Lillian's sudden action startled me.
The physical changes I had been desperately suppressing were momentarily relieved, only to backfire intensely.
"Stay away from me!" I covered my nose, unwilling to inhale even a whiff of Lillian's pungent perfume. The scent only fueled my frenzy.
Lillian refused to give up. She lunged forward and grabbed my hand, her sharp nails digging into my arm, leaving a long, bloody scratch. "You pushed Mona! It was you!"
My nerves were frayed to the breaking point.
Instinctively, I flung her away. "Get off!"
