I’d agreed with Cohen on everything. He’d gotten me the job in security at the resort. I would work the morning shift in the safety deposit room from eight a.m. to four p.m. Monday through Friday. All weekends and holidays off, two weeks of paid vacation each year, and all the insurances imaginable. All those perks made the job too good to pass up.
After staying one night in Houston, he rushed back to Austin to put things in motion. His lawyer had already gotten the paperwork needed to add him to Madison’s birth certificate and change her last name to Nash.
