CVII: Reason

While looking straight ahead, she asked as she tried to calm down and not panic, “What did you do to me?”

The witch calmly saw her and said, “I blocked the magic... that way, and you won’t be a problem.”

Seraphim could not believe what she said about her when in front of her the witch began to throw an enormous amount of fire that Seraphim, with her magic blocked from her, could not control and jumping into the water she evaded him. The witch in front of her had her cornered, and as long as she was there, she couldn’t help her friends. Seraphim’s battle intensified.

They both gasped at the questions the moon threw. Neither of them knew what to answer, and Joshua calmly stepped forward to ask, “Why are you asking this?”

The moon saw him with a face full of seriousness, and she, without wanting to say anything else, looked at Cecil, who, seeing her, said, “What are you talking about?”

The moon alternated her gaze between them, and calmly and smiling, he said, “You see, it seems that the earth will face an extinction event, and only the strong will be able to do something to prevent it!”

Joshua looked down at his feet. His mind raced between all the people he knew, the members of his pack, his friends, his family, Edith, all involved in an Extinction event, and his mind, completely absorbed by the idea, was ready to let go. a real answer when Cecil said, “The strong will always survive. The weak will die! Beyond that, how important is it!”

The moon looked at him with a smile, and then his eyes, without showing any surprise, passed to Joshua, who, seeing Cecil, shook his head. The moment he saw the moon, he looked up from him and said, “What are you saying will actually happen?”

She immovable and immutable did not show any kind of expression, but in a situation like that, the silence was enough, Joshua when he saw her shook his head and said, “I don’t know what I can do if an event like that happened, but what I could assure you is that I would do everything in my power to save my friends and everyone I could.”

The moon sighed and, looking at both of them, said, “I had to try anyway. They clearly responded with the depths of their character, but their philosophies are contrary. Only one of you can live, obtain my power if one of you dies. The other will be my witness.”

Cecil looking at Joshua, said, “You should have said that from the beginning!”

But Joshua didn’t move. He looked at the moon directly and said, “What is going to happen?”

The moon looked at him, and without losing his smile, he said, “You do not want my blessing. Kill that man. Clearly, he will kill you as soon as I release the restriction.”

But Joshua seeing her directly, said, “I don’t care about his powers, and I don’t care about him! tell me what will happen!”

The moon looked at him suspiciously and released Cecil’s restriction, and he saw how Joshua looked at him. Cecil pounced hard on him, and this stopped him from looking at the moon and said, “Tell me what will happen?”

The moon looked at him with amusement, and calmly he asked, “Why don’t you finish him off?”

Joshua would push Cecil away and look at the moon, and he would say, “If I kill him, he may not talk to you anymore, and I need to know what happens!”

The smiling moon raised his hand and sent a vision to Joshua. The vision showed everything that happened on the mountain and seeing the moon clenched his fists while Cecil ran in his direction and said, “Know what! I don’t care, and whatever happens, I’ll stop it!”

And running at full speed, he transformed the wolf to jump on Cecil, but at that moment, he appeared again on the cliff. He was looking at Erika, still unconscious on the ground, and at her mother praying as she had left her. In front of him, Cecil seemed transient, and behind her, a woman’s voice sounded.

“You see up there, and I can’t tell you what happens! Many ears.”

Joshua turned to see the moon looking at the landscape from the cliff, seeing everything. He calmly approached and said, “I believed that the gods could see and hear everything. All-time!”

The moon shook her head and sitting on the edge of the cliff, and he said, “No! Not really. You will see the gods only dominate their domains, I know it sounds strange, but it is so. The god of the sea only dominates the sea, the god of the rivers only dominates the rivers... but the god of the waters is the highest of all, and it dominates everything, do you understand?”

Joshua nodded and said, “So so!”

The moon smiled and calmly said, “They are the so-called ancient gods, and they have dominion over everything. And there are only seven! The god of the waters, the god of the heavens, the god of the earth, the god of fire, time, light, and darkness. They created everything, including humans!”

Joshua nodded, and the goddess continued, “But over time, life became complicated, and they had to relegate jobs, the one in the sky created the god of the sun and me, the goddesses of the clouds and the winds, etc. They created as many gods as things in the world, so much so that while humans created things, they created gods for those things. War, dream, love, mind.”

After the moon said that, he replied, “There were so many gods that the ancients decided to rest, and they all disappeared, on earth, what they call their places of hibernation!”

Joshua watched, trying to understand what she was explaining when she said, “That was good at first, but so many gods started to make things and began to create things, first it was strange animal things, powerful creatures without conscience, and then someone wanted to play with humans and create magical creatures. But they did not expect the magical creatures to become so powerful. Now there are alphas, ancient and witches, capable of fighting low-scale gods. For the gods, that is terrifying. If they give them more time, how far could they go?”
