TREVOR'S POV "Duty call! I'm sorry, I have to leave now." I told her and got up to get dressed. "You won't eat? Come on, have a bite!" She got up and tried to make me taste some fries. I didn't want her to feel hurt, so I took a bite. "Do you need me to drop you off or will you wait for me to be back?" I needed to know. "I don't know what you prefer," she replied. I then took out my card containing my phone numbers and gave it to her. I then touched her hair and kissed her forehead. "I will get back to you the moment I get off work, okay darling? Here is a card. Please go shopping," she nodded her head. "I will leave and message you when I get home," she replied with a smile. I could see that I had already made her happy. **************** BILLIONS EMPIRE I drove into my company's private garage and took the private elevator straight to the president's office. When I got in, Mark was already there waiting for me, his hands filled with documents. "What's wrong, and where is my father?" I asked, occupying my father's seat. Though it wasn't my first time, I was yet to be the official CEO. I wanted my father to rule for a few more years so I could learn more from him. Mark was happy to see me. He placed the documents in front of me. "Master, I just found so many errors in the projects we are working on. The South River project seems to be getting affected mostly due to this strange error." Error? That was weird to hear. "I will take a look at it. In the meantime, go and screen the whole department. I would like to see the results." I instructed and got to work. Things like this were very unusual. I needed to get to the root of the matter, and yes, I would never spare the angle from which the faults may come from. It's been hours and I hadn't raised my head for once, but I was forced to when I heard a knock on the office door. "Come in," I said, hoping to see Mark, but when I raised my head, I froze. "You!?" Duke Billions walked in with his spoiled daughter, Tina. "Is that how you greet your uncle? Have you forgotten that after your father, it will be me?" As usual, he began with his imaginary speech. "I don't have time for this, Uncle Duke. If anything, your help is needed 'cause I don't know why our projects are recording errors in the financial aspect." I sat up, talking. "You will have to get up from that seat before asking for help, but you know you can't, so yes, this help will definitely not be granted," he replied and sat down on the chair facing me. "Tina, you should sit too. Aren't you feeling stressed?" She didn't say anything but sat down, moving close to her father as though she was scared of me. "Look, I'm not in for this drama. As you can see, I am very busy, so state what you need or walk through that door." I commanded them. Tina dressed her hair and cleared her throat. "Hmmm, cousin, I need your help. My father and I are looking to start another company from scratch since we have no chance of inheriting this one once your father passes away. Trust me, the company would never be a threat to this billion-dollar empire, and we will always come to you for advice," she blabbed. My facial expression was grim as I looked at them as though I was capable of ending them. "And the price needed to get this done is just a hundred million dollars," her father added. That got me giving off a fake smile as I adjusted my dress and picked up my telephone while pressing some numbers. "Security!!!" I growled, and within some seconds, four security guards walked into my office. "Throw them out!" I ordered the security. "And you, pray nothing happens to my father or I won't spare you." The moment they got thrown out of my office, I slammed my fists on the table. These family members... They never cared about each other or the company. All they cared about were their personal needs. They had every chance to work in the company, but no, they would rather come every week feeling entitled to my father's hard work and wishing for his death. I wouldn't take that anymore. As I walked around the office feeling really bad, I heard the door open again. When I turned to look, it was Mark. "What's the update?" I asked, my memory feeling messed up. "Master, this is not a natural mess. I think our company is been attacked using someone from within," he stated in his observation. Right! "Not surprised. Could you find a lead?" I asked him. "Not yet! I think an investigation will be needed. But whoever is doing this should already get this hint that we have noticed, so it may be hard," he explained. "Well, that shouldn't stop us. We have to find out regardless. Start from Duke Billions and his greedy daughter. I think they want to open another company outside of ours. That should help." I suggested. Mark was stunned but still maintained his cool. "I will do just that, master." he then left the office, shaking his head. Seeing that, I knew he was fed up with the s**t my extended family members always came up with. Despite them not giving a damn about the family's business, I had been generous to them while coming up but that was until I realized that they never cared about me and my father and secretly mocked me for growing up without a mother. My phone rang the moment the door closed, and I rushed to my table to pick it up. "Who is this?" I said, my voice sounding tough. "Hello Trevor!" A soft, sweet voice came through. My worries reduced, followed by a smile on my face. "Ellen!" I whispered and then looked at my watch. s**t! It was almost 4 pm without me realizing it. "I'm sorry I haven't called since I left. It's been hectic over here." I apologized immediately. "Ah, no, that's alright. I just finished with today's duties, so I'm about to go shopping with the card you gave me. Will I get to see you at the end of the day? You could get to meet with my family, maybe," she said very sweetly. I rubbed my head. "I will let you know once I'm done at the office. Have fun!" I ended the phone call and sat in my chair, different thoughts clouding my mind. I think I need to see my father... I thought that when suddenly, the door was pushed open for the hundredth time. I looked up and saw Mark breathing faster than normal. "There is a problem, Master," he said in between breaths. "Did you find out anything?" I asked him again, my mind wandering. He waved his hand like trying to take my mind off business. "No, no... I just got some information from the Billions Mansion. Your father was poisoned!"
