In the dungeon
We have spent almost fifteen minutes in the dungeon and still haven't killed any monsters. The howls of the dead was activated and we are getting afraid, every moment we use in the dungeon
Jack sighed and asked
"Squad leader, why haven't we seen any monsters here?"
"It's call monster hunting bro, not kostet killing"
"But the last time we came here with the guild, lots of monsters attacked us at once"
"Lots of humans, lots of monsters. Concentrate on hunting jack, our chit chat might scare monsters away"
"Is anybody feeling scared?" Jay asked " cause I'm feeling like we are in a place full of dead spirits, I can even hear their calls''
"You can sense spirits?" Maxine is surprise with the powers of jay
"Yeah, one if the things my light can do, sense anything evil"
"Stop" I commanded every one. It is supposed to be worn " five of them are coming from the east and more than eight from north, they are getting closer"
"We take them head on, I like it when we fight them head on, not them hiding behind the wall"
"No Susan. Jack and I will fight the one from the east, the three of you should be able to take down the rest right?"
The squad get into action as they enter their battle stance
"Sword of Darkness " dark flames erupted from Jay's palm and form a sword
"Mainz hum" electric sparks covered Susan's hand
"Water bubble" a bubble appeared and covered Maxine's body
"I thought the squad leader said no defensive skill" Jay said looking at Maxine's bubble
"It's not defensive, it's protective"
Jay hold on to his dual swords and I, have no weapon
When the kobolds got to us, everyone launched their attack and fight. One leaf superhuman can kill one kobold easily but when it comes to two or three, they will find it hard to kill them even with their powers.
Reason: There powers is on low level
We fought for more than fifteen minutes and killed all the monsters after many cuts and wounds on us except for Susan who is still having trouble in killing a kobold. I don't blame her, her skill requires her to touch the target or get in close range before she can hurt them. The kobold was losing the battle so it ran away and Susan pursued it. Susan went out if our sight and we don't know which way they passed
"Don't worry, I can sense her, she is not dead yet"
"Why will she be in pursuit of one monster?" Maxine asked rhetorically
Of course Susan can't get killed in the dungeon or get lost since Susan is Mou. I can't sense her since I'm using my pure gift and not Holy Veil. I assured the other people that Susan has killed the kobold since I can't sense the kobold too.
Not long after, Susan came back with no wound on her, all of the wounds she had with her earlier were gone
"Guys, I think we should hunt deeper in this dungeon, there are lots of treasures in it."
"Are you ok, how come you have noore wounds on you?" Maxine asked her
"As for that, there are healing potions in the dungeon too. That kobold earlier must have tanned to its hideout, so I attacked and killed it. When I searched it's place, I saw a diamond and a healing potion"
"How did you know it is a healing potion? You could have died if it was poisonous" I condemned her. Although I know that she and Warg must have planned to Implant diamonds and healing potions in the dungeon just to make it attract humans and they will come to hunt, lose their lives in the process, I must still not make our relationship obvious
"I'm OK. That kobold escaped to their hideout. I followed it secretly and overheard their conversation. They were talking about gold, jewels and healing potions in this dungeon. One of the kobolds gave the one I almost killed a potion to drink but I attacked both of them and took the potion. I also found a jewel in their hideout."
Susan brought out a gold necklace and a small bottle.
"Just that after I stole the healing potion and jewel, lots of them are pursuing me though I out run them in a great distance, they will be here soon
"Susan, the jewel is precious to the monster and lots of them are coming to attack us. Do you say this is a healing potion?"
"Yes, I heard they want to give it too the wounded kobolds"
"Then let's use it, we have lots of monsters to fight"
"I'm not going to use an untested potion, what if it's a trap for her to poison us" Jack refuted
"Don't worry, I'll test the potion"
Maxine tried to not make me do it but I still used the potion and all my wounds healed instantly. With the happiness of our new discovered item, all other squad members used the potion too and they were healed of their wounds.
The kobolds a goblins get to is just in time, we attack them head on. I released my spirit and formed a communication with the monsters. I told them to divide themselves into two. Half of them should attack me and the other half should attack the rest. The monsters did as I said and in a few minutes the other squad members had at most one monster to fight except Jack who already killed all of the monsters that attacked him.
I reduced my strength so that it can appear like I am losing the fight against the 10 monsters that I am fighting which have now reduced to eight. I called on Jack to help me fight them. It is obvious that if anyone joins the battle between the monsters and I, the person will die. Jack looked at others, all of them were busy fighting monsters, he was the only free person. He doesn't know whether to love me or join me. If he neglects me, I will die alone but if he joins me the probability that we both will not die is still forty percent. Jay took the gamble, he joined me in fighting the monsters despite knowing that I might die. When he joined me, I used my full power on the monsters and killed all of them before they could lay their sword on Jack.
Everyone saw this and was surprised, I faced Jack and told him
"I was intentionally holding back earlier to test the level of your loyalty for the squad and you passed, you are now a bonafide member of Devil's Bane hunting squad"
Jack wanted to say his gratitude but was interrupted by Maxine
"How did you do that, kill eight monsters at once"
"One of the advantages of cultivating spirit"
"We all know spirit cultivation takes long time to make cultivators strong"
"Well, o have been cultivating spirit right from when I healed from my coma few months ago, I learned a lot of things when I was in coma through dreams"
"Come on guys, let's get out of here first"
"Jay, remember you are still on probation"
I said as we get out if the dungeon
Immediately we step out of the dungeon, message appeared in my vision

[Super villains now exist on earth. They are bent on sacrificing humans to the system and have a born hatred towards human]

Maxine was the first to speak
"Did you all get that message?"
"Yes" we chorused
