachlan grunted out. Could this day get any worse? Lachlan had watched the camera footage this mornings incident three times and couldn’t be more pissed off. Not to mention the meeting afterwards with Arianna.
“Something wrong alpha?” Harrison asked.
“Do you think the people in the pack house are spoiled?” Lachlan asked. Harrison responded without missing a beat,
“Yes, ridiculously so, they are also arrogant, and difficult to train.” Harrison said holding no punches.
“F.uck,” Lachlan said and threw something across the room.
“Your not helping anything either.” His beta added in.
“The best way to combat this?” Lachlan asked.
“Training field, you normally train separately. Show them what you are made of.”
“When’s there training?” Lachlan asked.
“In about an hour.” Lachlan nodded,
“Make sure Brie and Ariel are there, but not Arianna.”
“Alpha?” Lachlan let out a sigh,
“I’ve wronged the omegas in the pack, but especially them. They deserved to see this. Especially what I’m going to do to that little sh.it from this morning.”
“His name is Wayne.” Lachlan nodded, and went back to work keeping an eye on the time.
An hour and twenty minutes later Lachlan walked onto the training field. Harrison was there with his head warrior Frank. Frank was in charge of training, he was also the Luna’s guard. The delta was there as well, Zack.
Lachlan came purposely after the training started so no one would see him arrive. As he watched on he became more and more furious. The teens were more and more belligerent, wanting to know why they had to do this or that. When Lachlan saw Brie and Ariel come into view he laid into them.
“What the f.uck is going on here?!” He bellowed In his alpha voice. Everyone but Harrison looked terrified. There was dead silence.
“I asked you all a question? What is going on?”
“Alpha we are trying to train your future warriors?” Harrison stated.
“No that’s not what I see before me. What I see is spoiled rotten children!” Lachlan let out his aura, and the only one who wasn’t affected was Harrison.
“Children who couldn’t last a minute against a rogue, let alone protect this pack.”
“I disagree alpha,” the s**t head from this morning said. Lachlan smiled,
“Perfect, just the man I wanted to see.” The child sauntered toward him.
“So you think you can win in a fight against a rogue to save this pack?”
“I do sir.” Arrogance leaking from his voice.
“Than prove it.”
“Okay, Shane come-“
“No you little sh.it you are going to fight me.” Lachlan smiled as the blood drained from his face.
“A-alpha I-I,” his arrogant demeanor vanished.
“What you suddenly developed a stutter? What you think you can choose what rank the person comes to kill you will be when your on patrol? You have to be ready for anything.” Lachlan got in the kids face.
“Sir I think you may be bringing some personal feelings into this?” The c**k s**t dared to question his motives.
“You dare question your alpha? Your the i***t who thought to question me in the first place. Time to deal with the consequences. Now come at me.”
Lachlan gave the poor kid a break and threw a punch he knew the kid would block. Then hammered him with the other. Lachlan heard the sickening crunch of his nose break.
“You broke my nose!” The dumb kid hollered.
“It doesn’t feel so good to have some one bigger and stronger towering over you now does it?” Lachlan asked. The kids eyes widened in horror as he realized Lachlan knew everything. Thor howled inside him seeing the blood pour from his nose.
“How do you know that? You weren’t in the dinning room yet.” Lachlan grabbed him by the throat and picked him up. He was dangling by his feet. Lachlan yelled so everyone could hear,
“you don’t think I have cameras all over my pack house? You don’t think I don’t know how you treated my pack members?! My Luna! My mate! You are lucky you are still breathing right now!” The kid was choking, until he finally threw him on the ground. Lachlan looked around and saw he had drawn a crowd, good everyone should hear this.
“I was sickened to have been told by my Luna of your behavior today. My beta confirmed it. I had to see for myself as I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe my pack didn’t pick up after themselves. But then my beta told me that they are arrogant and impossible to train. This sickens me, and I hope this does everyone else. Because if it doesn’t change than it will be the death of our pack.” Lachlan took a deep breath to reign in his anger. He looked over to the omegas who stood together, their gazes scared but hopeful.
“I got a great idea since you want to do nothing but complain about becoming a warrior. I think you should switch duties with the omegas for two weeks, then maybe you will have a new appreciation for not only becoming a warrior, but what the omegas do for you.” Out of the corner of his eye he saw Brie raising her hand.
“Alpha?”
“Yes Brie?”
“Is there any chance that during those two weeks the omegas could train to be warriors?” Lachlan looked to his beta who simply shrugged his shoulders.
“Well Brie this was only meant to be a punishment for my spoiled warriors. But I have a feeling if my Luna finds out I told you no I’m going to be in big trouble.” Brie laughed,
“She’s an amazing woman.” Lachlan nodded,
“She really is. Meet with Frank or Zack. Also go ahead and see if any other omegas want to join you.” Brie smiled wide at him.
“Thank you alpha.” The crowd dispersed, Lachlan could tell they wanted to complain, but they knew better at the moment.
“Alpha?” Lachlan turned around and saw Ariel.
“Yes Ariel?”
“Thank you,” she gave him a quick hug and ran off. Lachlan was surprised at the affection, but it made him happy. His mate had taken to the girl.
Arianna POV
That evening Ari couldn’t get the situation out of her head. She knew she would be up all night. Arianna never tried to judge anyone, especially since people judged her son all time for being autistic. She herself had been judged her whole life on how she looked. However, the situation with that man and Ariel bothered her. Especially the way no one had stopped him. It seemed like it was totally normal for them.
So when her ex joined them for dinner that night Ari asked him, or rather told him something.
“I think I want to get my ccw.” Oliver raised his eyes brows.
“Why now?” He asked. Oliver was ex-military. He wasn’t crazy about guns, but he very much believed in the second amendment. So did Arianna, she had many family members and ancestors that fought and died for America’s freedom all the way back to the American revolution. Arianna was a history nut.
Oliver had guns and throughout their relationship took them to the gun range. Hell, Aurora loved shooting her BB gun. It was never her thing, but it was his. Anyway living in Illinois sucked for gun rights. It wasn’t until five years ago that the Supreme Court got involved and forced Illinois to have the right for Illinoians to conceal carry weapons or ccw.
Oliver was one of the first to get his permit. Oliver asked Arianna is she wanted to get one. She said no. Arianna had no desire to get one. Not only that, she didn’t have a need for one. Oliver was always there to protect her. That wasn’t the case anymore. They were separating, and she didn’t feel safe anymore.
“It’s the right time.” That’s all she said, and Oliver nodded,
“Okay I’ll look into it.” Arianna nodded and they went back to eating their dinner.
“Aurora please just eat your food!” She begged/ordered her daughter.
