X: Bloodsucker

1258 Words
The girl was in a catatonic state, and her blank stare showed that she had little time left to live. The man dropped down and showing his face with blood traces on his mouth. “It was very kind of you to let in these weak creatures… it is rare to see humans in this forest!” He said brightly. Edith pursed her lips in frustration as the man continued, “Since you arrived, we had to settle for crumbs: animals and other disgusting creatures. I must say, nothing tastes better than a good old human…!” The Vampire looked at her with a smile while Edith felt her anger grow. But at that moment, the Vampire said, “You are human, too, right? I bet your taste is delicious!” Edith looked at him with a smirk. Her gaze turned mocking when she said, “If you want to die. Why do not you try it?” The Vampire laughed before he said, “He said that if I managed to scare you, your powers would weaken ... tell me, girl are you scared?” Hearing those words, Edith felt a fear rose in her heart as she remembered her conditions. The man threw the girl’s body, and Edith distractedly looked at her before being able to cast a spell. With his superior speed, the Vampire prostrated himself behind the woman and, covering her mouth, licked her neck as he said, “Let’s see if that man told the truth ...” And with those words, he bit her. Edith felt the cold fangs of that Vampire embed themselves in her neck. She felt the flow of her blood quicken as her hands tried to free themselves from the creature’s grip. With one hand, he prevented her hands from moving, and covering her mouth did not allow her to recite any spell. She felt her body trapped, and her helplessness believed as the pain in her neck intensified. While the Vampire was enjoying her blood, when suddenly an immeasurable pain approached him and leaping away from her, he looked at her in surprise. “What happened, bloodsucker? Didn’t you like the taste?” The Vampire retched. The impulse to get rid of the blood he had ingested reached her mouth but looking at her prey. She was smiling. Edith knew the consequences of touching her blood. She was a servant of death, and feeding on death was a mistake. However, the pain in her neck bothered her, and her vision was slowly blurring, her bond with her death had taken longer than she expected, and she was now in trouble. The Vampire gasped, and she felt her strength diminish. Thinking of a spell to defend herself was a complicated job when the weakness hit her body, and at that moment, the Vampire said with a sinister gaze, “It’s over. This is where you die!” And with speed, he tried to attack her. The impulse made Edith close her eyes in anticipation of the terrible pain she would feel, but that did not happen. When she opened her eyes, she saw the Vampire’s sharp nails just inches from her body. The Vampire’s arm and his body were stopped by the muscular body of Joshua that protected her. The Vampire looked at him in surprise, and Joshua roaring just like an alpha wolf could throw him into the air several feet away. At that moment, he turned to see her. Looking at her, he felt his anger rise to his head when he saw the mark of that dirty Vampire’s fangs on her neck. The wolf approached her and, running his tongue over her wound, instantly healed it. Edith felt a tingling on her back when Joshua got up, and with his eyes full of hatred and anger, he looked at the Vampire who had attacked her. Joshua walked steadily, standing to his full height. “You must have a deep death wish to attack a death servant!” He said in contempt. The Vampire getting up was cleaning the dirt that had fallen on him by the fall, and when he saw the wolf, he said full of sarcasm, “She is no longer untouchable! Clearly… if she has to use a disgusting dog like you to protect her!” Joshua smiled at that insult, and when he saw him, said, “I am not protecting her. I am saving you a painful death!” The Vampire laughed loudly and said, “He also told us about you wolf... The one abandoned by his pack, it seems that yours want to kill you and everyone already knows that this woman cannot protect you... if you transform into a wolf, they will instantly know where you are, and your life will be over!” Those words made Edith’s heart lose control. She looked at Joshua in fear. If he could not transform into a wolf, he would have problems, and even though she had not recovered her energy, she still decided to take action. She was about to cast a spell but raising his hand, Joshua stopped her, and smiling, he said. “Transform into a wolf? For you?”A smirk appeared on his face as he continued to speak, “But why would I do something like that?” The Vampire looked at him curiously. However, in a split second, Joshua’s body rose into the air falling in front of him and slapping him hard, and walking slowly to look at him and said, “You are a disgusting newborn! You think I need to transform to deal with you!?” The offended and injured Vampire stood up. When looking at Joshua, he pulled out a silver knife from a sheath on his back and said, “Let’s see how long that damn dog smile lasts!” And with that, he tried to attack him. Joshua evaded his attacks with efficiency and quickly took one of his hands to deliver a powerful blow to the Vampire’s jaw with his free hand. He staggered only to see Joshua lift his foot to kick him and make him fly to the other side of the clearing. The Vampire bled from each impact, and when he looked up, he saw Joshua’s body descend from the air until it fell on him. Once on him, he gave him a blow to the face that made him bleed deeply. The Vampire gave him a stab in the abdomen with total certainty but Joshua, completely ignoring that wound, began to release all his anger on the Vampire. Blow after blow, his hands descended on his face as Joshua, with devastating anger, said, “Never in your miserable life, you damn rodent put your hands on her again!” With each word, another blow landed on the face of his enemy, “She’s out of bounds. If you touch her, I’ll kill you!” And with those words, a roar that flew through the forest came out of the mouth of Joshua, who, in anger, pulled the knife from his abdomen to stab the Vampire in the chest. He knew perfectly well that none of this would kill the Vampire, but he only wanted to unleash his frustration on the one who had attacked the woman he worships.
