Chapter 16

1423 Words
Roberto's POV A groan escaped my mouth involuntarily as I struggled to sit up in my bed with one arm, cuts practically covering my body. Anger burning through me at the thought of what went down earlier in the day. I felt outraged; a plan I'd spent months working on came crashing down in just a couple of hours, all because of one puny girl! Picking up the glass on my bedside table, I screamed and launched it at the wall, feeling a fragment of satisfaction as it shattered. I wanted to break her. I looked up as my door opened, and in walked Mikhail, my second in command. "Boss? What's going on?" he asked. "What do you think is going on, huh, Mikhail? All this wouldn't have happened if you had done your job properly!" I screamed at him, my frustration finally finding an outlet. "Dial the boss; I have a message for him from the f*****g b***h. I'm really f*****g curious about how she knows him by name as well," I told him. He nodded and walked towards me, dialing the number on his phone. I heard it begin to ring, and he passed it to me. "Yes?" the voice that picked sounded devoid of all emotion, and I knew who picked. "I have a message for Boss," I told him. "Speak; I'll deliver your message." I grit my teeth, hating the way he spoke down to me as though he was my better. "Unfortunately, it's for his ears only. Tell him the one who sent the message is a young girl, and she called him KRASNYY VOLK," I said. I heard a sharp intake of breath over the phone, the only sign I got that the name meant something to them, and then I heard his voice. "Speak, Roberto. What message do you have for me?" he said. I then went on to tell him about the girl, her name, and all that transpired between us. "I see, was that all?" he asked. "No Boss, she also said to tell you that she's been waiting a long time to meet you and eagerly awaits your visit." "And you're certain she called me that name?" he asked. "Yes, I'm certain." "I understand. Is Mikhail there?" he asked. "Yes, he is," I answered, curious as to why he was asking. "Put the phone on speaker." I did as he said, still curious where this was headed. "Mikhail, убей этого сукиного сына. мне не нужны слабые люди, работающие на меня. Затем, когда закончишь, разберись с девушкой, я не знаю, кто она, но тот факт, что она знает, как называть меня этим именем, не означает ничего хорошего. Я не хочу туда приходить, я тоже пришлю несколько своих людей. Заботьтесь о ней. Понял?" {Mikhail, Kill this son of a b***h. I do not need weak people working for me. Then when you are done, handle the girl, I don't know who she is but the fact that she knows to call me by that name means nothing good. I don't want to have to come there; I'll send some of my men as well. Take care of it. Understood? I couldn't understand what was being said, which made me frown; I had a bad feeling about this. "Da," he responded. I knew at least that, but what is he saying yes to? He cuts the call and puts the phone in his pocket; I'm still frowning in confusion when I see him point his g*n at me. "Sorry Boss, I've got orders to kill you," he said, shrugging. Pissed doesn't even begin to cover how I feel; I should have expected this. Damn it, f**k, f**k, I'm going to die. Aiden's POV I'm jolted awake by the sounds of gunfire. I jump from my bed, and grab my g*n from underneath my pillow, creeping for the bedroom door. I place my ear on the door, hearing the screams of people amidst the gunshot sounds. What's going on? Are we under attack? Is it retaliation for Roberto? I open my room door and see men running around. Looking down the hall, I spot Lucas and Marcus coming my way. I step out and meet them halfway, eager to get some answers. "What the f**k is going on?" I ask them. "We don't know; we seem to be under some kind of attack. Shots are being fired from multiple places on the compound," Marcus tells me. Rage flows through me at the thought of us being under attack. Since I took over as the leader, we've never been attacked. Does this mean whoever is doing this considers me weak? How dare they! "Where's Tony?" I ask. "Mike has gone to him with some men." "Good, let's go find whoever the f**k this is," I tell them and turn around about to make my way outside when one of my men runs towards me. "Boss, something's off; the bullets aren't hitting anyone, and I picked one up outside. See for yourself," he says and hands me a bullet shell. "It's a blank," I state, looking at my friends. I don't like this; I don't like this at all. I turn to face Marcus and Lucas. "How long ago did Mike go to Tony's room?" I ask them. I see the moment they put together the same thought I did. Without waiting for them, I dash down the hall, running to his room. Fuck, f**k, fuck... Not again. Damnit! It was a f*****g distraction. I'm going to KILL THEM ALL! They're going after Tony. I faintly hear Marcus calling for more men but don't stop to listen. I get to Tony's room and see the door ajar. Pausing at the door, I notice boots on the floor on the other side of the bed but don't see Tony on the bed. Lucas and Marcus spread out behind me, and we made our way to the bed. "f**k, that's the guy put to guard Tony; Tony's been taken, again!" I say. "f**k," I hear them respond, but I don't care. I let him down again. I hear the faint sound of laughter, and my head jerks up as I spin around quickly, g*n outstretched and pointed at the door where a figure is hidden in the shadows. "Who the f**k are you, and where's my brother?" I ask angrily, wanting to shoot this fucker straight away, but I still haven't seen Tony. "Tut tut tut, is that any way to treat a guest?" a female voice says, and she steps into the light. I blink in confusion, certain I must be seeing things. I look at my brothers to see them also staring as confused as I am. How did she get in? What the f**k is going on? "How are you here? Where's Tony?" Marcus asks, for which I'm grateful. Did I misjudge? Is she actually after us? "Tony??? Now why, oh why would you assume I have him?" she says, smiling, her eyes mocking us like we don't have our guns pointed at her. "Where's my brother, Nyx?" I ask my anger at the situation growing by the minute. Questions run around my mind. The tension grows thicker as Marcus c***s his g*n. Nyx just tilts her head to the side, looking at him, still smiling, and raises her hands in the air, palms facing outward. "What's going on? Why are you pointing guns at Nyx?" Tony asks. I look to the side, unwilling to take my eyes off Nyx and see my brother at the doorway of his bathroom, a headset over his ears, looking none too impressed by us. "Good morning, Housemates. How'd you like your wake-up call this morning? Satisfactory, I hope?" she says, smirking at us. I watch her, at a loss for what just happened, watching as Tony walked around us to her side, taking off his headset on the way and staring at us warily as though we were the ones who wanted to hurt her. A chuckle from my right took my focus to Lucas, who was full-on laughing now as he lowered his g*n. Marcus had a frown on his face, clearly not impressed but also lowered his g*n. I guess they've come to the same conclusion as me. I look back to her and lower my g*n as well, just as my men barge in, guns pointed at her, and she starts laughing, tears coming out of her eyes. I wonder, what the f**k have I gotten myself into!!!
