XXI: Lap Dog?

The girl ran at full speed to try to avoid all of its attacks, but one of them pierced her leg, the pain was intense, and she fell to the ground. She hid behind a column pulling the horn from her leg. “s**t!” Edith said while holding the wound. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead as she endured the pain. Through gritted teeth, she said, “Sanat!” Her wound healed instantly when the ice terror hit the spine, destroying it. Edith rolled on the ground with the impact when the ice terror pointed its tail at her to freeze her Edith shining her eyes in black, aimed at it and, with speed, shouted. “Laceratae!” Its tail came off, and after the scream of ice terror, Edith placed her hand on the ground and holding herself, running her magic scream. “Ferrun Sunt!!” From the ground, several pointed stakes rose at full speed through on all sides, stabbing the ice terror, each wound was deeper than the previous one, and at the end, the Ice terror was impaled by the asphalt stakes that Edith had created. Exhausted, she closed her eyes to breathe and take some air. When rising, she looked at the completely dead monster in front of her, placing her hand on its body. She closed her eyes, and using her magic, she said. “I offer this corpse to the death god, that his soul be yours and his death be mine!” The soul of the ice terror shone, and being absorbed by Edith, she opened her eyes, breathed deeply, and exhaustion hit her. When looking in all directions, she saw the destruction that only one of these monsters could cause. While thinking that, she realized that there were still two left.  She said, “Eleanor find the others!” Eleanor waved her hand casually, and she said, “Needless! One of them is being eliminated by a group of werewolves while someone escaping my clairvoyance managed to assassinate the fourth!” Edith took a deep breath, knowing that she should not face another of those monsters, when someone behind her said, “You look really exhausted for a servant of death! It seems to me that your master does not treat you well at all!” Edith turned on her guard and what she saw was a beautiful woman, she was dressed in black leather pants and a torn white blouse, she seemed to come from a confrontation with something, and although Edith did not know her, her face was very familiar. The newly arrived woman looked at the corpse of the ice terror, and smiling, she said, “Wow! You did kill him! It cost me a little more! “ Edith stared at her and curiously asked, “Who are you?” “You don’t remember me do you?” the girl asked while looking at Edith mysteriously. “Huh?” Edith narrowed her eyes while looking at the girl intently. She seemed familiar, but not sure why. “Still can’t remember?” As she said that, she was smiling. She took out a medallion with a symbol identical to that of Josephine’s diary when she said, “You avenged my sister in that church, well your werewolf did it! You got ahead of me anyway. I am Seraphim!” Edith, who, upon hearing that name, opened her eyes in surprise. The last time she had seen Seraphim, she was only a girl, but now she was a whole woman when the surprise happened to a huge sorrow. She approached her and looked at the girl with shame. She said, “I didn’t know your sister was in trouble! I still couldn’t make it on time!” Seraphim nodded and said, “I know! She had been captured a long time ago. That hunter used her as bait to get to me! Thanks for what you did!” Edith looked in surprise at Seraphim, who calmly said, “I ended up with one of these things! They are quite troublesome! That this kind of attack on humans is happening is unprecedented, and more importantly, where is your barrier, and what are you doing here? “ Edith took a deep and calm breath before she said, “That’s a long story, someone released these monsters, and I have the impression that that same person released my barrier! One of my sisters is dead!” Upon hearing that news, Seraphim’s eyes widened. That was not possible a servant of death, and death was a sacrilege, someone aiming to hurt the god of death himself. Something was not right. At that moment and landing on the floor where they were, Joshua appeared, looking with some fear at Edith. He said,  “My pack is free! Someone took them out of the forest!” Edith nodded, and, taking a deep breath, she looked in all directions. Perhaps they had defeated the ice terrors, but the problems were only accumulating. Many things were happening in the shadows, and the hunter of the servants of death was surely responsible. Night fell on them. In the living room of the apartment, Eleanor watched Joshua drink a coffee. Every time he tasted it, his face wrinkled. “Why do you drink it if you don’t like it?” Eleanor could not help but ask with a smile. Joshua placed it on the table and looking at her with a smile, and he said, “Edith said it was an acquired taste, and I want to acquire it.” Eleanor smiled at the answer when Seraphim, with a beer in her hand, looked at him, and while smiling, she asked teasingly, “And we do everything Edith says, don’t we?” Joshua looked at her with confusion. He had not spoken with her since they met in the mall, and his instincts told him that this girl had some kind of problem with him. After realizing it, he asked with a frown, “You don’t like me, don’t you?” It was not that he cared about it, but if this girl was close to Edith, he did not want to offend her. Seraphim sitting across from him next to Eleanor, said, “I am a cat person myself.” As she said that, she smiled herself, and then, staring Joshua in the face, she said with a mocking gaze, “But I don’t understand why a servant of death needs a lap dog.” Joshua stared at her, and he did not understand what this girl’s problem was. Her posture was aggressive, and her eyes showed enormous hostility at that moment. Edith came out of one of the rooms, with a white bitter and some shorts while walking she took a chair to sit next to Joshua, when he saw her, he looked at the new scar on her legs and curiously pointed to it as he said. “It hurt you!” She smiled and nodded when she said, “Yeah, but it wasn’t that bad. Everything is fine. But the scar stays. I don’t have your regeneration skills.” They smiled, and for a second, they seemed to have forgotten the other people in the room when Seraphim said, “Wait! So this is happening! You two are… a thing?” Edith, somewhat embarrassed, looked at Joshua, who, smiling, nodded. She also nodded and looking at Seraphim. Her posture changed. She leaned forward and, taking Joshua’s cup, and took a sip when she said, “We have problems!”
