Playing With Fire

Chapter 8

I shifted and ran for what felt like hours, letting Akira take control. She was just as upset as I was about him knowing our mother. 

'Do you think he actually did it, Skai?'

' I don't know, he said hes seen those eyes before, shes the only other water shifter Akira.'

'Maybe he has another explanation. Maybe we should go back, let him talk.'

'No, I already told you I do not want a mate. We will be fine, just stop over there by that pond Akira, we need a break and some water.'

Hakans POV

I followed her for hours, staying far enough back that she couldn't hear nor smell me. I don't understand why she was so upset. I didn't know she was my mate and I was just doing what I thought would keep my pack and mother safe.

 My mother is human and my father was a monster. She wasn't his mate, but she belonged to a tribe whose women carried the werewolf gene. My grandfather was the one to suggest that they be married and that the unmated men in the pack marry the single women in his tribe to ensure werewolf heirs for everyone.  My father hated the idea, he swears his mate was this women he kept a photograph of in his office. The woman had the same blue eyes and my beautiful mate. He said she ran away and that if she ever returned she would kill us all. He seemed obsessed with her, made my mother furious.  

I never understood why he always was out looking for her instead of being home with his wife and sons. My older brother, Matto, took off as soon as we heard of our fathers death. He didn't inherit the fire abilities which meant he couldn't become Alpha, my father never let him live it down so I don't blame him for wanting to live freely. 

I reached the edge of the woods and looked at my mate, her muzzle was engulfed in the water. When she stopped drinking she shifted back to her human body, and I was star struck. I have never seen another woman as beautiful as her, although I've seen very few naked. I saved myself for my mate, I was too embarrassed to tell her though. Especially since she seems more experienced than I am. 

I've had my fair share of blow jobs but I haven't laid with a women in that way. My mother told me that my mate would be more special that I could even imagine and that I should just wait for her, I took her advice and Goddess am I glad I did. I'm not even mad that she didn't wait for me.

She was taller than most women in our pack and her short brown hair was wavy and reached just above her collarbone. Her blue eyes were what drew me in, it was like looking out into the sea, you could get lost in them. She was skinnier than the last time I saw her, it pissed off Dami my wolf because she was obviously not eating right. 

'Whens the last time she ate meat?' Dami asked.

'We will cook for her when we get her home.' I assured him.

We looked towards our mate, making sure to stay hidden. She was turned around and walking into the water. I don't like that shes just naked out in the open. Dami is begging for control so he can drag her home and punish her for running away. But I want to watch her a bit longer, admire her from a far before we reveal ourselves.

I watched her just float in the water for an hour before I started to smell rouges a few miles away and turned to see if she did too. Her head shot up and she looked in the directed of the smell. 

'Shes got stronger abilities than other she-wolfs.' Dami praised

She wasn't getting out of the water though. They were closing in and she knew it so why wasn't she leaving?

Skai POV

I smelled them before I saw them, 3 Rouges emerged from the tree line looking at me like I was going to be their next meal. I wasn't scared, I knew Hakan was watching, waiting for me to run. I was going to play the innocent little girl act. I wanted him to see if he interfered and exposed himself. 

The gather just at the base of the water looking out to me with eyes as red as blood. Amusing, their actually hungry.

"Well what do we have here?" One of them said. He had scars covering his right eye down to his nose. He was probably good looking before he turned rouge. Rouges are only consider so if they eat their own kind. That is why I am considered a Lone-wolf not a Rouge. I prefer cows over my own kind, shocker I know.

"Well I was enjoying my swim before you three so kindly interrupted it." I snapped back. 

"Why don't you come out of the water so we can have a chat, hmm?" Scarface said before looking at the other 2.

I laughed loudly causing them to become angrier. I looked over at the trees where I knew Hakan was waiting and smiled before turning back my attention to the men. Before they could respond to my laughter I sent a gush of water towards them knocking them onto the ground. I then shifter and bolted towards the treeline, heading Hakans direction. 

I stopped in front of him before nodding in the direction he followed me from, indication for him to go with me. He turned back towards the rouges and growled. 

Fucking men always trying to compare d**k sizes. 

I shrugged and just continued forward, if he was going to fight them go ahead.I was in no mood tonight and I just took a nice bath, I don't want blood on my fur. I looked back to see if they reached him yet and saw all three men on fire, Hakan was in wolf form standing a few feet away from them. Just staring. I knew he had fire abilities but seeing the rouges on fire sent shivers down my spine. He looked at me and back at the men, feeling satisfied it seemed, he started my way again. Following me all the way back to his packs land.
