Chapter 1

"CODY! GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE! I WON'T DRIVE YOU AT SCHOOL ANYMORE IF YOU MISSED THE BUS! “Cody woke up startled after he heard his mom shouts, his eyes are still closed with his dry saliva beside his mouth. His hand roam on the side of his bed trying to find his phone and once he got his phone, he opened it and saw the time and it was only 7:00am. His class starts at 10:00am and the school bus will arrive at 7:30am. He groaned in annoyance and start making his way towards the bathroom.

Face, lips, hair, teeth, neck. Everything needs to be perfect. He doesn't care about the time he only cares about is his hygiene and he's ready to take the risk just to do his routine. 7:45am is the current time and the school bus was about to leave when he just started eating his breakfast.

"I'm leaving now. I already told you to hurry up. It's your fault why the school bus left you" his mom said and Cody didn't care about what his mom just said and continue eating his breakfast. His mom sigh and said "hurry up, I'm going to drive you to the nearest bus station", "no need, I can just walk there alone". His mom rolled her eyes and grabbed her car keys and left the house. Cody rolled his eyes after his mom left the house. "I would rather walk alone to the bus station than ride that dirty car of yours that you and your lover do the nasty stuff" he said while his mouth is full of pancakes.

He grabbed his bag then leave the house after making sure the door is completely locked. He doesn't want anyone go to his house especially to his room, he hates it. The smell of other people inside his room irritates him, even his mom is not allowed to go to his room because she'll leave his room with the smell of alcohol.

He's just walking to the nearest bus station with his earphones on and does not give a f**k about everything and just minding his own business. While waiting for the bus to arrive, someone threw a rock on him. He looks on the ground then lifts his head to find the person who threw a rock on him.

"CODY! HEY! CODY! BEAN!!!" Someone shouted and it was Brian. "What the hell Brian, you could've just called me or texted me! No need to throw rock on me" Cody said in annoyance while fixing his resistant coat. "It wasn't me! It was Theodore! But anyway, come on, let go to school together! “Brian said and then closed the car window. Cody jogged to the car and hop inside. "Why are you taking bus? Where is your mom?" Theodore asked while munching his cupcake. "I told her that I will just take the bus here", "why?" Brian asked. "Because her car stink" Cody answered.

~at the school~

"Thank you June, we're just going to text you if we need someone to fetch us", "you're welcome Sir Brian, be safe and have fun" June their car driver said. The boys went in to their school and thank God the class is not starting yet. They're just about to go to their classroom but they saw their classroom lights are still off and their classmates are nowhere to be seen. "Where are they?" Theodore asks. “MR DAWSON AND MR WILSON WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING HERE? THE WHOLE CLASS ARE IN THE GYMNASIUM" Mrs. Stephanie, their principal asked while walking towards to them. "We’re doomed “Theodore whisper. "Relax I got this" Brain said and winked at Theodore.

"Oh, good morning Mrs. Stephanie. We’re just about to go there" Theodore said. "What do you mean? The event is already starting" Mrs. Stephanie said. “I mean yeah, the event is already starting it's just that uhm.... *Looks at Cody* Cody injured himself, so we decided to take him to the clinic" Brian explained and put a cheeky smile because he was proud on what he just did. "Cody?" "Me?” Both Cody and their principal said at the same time. "Cody is that true?" their principal asked. "Huh?" Cody was shock and don't know what to do so Theodore pushed Cody’s knee and Cody fell down on his knee. "AH! I will kil--" before Cody could finish his sentence, he saw Mrs. Stephanie looking at him. "ah AH! Yes Mrs. Stephanie it's true, I injured myself while I was riding my bicycle on the way to school". Cody said while he rubs his knee. "Hmm. Okay, well what are you guys still doing? Go to the gymnasium. Now!" Their principal said and walked away. They waited for their principal to get out of their sight and once the principal is already gone, Cody stand up and smacks both Brian’s and Theodore’s heads.

The boys are already in the gymnasium and falling in line together with their classmates. Theodore isn't listening to the speaker and keeps talking to Timothy who is in the other section while Cody was looking for his crush "jay" who is currently listening to the speaker.

Cody was planning to confess his love for Jay because jay is now senior and next year, he's not going to see him in the school anymore. He doesn’t want that, Jay is the only reason why he's still go to school. He's thinking that it will be easy to confess his love for him since they're close friends.

While looking at Jay, he didn't realize that he's already smiling not until jay looked at him and they both stare each other for 3 seconds. Jay smiled at him and Cody blushes, he quickly looked away trying to hide his red cheeks.

He can't wait to tell his love for him.

Time passed and it’s already recess time. Cody is with his friends eating their snacks while their other friend Kyle is not with them because he's with Nathan doing something "important".

