"Like I said earlier, you will be tested in the dungeon and how helpful your skill is will determine if you will be accepted or not. So, how about tonight? Can we go for a raid?" I asked curious about what the brothers can do
"Yeah, sure " the two brothers answered with happiness shown on their face
"What about Maxine and Susan?"
"Like I do have a choice" Maxine replied
"I'm not gonna reject the squad's first hunt either"
"Wait Susan, we don't know skill you have"
"Yeah that's true, we never ask" Maxine confirmed with a puzzled look. Guess she is trying to find out how we made Susan one if us without knowing her skill
"I… I do love things go sizzy" Sisan said and mainz hum sound from her palm
"Is that thunder or electricity"
"It is electricity Jay, thunder sound is like rumble"
"We should probably head back to the guild before going to the dungeon, right?" Jay asked again
"You can go anywhere you want, we hunt at dusk so just be here by 6pm"
"Ok, bye" the brothers bid goodbye and went back to their previous seat. They said some words to their sister and the next thing she did was come to me and slam the table
"If anything happens to my brothers, you…"
"I already promised the guild to keep all squad members safe"
"You little scoundrel, how do you intend to keep yourself safe in that dungeon "
"Your brothers will tell you tomorrow how I will keep them safe "
The sister was about to slam the table again but jay already rushed over to stop her
"We are sorry for the embarrassed squad leader, she's just being nervous" Jay said and took her sister away but they started another round of argument when they got to their seats. This time they spoke loud enough for everyone to hear and they do draw some attention
"Sis what's with you? It's just a raid and… it's not our first time hunting on the dungeon"
"All the times you've raided in the dungeon you are always with the guild, I won't allow you to go to that dungeon with just others"
"Sis, of hunting squad of five is harmful the guild won't let it be created in the first place"
"I know you guys so t listen, and I know you'll follow that guy to hell, just know any problem you've got with that guy, is yours to treat alone"
The sister shot out of the cafeteria ethe guys followed bidding a "bye squad " on their way
"Do you think we being just five members is dangerous" I asked the girls
"No, I think you are trying to form the 'dark killers' once more. Just this time in the guild"
"Rose, why will you say that?"
"You are running the squad the same way they ran theirs. You only want to verify their power, not their trust and loyalty. If Ethan had done that for Ray, dark Killers will probably still be acting"
"Who are the Dark Killers "
"You don't have to know Susan, they exist no more"
"Don't be that harsh Maxine, the Dark Killers is a hunting squad that died on the dungeon" I answered Susan's question and continue "if we have to verify their loyalty too, then I have a plan, it will be used in the dungeon"
"Spill it out man, what's your plan" Maxine asked
"I don't think I told you guys that I was forced by Ray to do something awful in the dungeon. He gave me an herb, he claimed he gives fifteen minutes immunity to monsters attack. We are going to drink this herb in the dungeon, we won't say what its use is for the brothers. When the monsters are plenty, we will abandon the guys for a few minutes and watch their reaction. Then we will be able to know the level of their loyalty to the squad. It's a good plan right?"
"If your herb works, it is. If it doesn't and you lose two squads on your first raid, I bet the guild will have to cancel the hunting squad. I'll advise you not to take the risk"
"No Maxine, I've used the herb before and it does work"
"I have a better idea. If you have so much belief in this herb, then you should be the one to face lots of monsters. We will give one of the brothers an opportunity to save you at the risk of being surrounded. If he comes to join you, you will save him instead but if he doesn't, he will be out"
"That's a good idea Maxine and I think that I should stop hanging out with you guys "
"Rose, are you serious? You really don't need to stop hanging out with us"
"Levin, you remember the reason you can't accept over eighteen years of age in your hunting squad?"
"Because we are teens and can't afford someone way older than us in the squad especially when he is not the squad leader"
"Well, I'm not a squad member either so…, I'm not dumping you guys but I think I should do better things with my life than hang out with you people. Moreover, you will be having two new friends soon"
"I'm in support of you Rose and I won't miss you cause we will see in class right?"
"See y'all later, and you Susan, try and chip in on their conversation when they are talking. You shouldn't just stay quiet all time"
Rose bid a final goodbye and went away. The three of us didn't say anything for a long time so Susan left too.
I tried to focus on eating but I couldn't help but steal glances at Maxine. Not that she is attractive but a part of me wants to get close to her
Another part of me wants to be the devil king
So I guess I don't want her and want the devil's throne . If she ever knows that I'm a dungeon master, she'll kill me herself
I kept stealing glances and dangling with my meal until she noticed
"What?" She asked
"Nothing I…I just think that I…creating the squad, is it a bad idea? I mean, rise left because of that"
"No, it isn't. You are one of the first people to create a hunting squad in the guild so I'm guessing people still find it dangerous when a limited number of people hunt multitude monsters. They just need time, they will get used to it"
"You, how did you get used to it so fast"
"I came here from Song Dynasty, hunting squad is very popular there though my first raid is still here in Golg"
I don't know why but hearing her speak is making me smile unnecessary so she asked
"Are you ok?Why the smile?"
"I'm ok, I'm just happy "
