CHAPTER 23EW FAME Jimmy Raeburn sauntered down town. He was wearing his best clothes, because the other outfit had been ruined the day before. Yet, strange to say, his father had merely laughed at the destruction of valuable clothes. In fact, Jimmy was beginning to suspect that his father possessed a certain largeness of soul that had remained unsuspected all of these years. That morning he had said, “Jim, if you’re going down town, you may want some money.
