XXII: Emissary

By saying that, all the little talk ended, and everyone paid attention to what she would say. “The way things are, my barrier disappeared. I’m not sure, but something tells me that the person who let the ice terrors out today is responsible for what happened to my barrier, my sister and your sister Seraphim.” Confused, Seraphim looked at the ground for a second in disbelief. She said, “But my sister was killed by a hunter. Your dog then killed him.” Edith nodded. Joshua stared at Seraphim with an unhappy expression. He was clearly offended and was trying this best not to snap. Edith titled her head. She ignored the comment instantly when she said, “Yes, Joshua beat that hunter, but one thing is true that guy had an inhibiting seal of magic.” After saying that, Edith leaned back and, looking in all directions. She said, “Actually, that was why Joshua had to take care of him.” Seraphim looked at him, and nodding, she began to understand how her sister, such a competent witch, would fall into the hands of a hunter, but this raised many more questions than it answered. Looking at Edith, she said, “But how did the hunters get something so specific? It is impossible for them to do that, especially when magic is what they want to eradicate!” Edith looked at Joshua and then at Seraphim to say. “I know. I think it has to do with the same person who is hunting me, and I believe that he is giving anyone who can be a threat tools to make them even more dangerous, and he is unleashing terrible chaos!” Joshua got up and looking at the moon, and something came to his mind. Turning quickly, he looked at Edith and said, “Your barrier was eradicated. That means that all of us who were within that barrier are now free, right?” Edith nodded, and Eleanor, at that moment, said, “Your pack is in town. But not the whole pack is only like eight wolves.” Joshua looked at Eleanor. He shook his head before he responded, “That is not what worries me. The vampires within the barrier are also free, aren’t they?” Even if though werewolves were not the most civil type of creatures who mostly rely on their beast side to survive, at the very least, they were not sucking human types of blood to eat. Seraphim snorted in irritation, and she said, “Yes! They are free. All the creatures within the barrier are free. Can we get back to what’s important?!” Joshua looked at Edith, and she was getting up, put her hand on the werewolf’s arm, and then asked in confusion, “What’s going on? Do you think vampires will attack your pack?” He shook his head. Joshua released a heavy sigh before he said, “No, that doesn’t worry me. In that nest of vampires, there is a particular vampire, and he wants to be an emissary of the moon or battlements that he wanted. But that is not something you can choose. In order to be an emissary of the moon, she must choose you and be able to speak with the god of the moon, and you need the help of one of her emissaries.” Edith looked at him, nodding, and said, “Yes, usually that’s the way with all the gods.” But Joshua raising his gaze with clear concern, said, “No, that vampire is not one to ask for help. He will kill the emissary of the moon to have his audience, and he will try to kill my mother!” Edith looked at him curiously, and coming closer, she asked with a deep frown. “What are you talking about?” For her, Joshua was acting even more concerned than usual. Joshua stared at her. A show of fear appeared in her eyes as she said.” My mother is the Moon Queen, the closest emissary to the moon. She has centuries of that way, and this man wants that position I know because my father already faced him once if he is free I know exactly what he will do,” when he said that Joshua looked at the moon again. He then looked at Edith once more. His expression was determined when he said, “I must help her.” Edith nodded and, placing her hand on Joshua’s cheek, said, “We will, and we will go to your mother and stop this vampire, do not worry.” When she heard what Edith said, Seraphim got up indignant and walking towards them. She said with unmasked anger, “I’m not wasting my time saving a wolf from a vampire! And you clearly shouldn’t either! Edith thinks we clearly have bigger problems!” Edith looked at her patiently and said, “Ok, Seraphim. Tell me, how do we find the man who wants to hunt me down?” Seraphim stared at her and, turning to see Eleanor, this one said, “Sorry, Sera! I can’t. I already tried to find it, but it is blocking my clairvoyance as you do.” Looking at the ground, Seraphim took a deep breath, then looking at Edith, she said, “You are the best of all. You can find it!” “I am not the best of anything. But I do have an idea of how to find it,” Edith said with a smile while looking at her. Seraphim grinned when Edith said, “We are all under the moon. An emissary from the moon can use his influence to talk to the moon god and tell us his whereabouts. It’s simple.” Seraphim felt her world fall when Edith said that. Everything she said made sense, it was actually an excellent idea to ask the moon about the whereabouts of that mysterious man, but even so, he could not determine if the reason for that idea was to help Joshua or, in fact, she had already considered it in any case, the idea was useful and criticizing Edith’s criteria in this circumstance seemed completely useless. While looking at her, she couldn’t help asking, “It’s a good idea, but is this idea to help us or to help him?” When she said that, Edith stood up to the young woman, and with a firm tone, she said. “What is the difference?” When she said that, Edith took a deep breath to look around and said, “Listen, Seraphim, if your sister was a victim of this being that is after me, I will avenge her, but I will do it my way, you don’t have to come if you don’t want to.” After saying that she looks at Eleanor and calmly added, “The same goes for you Eleanor, you can continue with your lives, but if you decide to go with us, it will be under my rules!” Eleanor nodded immediately, and Edith planting her face on Seraphim, looked directly at her, and after a few seconds, the witch said, “If it is under your rules, I will follow them. But I hope they are not under his rules!” Joshua watched her withdraw and, taking a deep breath, looked at Edith when he said, “I don’t understand why she doesn’t like me.” Edith shrugged her shoulders. She then looked at Eleanor. She then approached more calmly and then said, “Are you sure you want to do this? You are not a warrior.”
