Gavin's POV:
It was only when I learned of Anthony's return that I remembered Nora's engagement to him.
I've always disliked him, and now, the sight of him with his arm around Nora's shoulder was particularly irritating.
Anthony was just using Nora. After overhearing his conversation with Margaret, I was certain of this fact. Nora probably didn't understand that Ethan's distance wasn't directed at her, but stemmed from his inability to accept Anthony's other side.
I should have left immediately, but I couldn't bear to see the slight furrow in her brow or hear her sigh.
I'd much rather see her baring her teeth at me. That vibrant energy was the true Nora in my heart.
