Chapter 15

Nyx’s

I jerk awake on my bed , my hand gripping the knife I keep under my pillow and sweat beaded on my head and my clothes soaked through. I quietly draw calming breaths, trying to calm my racing heart while straining my ears to listen to the sounds in my apartment.

A couple of minutes pass by that way with me straining my ears to listen trying to make out anything out of place. I finally slump down and let out a tired sigh, twisting my head to the clock on my bedside table I make out the time and see it’s just 12am in the morning.

I groan out loud, giving up all hope of falling back to sleep. Staring at the ceiling, I decide to make a plan instead of my stay at the Bonavero Residence, I feel rage and Night in my head also wide awake and listening. I take a pen and paper from the bedside table and decide to write down my plans. A snort leaves my mouth at, Bella would definitely laugh if she saw me being all orderly and s**t.

My plans

•Tell them about my family??? (Maybe)

•Make use of their manpower

•Make contact with HIM

•Make HIS life hell

•TAKE HIM DOWN🔪🔪🔪

I stare at the list in my hands wondering if I was making the right decision, just cause I like the kid and I’m attracted to his brother doesn’t mean I should trust him with my secrets.

“ I agree, he could screw us over…or he could help us,” Night says

“Pick a struggle, are you for or against the decision” Rage haughtily says

“Why do I have to pick, I’m just stating facts” Night replies

“You want to talk about facts, I’ll give you facts. One, He would never do anything that’ll end up harming his brother no matter how attracted he is to us, two, his friends don’t trust us and I’m sure neither do his men so they wouldn’t be that willing to help, three, the moment he finds out who our parents were, he’s going to be looking at ways to use us to expand his business and reach” Rage growls out stunning Night and I

“Wow, you’ve given it a lot of thought,” Night says and I just Nod in response

“Or, we could go in with zero expectations, tell them who we are after a couple of days, make use of whatever help and manpower he’s willing to spare to help us take HIM down because regardless of what we do, they’re already in the crosshairs and this way we get to spend more time with our little man Tony and have amazingly hot s*x with Aiden” Rage perkily says

“I knew you couldn’t be that serious, dumbass” Night says seemingly annoyed

“Technically you just called yourself a dumbass,” Rage says smiling

I chuckle out loud coming out of my head while Rage and Night continue bickering. Rage did raise some valid points And if I was a better person I’d skip town and leave them, if HE comes here he’d make things hard for them for a while but when he sees I’m not here he’d move on and they’d be fine.

A smirk makes its way to my lips at the Thought

Too bad I never claimed to be good.

I get out of bed and check through my duffel bag again, satisfied, I go to the bathroom to have a shower, get dressed in my signature hoodie, boots and pants all black, making sure I have a small arsenal on me.

Looking back at the time I see it’s just 2am in the morning, and decide to head over to the Bonavero residence, give them a little something to wake up to.

A smile pulls at my lips as I make my way outside, a plan playing out in my head.

Time for a wake up call.

I park my bike a little distance away from the compound, wary of giving myself away any announcing my presence to everyone before I got a chance to give them my brand of a wake up call. I push my baby behind some tall shrubs to prevent her from being stolen by some stragglers who might be up by this time, i cross to the other side of the road and hide myself amidst the trees growing in the forest opposite the compound and begin to make my way across at a brisk jog ensuring my footfall is silent.

Once I make out the shape of the compound’s iron fence I slow to a walk before stopping entirely. Hidden behind the trees I look around noting the change in the amount of guards at the gate and I smile to myself knowing they most probably had increased the amount in the main compound as well as the building. Not that that would stop me from entering anyway.

I resume my walk making my way to the side of the fence and settled in to watch for an opportunity to slide in unannounced. I remain in my position, impossibly still as I wait taking note of the cameras moving around as well as the guards pacing beyond the perimeter of the fence. They made sure that while the guards where not in the vicinity of the fence, the camera was turned towards the fence making it hard-but not impossible to enter undetected.

A smirk makes its way to my lips as I finally see the break I had been waiting for; just as the camera is about to turn to face the front of the fence, while the guards have made their turn it glitches, only slightly but it’s there. I stay for another couple of minutes just to confirm what I saw and there’s no mistaking it, the camera glitches as it’s about to make its turn going stiff for about a minute but that’s enough time for me to scale the fence.

I rock on the balls of my feet, adrenaline coursing through my blood as I pull my hoodie tighter on my head ensuring no part of my face is visible, pulling my bag strap tighter I focused all attention on the fence, the moment the guard made his turn, I sprinted in a mad dash, closing the distance between me and the fence in seconds, i jump high using momentum from my run and latch on to the fence, propelling myself over it and jump down with a soft thump just as the camera lands on where I was a few seconds ago.

I blend into the shadows as I dodge guards and make my way to the house, my first course of action being to check on Tony. The doors were definitely not an option but I could scale the walls like I did the other time I was here, I think he said his room was on the second floor. The guards close to the house were more than those at the fence so I needed to distract them. I jogged to the garage, meeting the door open and smiled, going to one of the cars, I hit it with my fist and it began to shriek as the car alarm went off, without wasting time and keeping to the shadows, i ran to the north side of the house where Tony was, watching as the guards all ran to where the noise was coming from.

I scaled the building, using the windows as ledges and made my way to his room, his window wasn’t locked and I feel a frown making its way from my face at the thought of how easy it was to get here. It’s no wonder he’d been kidn*pped the first time. Footsteps sounding outside in the hall way had me diving into his room and under his bed quickly. His door opened and light from the hall entered, the person entered and I tracked his steps as he went towards the window and locked it, coming towards the bed to check on Tony before walking back out as the radio in his hands crackled

“What’s going on?” He asked

“Nothing boss, seems a raccoon or a squirrel hit it” someone answered and I had to struggle not to snicker at that, seems I was a big squirrel

“ Did you see it?” He asked again

“No sir…”

“Then don’t f*****g assume, I’m coming out now I want every inch of this place combed inside out, I want all the camera footage also screened.”

“Everything boss?”

“Did I f*****g stutter” he growled out as he made his way out and closed the door and I smile noting that at least not all of them were dumb f***s.

I wait a couple more minutes to make sure he was gone then slid out from under the bed before kneeling beside Tony as I stare at him, he looked tired. I didn’t want to disturb him so I took out some extra coverage earplugs and put them in his ear. Satisfied he wouldn’t be waking up anytime soon, i check my watch and see it was just a little after 4am, i smile and make my way out, deciding to give them an hour more to settle down as I go about setting up everything I need for my Wake up call.
