Honestly I don’t care what honors she have or where she graduated sigurado naman ako na hindi kukuha si Vanie ng incompetent person. She knows me so much.

“Okay. You’re hired. You can start now. Please make sure that my schedule for tomorrow will all be cleared okay? I received my invites for the VS fashion week. I’ll probably be in New York for like 2 weeks,” I said,

“I need you to make sure that all the documents and transactions will be forwarded to me first before presenting it to the board. Are we clear on this?”

She seemed shocked. Akala ko ba 3 years experience as an executive secretary?

“Are we clear?” I asked her again.

Mukha naman na-gets niya ang gusto kong sabihin at agad na nakabawi.

“Yes ma’am, a-all clear!” she said.

Hay, hindi ko rin alam minsan kung bakit ba ‘yong mga tao sa paligid ko ay takot na takot sa akin? Madali naman sana akong kausap. They always stutter or sometimes nakatulala, I don’t know with them, hindi naman siguro dahil pangit ako kaya ako nakakatakot? That is so impossible.

“Really? crystal clear?” I asked her again.

“Yes Ma’am crystal and water clear po!” she said trying to gain her composure.

“Very well then. Vanie please tell the board that the meeting will start in 5 minutes. You guys can leave now. I’ll just freshen up a bit.”

After I dismissed Vanie and Hazel, I checked my ** to kill those 5 minutes, I was scrolling down when I suddenly saw Drake’s photo with a friend of mine.

He seemed so happy now.

Siguro ganon talaga. May mga tao na kailangan natin bitawan para sumaya sila, maybe that’s the least that you can do for them if you know yourself that you can’t make them happy atleast know when to let go. I think he’s doing better now.

I couldn’t help but click Drake’s profile, it’s been months since I last visited his profile. I scrolled some more and saw a picture, he was holding a girl by her waist and on his other hand he was holding a small box. Hindi siguro kita ni girl kasi backshot ito.

I felt a little pain in my chest knowing that he’s really happy now; he used to be so happy when we were together back then. He said that I was his only happiness and I will always be his only love. Feelings really do fade away as time passes by, tama ang desisyon ko na bitawan sya kasi parehas siguro kamin hindi successful ngayon kung hindi ako nag let go.

I heard he is a successful architect now with a firm of his own, he is also a good car racer. He always wanted to be a car racer, he like the speed and the adrenaline rush that he feels while he’s racing. Back then I used to tell him to stop racing kasi I couldn’t take it. There was this one time he had an accident in the racing track I almost lost my breath, hindi ko kaya.

But then even though he love racing so much, he stopped it for me. That’s how much he loves me.

Siguro he will always be my ‘The one that got away’

My phone suddenly rang, nun ko lang narealize na yung 5 minutes ko pag i-** nauwi sa 15. Hayy!

“Hello Vanie? I’m coming,” I told Vanie not waiting for her to talk.

I’m sure sasabihin niya na, I need to go to the board room now kasi naghihintay na ang board, actually kanina pa sila naghihintay.

Ghad, Avie pull yourself together hanggang ngayon hindi ka pa rin makapag move-on naka more than ten boyfriends ka na in the past 9 years! wake up girl!

I immediately went to the board room.

Lahat ng mga empleyado na nadadaanan ko ay nags-stop para batiin ako. Vanie saw that I was already coming kaya she opened the door for me.

“Good morning everyone, I am sorry for being late,” I said and sit down.

The board acknowledge my presence by greeting me.

“Okay. So let’s begin?” I said and the production department started the presentation.

I asked the finance and production department to collaborate with each other, I need them to close this one deal with the Ambrosio’s.

After the presentation, I stood up and let the presentors sat down.

“Okay, you guys did great but I have somethings that quite forgot to consider, first our market isn’t just teens, we are targeting elite teens here and adults also so we can’t sacrifice the quality of the materials that we will be using with the clothes,” I said,

“The designs were good but I have also added some details, Vanie will provide those later. For now I need the you guys to take this down. We are targeting the Ambrosio’s because they’re linen and silk are worth the amount we need them. I don’t think we will be able to close this deal kung makikita nila na nagtitipis tayo.”

“Miss Gomez, the company can handle the price of the raw materials its just that we wanted to decrease our cost a little,” Mr. Canlas answered.

“I get your point Mr. Canlas, cost efficiency is also very important but I want you to understand this okay? I have said this a million times and this is the last time that I will be saying this again,” I annoyingly answered.

I get their point. But the thing is this deal is very important for the company, malapit nang magsimula ang balls and party ng mga networks as well as the prom of the elite universities and international school and we need the quality of the Ambrosio’s products as well as their good reputation.

“Listen, this deal is very important. Alam nyo na ang target market natin ay hindi naman basta bastang mga tao they are celebrities, daughter of the celebrities, of the politicians of the elite society. We have to make sure that they will see that we only offer them the best of the best. Because that is the only thing that can make us stand out among others. We can provide high end designs and use top quality materials. And we need the Ambrosio’s for that. Do I have to elaborate this more?” I asked.

Stop yourself from saying harsh words, Avie... inhale... exahale...

“No miss Gomez. We understand the finance and production department will work on this right away,” Mrs. Aguinaldo said getting my point.

I looked at my wrist watch and realize that its already getting late and I need to go to GGOC to attend another meeting.

“Okay then. Meeting adjourned.” I said and Vanie quicly opened the door for me.

“Vanie get the car ready I’ll just get my bag at the office,” I instructed Vanie.

“Right away Ma’am,” Vanie answered then quickly called the driver.

I need to get everything done before I leave.

Finally, after all these years I will get to walk in the VS fashion week. This is all I have been waiting for I will get to finally say to myself and to Drake that ‘I did it’.
