Everyone in Figinia knew that the Dawson heir had suffered from insomnia since childhood, and Lillian Adkin was nothing more than a human pillow bought to soothe him.

For ten whole years, Brandon could only fall asleep while holding her. When they grew up, he even defied all odds to marry her.

Yet after their marriage, his mistresses changed one after another. No matter how wildly he played outside, he would always return home on time every night to hold Lillian in his arms as he slept.

This deep, lingering entanglement made Brandon Dawson utterly certain that Lillian would never leave him.

Until the third year of their marriage, a woman named Emilia Foster appeared. She brought Brandon an unprecedented thrill—so much so that the two of them could indulge in endless passion for three days and nights straight.

Chapter 1
She brought Brandon an unprecedented thrill—so much so that the two of them could indulge in endless passion for three days and nights straight. ... The night was still as glass. Lillian looked at the man pretending to sleep beside her, noticing a fresh bite mark on his prominent Adam's apple. She knew he wasn't asleep. He was likely still thinking about the pleasure he shared with Emilia. "Brandon, I want a divorce." Lillian's voice was very soft, but it completely snapped Brandon out of his fake sleep. "Did you have a bad dream or something? What kind of nonsense is that?" Brandon opened his eyes, his sharp brows furrowing. "I said, let's get a divorce." Lillian repeated, her tone unwavering. "Are you really throwing a tantrum right now?" Brandon's eyes went cold. "I've told you a million times. It doesn't matter how many girls I sleep with, and it doesn't matter if Emilia moves in tomorrow. No one is taking your spot as my wife." "Besides..." He paused and reached out to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. "Lillian, have you been living the good life for so long that you forgot how you ended up with the Dawsons in the first place? Have you forgotten that your little sister is only alive right now because my family pays the bills?" Lillian's eyes flickered slightly. She had always known that the heir of the Dawsons was no saint, but she never expected that the man she loved most would one day use her sister to threaten her. "If you walk away from my family, how exactly do you plan on paying those insane medical bills, huh?" Brandon's voice softened a fraction. "Look, I'll just pretend you never said any of this tonight. I don't want to hear the word 'divorce' come out of your mouth again. You know you're always going to be my wife." After issuing his quiet warning, he closed his eyes again, pulling her into his arms to sleep as if nothing had happened. But Lillian kept her eyes wide open, feeling as though she had been plunged into an ice cellar. She knew him all too well. Once Brandon set his mind on something, no one could ever change it. Three years ago, he fought his entire family tooth and nail just to marry her, a girl who was basically bought to be a human tool. And now, three years later, he didn't care about her feelings at all. He was ready to bring a new girl into their home just to take care of her while she was pregnant. Lillian caressed the wedding ring that had never left her finger, memories of Brandon's past kindness still vivid in her mind. When they first met, Brandon actually hated her. Driven by teenage pride, he felt it was unmanly that he actually had to rely on a girl just to fall asleep. Because of that, he constantly picked on her—because his parents forced her on him—and even banned her from getting anywhere near his bed. This continued until the young Brandon fainted in public from sleep deprivation. His mother was furious, but Lillian rushed forward to shield him, taking all the blame on herself. That day, Lillian was punished so severely that there wasn't a single spot on her body left unbruised. Yet it was from that day on that Brandon began to treat her well. Whatever Brandon had, she had it too. Even if it was something Brandon didn't have, he made sure she got it. But why did everything change after marriage? The next day, Lillian's phone vibrated with an incoming message. "Diagnosed with severe depression. Medical termination of pregnancy recommended..." She closed her eyes, which were so dry that not a single tear could fall. After a long silence, she opened her phone and booked an abortion appointment for three days later. Since she had decided to leave, she would leave completely clean and unburdened.