While they're eating, someone called Cody. "HEY BEAN!” he lifts his head and saw jay waving at him. "There’s something great is going to happened today and I invite you and your friends to come", "what time?" Brian asked. "After school! ", "where?” Theodore ask. "Gymnasium!" After that, Jay walked away with his friends and Cody's friends looked at him.

"What?" He asks. "When are you going to confess?" Timothy asks. "Maybe later, after the event that jay told us to come"

-5:30pm-

Right after the class ended, he and his friends quickly went to the gymnasium. Once they got in, there's a lot of people there and Cody didn't like it. They're waiting in the bleachers and Cody was looking for jay. He saw jay entered the backstage so he quickly run towards there.

Once he got there, someone stop him. "Hey what are you doing?”, “I'm sorry I just need to see jay" Cody said. He was about to enter the backstage again but he was stopped again. "For what? Jay is doing something important."

"It's none of your business. Let me in", "no." After that, Cody tries to enter the backstage again but he got pushed by someone. "Hey little, listen. If you need to tell Jay something, do it tomorrow. Don't ruin this day for him.", "Why would I ruin his day? I'm just going to tell him that I like him" Cody said in anger and the guy laughed. "I'm sorry but you're already too late ", "what do you mean?” After he said that, the lights turn off except for the stage and jay suddenly appears on the stage holding a bouquet of flowers. Cody is just watching him, his heart is beating so fast, his getting anxious and don't know what to do.

“Cristal we been friends for five years now and remember that time you told me if someone has a crush on you, you want them confess their love to you Infront of many people. Well, your request is granted. Cristal, I like you for a very long time. Can I be your boyfriend?"

*crowd's cheering*

"Can I be your boyfriend" Cody felt numb after he heard that words.

Home is the only thing he can think of. He wants to go home and ignore everyone. The man was right, it's already too late for him to confess.

"I told you. You're too late. He already like someone “the man said while his hand is on Cody’s right shoulder. Cody swatted the man's hand on his shoulder. Words can't describe how much he hates this guy and how much he hates himself.

"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" Cody shouted and pushed the guy.

"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!” Cody shouted and walked away.

"Yes"

*crowd's cheering*

"CONGRATULATIONS JAY!!!"

"CONGRATS CRISTAL!"

Cody could only think of his house and his bedroom. He wanted to cry and ignore everyone. He hates himself.

Cody run past his friends and his friends noticed Cody run past them while crying. "Aww bean" his friends followed him and hugged him. Cody was pushing them away but his friends are too strong so he gave up and let his emotion comes out. Brian insisted that they will take him to his house

Back to his house, his mom notices the puffy eyes of his son. "Hey Cody are you okay?” His mom asked but Cody didn't answer it, he just went straight to his room and locked the door. But that didn't stop his mom to assure if her son was okay.

"Cody" *knocks on the door* "Cody let me in" "mom leave me alone!", "no. Open this door. “Cody didn't have any choice but to unlock the door and his mom came in.

"Oh my God Cody what happened to you?" His mom asked and hugged him. "Did something happen a while ago? Or did someone bully you?" Cody shook his head. "Then what happened?" "...I was about to confess my love to jay and before I do that, jay invited us to the gymnasium after class. But when we went to the gymnasium, I saw jay in the backstage" Cody stopped his sentence because he was out of breath "breath son breath. There's no need to hurry, speak slowly" his mom said. Cody took a deep breath and begun to speak again. "I decided to go to the backstage and confess to him there but... Someone stopped me and said that jay is doing something. I told the guy that I just tell jay something but the guy didn't let me. I tried to enter the backstage again but the guy pushed me. He told me that if I need to tell something to jay, I should do it tomorrow since today is a special day for jay"

"So, what happened?", "I told the guy that to let me in because I will just need to tell jay that I like him but the guy laughed at me and said "I'm sorry but you are already too late” I don't know what does that mean but after he said that to me, the lights turned off and jay came out with a bouquet of flowers and and.." Cody can't finish because of his emotions. "Shh its okay my little bean, I get it. You're still young you'll find someone better" Cody’s mom said while patting his hair. "NO! YOU DON'T GET IT! I LIKED HIM FOR A LONG TIME! AND I JUST WASTED MANY DAYS JUST DOING NOTHING INSTEAD OF CONFESSING MY LOVE FOR HIM. I HATE MYSELF. HE'S THE ONLY REASON WHY I GO TO SCHOOL”, “jeez Cody relax, I'm sorry for this but you just need to accept it that there's a right person for jay and for you. Plus, you're only sixteen once you get into college, you'll find a way better than Jay" Sally said and rolled her eyes.

"No mom I don't know if I could find someone better than Jay" Cody said. "Psh what a lie, you're just like me so don't worry too much. You'll find someone soon. Maybe you'll find someone who's good at dancing, sport person, rich I mean yeah, we're rich but way richer than us, tall, smart, handsome”, “Mom shut up there's no kind of person like that" Cody said. "You never know" Sally said in a joking way and then she left the room.
